It's been awhile since I last wrote here. I have lost 37lbs!!!! I am feeling wonderful. I am getting divorced after 11 years. Don't feel so wonderful about that but I am learning to get up when life knocks you down. I am learning to live with the band, my mind still thinks I can eat whatever but the band really controls my body. I am doing Zumba class daily (almost) and loving it. So, hopefully others are having success, but you still have to work hard. Its not an easy fix but its a fix. Go forth and succeed!:tt2:

 Since I last wrote I have had gall bladder surgery and my 3rd fill. The 3rd fill seems to be the one that gives me the best results. I eat but don't feel like I can go crazy with portions. The funny things is since my gall bladder surgery I have not been able to eat anything greasy or fat filled (which is a good thing I guess) When I eat something which has high fat content I get nauseous, big time. I have lost 4 more lbs and its slow and steady. Still have not mastered the exercise portion of my journey but I will get there. Since my surgery I get winded and tired quickly. So we will see.

  4. My husband bought a meat lover's pizza and some wings (the food industry is against us, they make everything so cheaply now) and I had skipped dinner and was hungry. I decided to eat some of the pizza (toppings only) and 1 hot wing. Another bad decision!!!! I threw it up after 2 minutes and it was not pretty. I had to take nausea medication to calm me down. I had had a particularly bad day (which resulted in me resorting back to bad habits) and felt like I was entitled (insert band here) this thing won't let you cheat. It let's you know who's the boss real quick . Okay I give... You win band! I will follow the rules :tongue_smilie:

  6. Gosh that sounds awful! Why didn't the doctors give you something for pain???? I am so sorry that happened to you. I was walking down the hallway and felt something funny happen to me. I thought the band had flipped too, almost like a funny bone sensation. But I had it checked and it was okay. Let us know how it goes. I am praying for your safety.
  7. I want to try for 15lbs by Mother's Day! Its my birthday on May 21st, my daughter's on May 14th and my Granddaughter on May 11th. I want to see if I can reach that goal by May 9th.

Dear Renee, All I can tell you is to review your food items, I started by recording every calorie I ate until I got comfortable with my food choices. Also, I found that a little exercise really boosted my weight loss, I was feeling very discouraged like you until I started moving. Good luck and I hope it helps
  9. I felt no pain with the 2nd fill YAY! I have lost 4lbs since returning from L.A. I am incorporating more exercise into my program. You would be surprised to see the amount of exercise that can impact your weight loss. I climb 7 flights of stairs at the office M-F, on the weekend I just walk about 2.5 miles. It quite easy (for me anyway). You don't have to do insane amounts of exercise just get moving. You can break it up too if you don't have 30 minutes to spare, you can do 10,10 and 10. I am not preaching to anyone, just sharing what I know. I went to a support group meeting and met amazing women and men. Some have lost extreme amounts of weight, 150lbs, 90lbs, 65lbs etc. But the best news for me was seeing folks who had kept it off for 5+ years. That makes me happy:thumbup:. I felt so supported in the group setting. Its a powerful thing.

  11. 2 weeks???? You need to take at least a month before you start trying to do a lot of activity. Everyone is different but I don't think its unusual for you to be tired. I was tired for the first 5 weeks! Let your body heal, it has been through trauma not to mention you are on far fewer calories than you are used to. Your body needs time to adjust, plus you have to get your head into it too .
  12. I am so glad I read this post! I was feeling like you, just can just about eat anything (except bread). I kind of lost my way but you guys helped me get back on track. Thanks for posting the information about the 5 day pouch plan. I think I can try that to get me going again. I was banded on 3/8/2010 and have lost about 20lbs pre-op and post-op.
  13. I don't feel restricted as I thought I would So I am going for a 2nd fill on Saturday, plus a support group meeting. I need to get recharged, my zeal has waned, guess the honeymoon is over. Now the real work begins. I sometimes get the feeling I can feel my band, especially when I drink cold water. It feels like its right under my ribcage YIKES! :scared2: Does anyone else feel this way? I met a lovely woman from Canada who got banded the same day as me. We have shared so many stories, I am blessed to have found her. I want to feel full and satisfied, I don't want to be hungry 2 hours after I eat. Right now I don't know if its my nerves or am I truly hungry. My stomach is growling all the time but that is from the band I think. OH well I guess I will get the hang of this soon, I hope.
