  1. All of the responses are great! The problem is I do exercise, but I don't do it consistently. I try, but I always get wrapped up doing something else. I really don't know what to do once I get to the gym...does anyone have any exercise pointers or workout routines that have been successful.
  2. So, I'm 31 married black woman ...lol and my mom is hounding me about having kids...I want some babies, but I'm still to big (in my opinion). I've been infertile for years and had a miscarrage 1 year ago today. Just wondering if you were faced with infertility and then had the band surgery and ended up getting pregnant...
  3. I've been playing around with them for a few months... I've had 3 fills and 2 unfills...so I'm not sure what's up! :-) How about you.
  4. I have been stalled at 300 pounds for nearly 3 months! I know that I fell off the bandwagon a few times, well actually more than a few times...but I feel like I am working harder with the band than I did without it. I had my surgery Feb 8, 2010. My starting weight was 357. So I've lost. But I am getting frustrated because I feel I should be so much farther now. Could someone tell me what they are eating...needing some guidance.
  5. Hello Bandsters!! The last summer holiday is almost 1 month away!! I would like to look really cute this summer and post some pics on here so everyone can tell me how cute I look!! Anyone wanna join me! Here's what we will do... we will start a forum entitled "LABOR DAY CHALLENGE 2010" Each day we will post our menu of what we ate and exercise regimen... we can also post weight loss if any! I think having someone to be accountable to and making it fun will help all of us!! Let me know...The challenge will begin on Friday August 6th, exactly 1 month from Labor Day!!
  6. :thumbup:Hey! I'm looking for some people to connect with in St. Louis. I have really hit a plateau and need to find someone that I can lean on and allow them to lean on me!! If you're out there let me know.
  7. I typically wait 30 minutes. If I'm out to eat, I just won't order a drink until I finish my meal. I normally sit and chit chat with who ever I am out with and then drink right before we leave, if I am thirsty. The same for when I'm at home. I will not grab a drink until I am finished with my meal.
  8. Wow! I was feeling the same way. I've had 4 fills and I still haven't reached the "sweet spot" yet. I have also lost motivation because of my own foolishness. I was banded 02/08/2010 and I've lost a little over 60 pounds! I still have a long way to go. The motivation and encouragement here is phenomenal. Thanks everyone!!
  9. Hey everyone, I have decided to step my workout game up a notch. I have been at a complete standstill in weightloss for about 2 weeks. And I assumed it was because I wasn't working out. At first I was just dropping weight but here lately, I haven't been doing so good. If any of you workout at the gym, could you give me some good routines that you follow. Let me know machines, reps, cardio, strengh...the whole 9?? Thanks!
  10. Ok fellow bandsters...I need some help...I am craving chocolate big time... What are some tips to war off cravings...what are some alternatives if I want a chocolate bar (like I just had:mad2:) I am doing so good. Don't want to sabotage my own success. I know how to walk away, but for some reason I just couldn't this time. Please don't judge me...I need some help lol. But seriously I do.
  11. Hello, I am interested in tweeking my menu so I can maximize my weightloss. It seems like since I've had my last fill, I can only eat a little bit of food at a time. While I am not complaining, I want to be able to eat the right things...can you give me some ideas of what you're eating and how much weight you're losing. Right now, I'm averaging about 10-11 lbs per month.

I have decided that starting today, I will not let negativity control me or hinder me. Back before my surgery, I would turn to food, sweets, soda, or anything I could get my hands on to comfort me when I was down. As a result, a ballooned to over 358 lbs! I was 30 years old, newly married, unhappy with myself and not very confident. While I would be considered very successful to some, I had a BA and a Masters degree, I still felt my life was on a downward spiral out of control! So I decided to take control. Now I have a new evil...friends, haters and insecurity. I've had friends tell me that I will not look right if I lose to much weight. That I am going to look loose. I've had people tell me that I think I'm all that now. I even had a friend say we won't be able to hang if I am not in the big girl's club! Well you know what I say to that...thanks but no thanks. I am not about to succomb to that kind of talk and I admonish you not to either. It's time for me to look good, have babies, be happy, be confident...I don't care who doesn't like it...it's my turn now!

60+ lbs gone!! I feel pretty, oh so pretty!
  15. I had a fill last Tuesday...1 cc in a 14cc band which has brought me up to 7 cc's. As of right now it seems like I can only eat a few bites of food and I am full. While I think this is a good thing, I am just wondering if the meals are too small. About the only thing I can eat with no problems is 1 cup of oatmeal. Other than that, any kind of meat gives me discomfort. Sometimes I feel like I am burping but then this slimy stuff comes up! Sorry if that's TMI... This is only my second fill so I am still not sure what restriction feels like. Could someone help me on this?? I want to be able to eat a "reasonable amount of food". Not quite sure what this is. If this is restriction then maybe I can adjust to it. Help!

So what did you do to lose 15 lbs in one month! I would love to be able to do that.

    Thanks for posting!
  18. :blush:No, I am still trying to get acclamated to all this stuff on here!
  19. I'm going to have to try those! Thanks!!
  20. I really appreciate the responses! I have had my first fill back in March. I am due for another one next week. What type of protien sticks did you find. I haven't been eating a lot of meat because it seems to get stuck. I am going to get some deli meat and see how that works, and also some fish.
  21. I've lost a good 50 plus pounds, but now that I am officially 8 weeks out from surgery, I have no clue as to what to eat. I am starting to really crave sweets again and carbs and I know don't need that stuff. I have been pretty good at steering clear, but I'm lost as to what I can and cannot eat, or should and should not eat. In addition, I don't think I am feeling restriction. It seems like after I eat my prepared portion, I am still hungry...I don't know if it's the old ways trying to creep back up or what!! Could someone please help me. Those of you that have been successful can you share some of your menu ideas? What does restriction feel like? I am starting Lindora in 2 days, but I just want to know what some of you all are doing...it seems like Lindora is really trying to push their products!
  22. I am exactly two months out from surgery and I've lost over 50 lbs!! I am so excited. I have cheated a couple of times, but I've definitely paid the price...fortunately no weight gain though. However, there is a program called Lindora TLC offered through My Lap Band Journey on Lapband.com. I am very interested in this. I was supposed to start on the 8th but I didn't know it started. Has anyone tried this and had success. Please let me know.
  23. It's funny because I hear it all the time. I have a few GF's that are really excited to see me losing weight...but to be honest, those that are not excited can kick rocks!! I am tired of holding on to weight. I am not doing this for any other reason. I had a miscarriage in August due to being morbidly overweight. Now I am almost 32 and have no kids. I want to start a family!! So to h - e - double hockey sticks with those haters... If I am friendless by the time I reach my goal weight, I have you guys and I have my hubby wubby that will love me no matter what I look like!:thumbup:
