  2. Yes...my doc does this instead of liquid...it also reduces the size of the liver... although i think I will still do liquids the last two days....just in case! :guess
  3. Hope you can make it!!! Keep me posted
  4. Oh...by the way, if you live in Florida you can catch a flight directly from there. Also I will try to post more dolphin trek related pics on www.myspace.com/atrumbauer Sometimes my space does not taqke large file pics and I do not know how to reduce the size!
  5. Hi Nov. Bandsters! JUST 16 DAYS TO GO! For me anyway... some of us much less...who has started their pre-op diet? Good luck...remember we are here to support each other... Beginning Tuesday I am startin my VERY low-carb diet... bye bye chocolate! bye bye pasta! :faint:
  6. Hi...we are the asme age... WOW you are down to my ideal weight...awesome! What are you doing in Malawi? Where are you from? I also love to travel... tell more about your life and how you find your life different now that you are thin!
  7. Hi Everyone! I am so excited about this trip! I will try to answer all your questions. When....i was thinking beginning ofMay of 2007.... Possibly March if everyone prefers a bit early...but some spring brakes are in March and brings cost up. The cost will depend on how many people go, but roughly for 1 week at an excellent island resort with meals included, double occupancy.... 7 night hotel accommodations Fish and coral under Water ID cards 2 snorkel trips daily by boat with guide in which we can see dolphins 1 dolphin encounter at the resort Reef ecology lecture and fish ID slide show Full American meal plan – 3 meals daily Daily dolphin presentations Welcome island cocktail and orientation Tropical picnic on Tabyana Beach Island Fiesta Night on the Key Horseback riding Kayaking and Canoeing Entrance to Roatan Museum Airport transfers and airline ticket reconfirmation All of this for about $1,750-$1,950! :wow2: Does not include airfare Air fare is extra from Houston on Continental, but I can try to get a group discount when I have enough people that sign up. The airfare now is in the $380 area, but don't know what it will be for 2007. We will need to have a deposit ready for the resort by the end of November or December...they sell out quickly. It is really one of the best experiences you will ever have!:smilingface (52): What a great gift to yourself for such hard work losing weight with the helpof the band!
  8. Great! By the way...your weight loss is awesome!:clap2:
  9. Want to go swim with dolphins in the Caribbean next year? I take small groups for swimming with dolphins, snorkeling and a health retreat. Mind, Body, Spirit retreat. I am a Doctor of Naturology and a Reiki Master Teacher. Besides losing weight, we need to be healthy in all three aspects for a happier, fuller life. It would be wonderful if I could take a bandsters group! I can take up to 14 people.. Beautiful resort....meals included, snorkeling included and lots of toher activities.
  10. Hi, I was diagnosed with MS several years ago. I just wanted to let you know I reversed it all through natural, holistic means and have been symptom free for over 5years. I could barely walk back then...was lloking for a wheelchair...then I decided nO! With that I decided to go back to school and got my degree as a Doctor of naturology/Naturopathy. If you need any tips let me know! Now my challenge is to lose weight....I eat very healthy, but just too much~!
  11. :bump2: :bump2: :bump2: Just bumping it so it shows up on the main board and higher up on the general board. :biggrin1:

I feel so much better now that i switched docs! i was soooo anxious and the moment I decided to change dos, I felt better, lighter.... perhaps I should have gone with Dr. Aceves to begin with. I really need to follow my intuition always!

  16. Please rate this thread so we can get some stars and make it easier to see! :bump2: :bump2: :bump2:
  17. Dr, Aceves in Mexicali is great!
  18. WELCOME!!!:clap2:
  19. You are absolutely doing the right thing!!!! Where is your surgery? How much? Mexico is a great place to go if you don't have insurance... Dr Aceves is Great and it is around $8500!
  20. Hang in there. make sure you have enough protein. Protein shakes can be really yummy! Egg drop soup is also good. i just heard back from my doc and I do not need to do a liquid diet! Just low fat high protein diet, and liquid the day before. I think just to be safe I will do two days liquid. Let us know how you are doing!
  21. Cindy, I am sure they are VERY nice in Mexico, but here they do not know how to handle someone who is anxious. I am not the only one...someone else who is having surgery there says she has not been trated very nicely either...they are snobbish and appear annoyed at her questions. And the main one has had a lap-band herself!! She forgot what it was like to be overweight and how it felt right before sugery and all the questions patients have.... its too bad because I think the doc is awesome! I am so glad you had a nice experience....
  22. OK...Who has to do a liquid diet before? I am excited!!! Since I just switched docs I am not sure if I need to be on a liquid diet for more than a couple of days.... I;ll find out hopefully today!:clap2:
  23. Hi Raynie, No It wasn't Dr. Ortiz. It was not the doc at all, it was his American staff here in the U.S. It was Dr. R In Monterrey. I am sure the staff down there is nice, but they got so ugly here that I just did not feel the confidence in their system to contnue...besides i cannot allow someone to treat me the way I was treated, especially when I am the customer! You know what I mean? I was talked to in such a horrible manner, that if that had been at any office here in the U.S. they would have lost their job! Oh well...I cannot dwell on this...i need to relax and get my mind and body ready for surgery! Thanks for your concern
  24. Thanks Tru Blue Yes....and I will write a letter directly to the doc at some point....
  25. Moon G oddess how was your surgery? How do you feel? Take good care... Hugs,
