how much taco bell
Hi all I'm 10 mos out and I'm curious about what people are eating. I feel like I can eat alot. I can eat 2 taco suprems from taco bell. The last few bites of the second one are tough... but I can do it with no discomfort later. Now I know I shouldnt be eating taco supremes..... but dang they are good. Anyway.... I get worried sometimes about how much I can eat..... can anybody else eat this muc. If so, do you worry about maintenance? Thanks for you input stacey

NSV's: hands in my pockets and getting "checked out"
Yea!!!! good for you. Its funny how those little things make such a difference in our confidence. I don't have any desire to go flirting and cavorting with every male of the species... but I get checked out a little too now and it feels good. I know what you mean about being "normal" I felt so freakish when I was big. I dont need to be Angelina Jolie but its nice to not stick out anymore.

Dr. Rod in TJ on 02/26/11
I used Dr Rod last year for my sleeve. I was in TJ at INT hospital. The whole thing was a great experience. Int was small but super clean and they took really good care of me. Dr Rod was great... there's a young doc named Dr Elmo (???, cant remember.. I think thats it). He really does most of the work and is very nice. I got the impression that Dr Rod is more of a figure head while Elmo is the worker. Either way... both spent time with me and both were absolutly fabulous. Nothing to fear... your in great hands

Where are the two years?
I'm going on 10 mos and I too am curious about the 2 year mark. What about. My doc told me that skin can take 1-2 years to snap back. Are you guys finding your getting a little tighter (skin wise I mean). I don't have hanging skin.... but I can tell it doesnt fit me like it used too. Things kind of wobbel a little more... despite weight training. I'm 45.... wondering if its going to get better and if so, in what time frame.

