  1. Hi Tegan, I am so sorry about your hair loss. I went to a seminar last night that my surgeon put on, and I asked the question about hair loss. He said about 6 mos out, you will loose some hair but it will grow back. He said they think it is due to less fat intake. He mentioned some people have had luck with olive oil shampoo. Also, what about putting a tab of butter on veggies?
  2. Leigha, Good point about the calories in meat. I am also amazed still how many calories are in ground turkey! You are doing great on your weight loss and look great!
  3. Leigha, Sounds like you are able to eat most meats and pork. Great! I hope I have the same luck!
  4. Thanks Elcee for your response! Good news! Thanks!
  5. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is sweet music to my ears. I cannot wait to get banded and start loosing. It feels so GOOD!
  6. Leigha, What type of beef do you buy? Thanks! Terri
  7. I am pretty much accepting any changes (good and bad) the Lap Band will bring me. However, I am a little upset about the idea that I may loose some, half or whatever of my hair! Sounds like eating more Protein, etc. doesn't really help, and you have to loose it and then it will grow back. Experiences please!
  8. Acquarias12459, Let me know what you think of the muscle milk!
  9. AJDJ, I love Muscle Milk from Costco. If you have not found out all the info, let me know. You can also purchase it from vitacost.com. We love the chocolate and vanilla. Just purchased the cookies and cream (not here yet). We add blueberries to the vanilla and a banana to either the chocolate or vanilla, water and ice in the blender. Yummy!
  10. Thanks Alsobrook71, It all makes sense. I like the ebsom salts idea. I use that in baths after I work in the yard for hours. Really helps with muscle ache.
  11. Spideymom, You look great! Are you still able to maintain the weight loss??

  13. Thanks Jachut for sharing all your knowledge of loosing weight and how to control loose skin. You look great, so you are doing something right!
  14. Glad to hear about the stomach. It seems like so many need tummy tucks. Good for you!
  15. Have you found that the exercise has tightened up the loose skin, thus eliminating any surgical procedures?
  16. Are you able to devulge what her pre-existing problems were?
  17. That is why I do not share this with anyone but a close friend. People should mind their own business, and be supportive of other people's choices and not judgmental.
  18. Good for you! I can't wait until my date! Good luck with it all and you will look fabulous soon!:blushing:
  19. Hi CB, WOW, impressed with your walking! :success1:You go girl! Do you ever do weights? I am going to try to introduce those, so these flabby arms will not get worse! Can't wait to exercise with when I weigh much less! It will feel so much better!
  20. Thanks Majj. No surgery date set yet. The paperwork still needs to be submitted. More time to focus on getting ready!
  21. Hi Ms. Chaval, Glad to be your Bandster friend. You are farther along than I, but I am worried about the same thing. I am so mentally ready for this and then if the insurance does not authorize it, I will be heart sick. During this time though, I am trying to practice eating slower (not too good at this yet), exercise, eating 1400 calories/daily (which is sometimes hard), and putting together recipes and things I will eat Post-op. The waiting is so hard though! Hang in there! Terri
  22. My name is Terri and I have been reading this forum daily since I discovered it! This is exactly what I needed to comfort the unknown and give me the support needed to proceed. I have met with the surgeon, dietician and the psychologist. I need to call the surgeon tomorrow and see how the insurance coverage is going. I feel very confident in my surgeon and his team which is really important when having surgery. I am seeing Dr. Bhoyrul, at Scripps in La Jolla, CA. I wanted the best surgeon and hospital within my vicinity. I am so looking forward to looking great again! It has been a L-O-N-G time. My best to all the Bandsters on this forum and all their hard work. I am looking forward to walking on this journey together. Bandsters UNITE!:party:
  23. Thanks Betsy for your advice and support. Amazing how 30 min. of exercise a day is not a big deal...the brain really tries hard to talk one out of it.
  24. Ok, I dun good! :thumbup:I have been on the elliptical the past two days for 30 minutes each day! Yeah! It is a start. Let's hope this keeps up. It is also good to know as a motivator, that the exercise is so that you do not get blood clots in your legs after surgery. My psychologist reminded of this today! A very good reason to MOVE IT!
  25. Thanks BT. I am going right now and jump on that thing! Thanks for the encouragement!
