  1. Wow, congratulations everyone. Sounds like we're all off to a great start.
  2. Many have asked for an update and I couldn't find the old thread so here's a new one. I had surgery on March 4th and had my first post of visit today and lost 16lbs! I've been pretty hungry and have had to increase my Protein over the past week but glad to know the number is going down. Met with the nutritionist today too after my appt and I am so disgusted with them. The literature they give you is conflicting and then they gave me conflicting information one nurse said I could start solid foods and then the nutrionist said one more week on mushies-truly frustrating! Anyway the good news is I'm losing weight although I have a long way to go. How are my fellow March Bandster's doing?
  3. A friend of mine who was banded last year told me to invest in the "Bullet" it's like 49.95 Costco's had they a few weeks ago. I use it to blend all of my homemade soups and it is super powerful and great. I even use it in the morning's to make my protein shake and I add a couple of ice cubes and it takes like a chocolate shake! Super yummie. I really enjoy it and it's well worth the investment. Good luck.
  4. Hi Lace, I'm doing pretty well only 6 days after surgery. I'm already eating mushies and keeping all down well so far. I was pretty sore the first 3 days. It hurt to get up and down and roll/turn to another side, but the pain meds definitely helped. I did get some bad gas pains and everyone is right. Walk and they will help you get it out along with the gas x strips. No shoulder pain for me yet and hopefully none will appear! Overall I have to say I was back at work on Tuesday doing a lot with no restrictions. I got very tired by mid day but I think that's to be expected. I do take some pain meds at night mostly to help me have a great sleep without too much disruption. I'm not sure how much weight I've lost yet, but I know that my waist is down "4" inches from the day of surgery! I measured myself before going in. So all is moving in the right direction. Don't hesitate to email me if you have any other question and good luck on your lap band surgery.
  5. Thanks for the encouraging words Caldwell and I sure will let you all know how it went! Peace and joy.
  6. Yes, lots of luck and good wishes for a great recovery. I will be joining you in 2 days!
  7. Definitely excited and anxious about having the surgery in only 2 more days! Crazy how fast that came up. I'm so ready to not be a prisoner of food and able to eat small, normal portions! So ready. Good luck my fellow March bandsters :-).
  8. I'm having the surgery through my belly button but not until March 4th. I'll let you know how it goes!
  9. It's official. I was approved by the insurance company and my surgery date is March 4th! I'm a March bandster. Long journey ahead but headed in the right direction. Having trouble controlling portions in preparation for the surgery .
  10. Excellent ideas everyone. Thank you so much! Yes, I'm excited about the surgery and plan to do well on it. I'm finally ready to let go of this weight for so many reasons. Thanks again for all of the great ideas.
  11. Hi Everyone, I'm getting ready to be banded on March 4th -still to be confirmed by insurance company. Wanted to know if you have any recommendation for a sample liquid and soft food diet plan. Thanks for your help.