Looks like your on the road to success..... Keep us posted- I drew the line...
I have a full thing of BA chewable vitamines and had a horrible time with nausea. I just couldn't tolerate them. Like you... I didn't want to throw them out so I started sucking on them. On a full stomach I suck very slowly until the vitamine is about half gone.... then about 20 minutes later I slowly suck the rest. I have had no problems since I started this, I think it helps alot to have it hit your stomach slowly. I do't know if it will impact the laxative effect. Once I'm finished with this bottle I will get a different brand- Any regrets?
The only thing I wish I had done differently was get my thyroid tested before I did the surgery. I think you really have to capitalize on those 1st few months and I probably would have lost a little faster had I been on synthroid like I am now. I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism when my US doc did my labs at about 5 months out. I complain alot about being a slow looser..... its all just a bunch of whining on my part.... I would do it again in a heartbeat. I have never ever done a better thing for myself- Sleeve-related fears
I'm really scared about the real loss being over too. I am loosing about 2lbs per month. I'm really really close to goal, so if I can keep it up for just a few more months I should get there. But every month I think "what if this is the month that I dont loose at all" We are all so conditioned to believe we can't succeed.... diet after diet after diet.... I am actively working on changing my thinking. In the mornings, before I do anything else, I reframe my thoughs.... focusing on the success I have had, and not on the sense of failure at not reaching goal. Its an active process.... but I think its helping. I feel a little less panicky and stressed about the whole thing when I do this.- tax deduction
wow...You guys sure have a lot of crazy stuff you have to try and make sense of..... I think I'll confess to my accountant sister about the surgery and let her sort it out. Thanks.... it does help me understand a little better stacey- Sleeve-related fears
I don't worry that I will get too thin.... but I really worry that I will regain the weight (or at least part of it) back. I used to be a binger and as time goes on... that kind of lifestyle becomes more possible. I have had a few slider binges and it scares me. Thankfully I get a little dumping when I eat too much sugar so that will keep me away from the cookies and ice cream. I'm careful, I work out, and I have worked hard at not just loosing weight.... but creating a healthy lifestyle. I guess our fears will haunt us for some time to come.- should I go on a diet
I hear you..... we have come to far... put in too much time, money, and heart ache to throw in the towel. I think if I could go on a "diet" without triggering my binge cycle I would because it would be ever so much easier than before... I think 1000 calories a day would be ample given my current anatomy. We will get there!!!!!- tax deduction
wow oopsseedaisy.... that is really helpful... thank I called belightweight and they said it was deductable. I was obese even though I didn't have a "diagnosis" per se. I guess you get flagged for audit when you have health insurance but dont use it to cover your proceedure. I think I'm just going to do it..... The worst thing is I will have to pay it back. my next issues is that I elected not to tell my family. My sister is an accountant and does my taxes every year... hmmmmmm thanks for the responses guys- tax deduction
Hey... does anybody know... If you had surgery in Mexico using a US based coordinator and the surgery was elective (not medically necessary) can this be deducted from taxes as a medical expense?- should I go on a diet
Thanks MlkPas I have kind of kept my eye on you because we do seem to be in a simmilar boat. You seem to handel it a little better than I do... you seem much more realistc and grounded.... sometimes I just get so frustrated. I'm really working on self acceptance right now. I try to focus my thoughts in the mornings on how successful I've been rather than how I'm "not quite there". Its a challenge... I actually have to work pretty hard at it. It's definately the next step in my journey. I can't really afford a trainer right now but I have added 30 minutes of cardio 1st thing in the morning and continue to lift weights (I'm not super hard core about this... just a little strenght training) and do yoga when I can pay for it. Your absolutly right about the bread though.... its the devil. We will get there thanks stacey- should I go on a diet
Okay guys.... thanks for the input. Just the idea of counting points and measuring my food has made me want to buy a dozen donuts and a pizza (it might take me two days to eat but I could probably pull it off). I guess that answers my question.... NO DIETS FOR ME.... I guesse I will continue to exercise and make good choices... maybe with a little more emphasis on Protein and cut out the bread... and let my body take me where it wants to go. I never want to be on the diet binge cycle again!!! thanks for the input.- NSV shout outs
am I really a "tiny" person? I was chatting with my hairdresser yesterday and told her about my surgery. Her response was "oh, I knew someone else that did that and she was just like you... this little tiny person trapped in a big body" Am I a little tiny person? Its so hard to get used to. It takes our brains a while to catch up to our bodies. I get frustrated because all the size smalls seem to run too big.... then I realize... they arnt big... I'm little- i'm scared it stretched!
I get scared I have stretched my pouch sometimes. There are days when I eat way more food than I thought possible. Usually I can eat about 5oz of meat and some veggies (and I am stuffed). I tend to get scared about stretching when I am eating things I shouldnt eat.... bread.... sliders... etc. I freak myself out about how much I can eat... but then when I go back to Protein I tend to get my restriction back. Also... I find a lot of variation day to day. I was under the impression that we wern't going to stretch much.... I hope thats true.- should I go on a diet
oh.. feedyoureye I forgot to say thanks for the kind workds in my last post. Its so easy to start seeing myself as a failure because I cant get off these last lbs instead of a success for how far I've come. thanks for the reminder- 5 weeks out and can't get much down...
I agree.... keep your protein levels high... sip on protein all day and you should be okay. There's probably lots of swelling still... it will probably go away. Keep your nutritionist updated and you'll be fine.- should I go on a diet
I hear you blackberryjuice..... I'm just so darn close. I do alot of cardio and strength training but I still have a muffin top and batwings (made of fat, not so much skin).... I think I really need to start working on self acceptance etc... it seems like I am always chasing that pot of gold. I really really really want to weigh 135.... its been a dream for years. I am just not quite ready to accept that it might not happen. Also.... I bought a whole wardrobe of size 6 pants. I can wear them (mostly) but they would hang oh so much nicer with just 7 lbs gone. I think I might log my food intake for a week and then figure out the weight watchers points for everday at the end of the week.... just to see if i'm in the ball park. thanks guys- laser skin tightening
its the same concept..... deep heat to stimulate collagen. I think they use a different mechanism though. One laser and high freuency radio waves....something like that. - Beer and Alcohol post-op
