  1. Ang - try to stay on protein shakes and sip water. Healing at this time is so important and you want the pouch to remain small. After fills, you are also required to be on liquids for a couple days, so consider this practice.
  2. Jessica - Love all the pictures. You look beautiful and tattoo is lovely. DS is darling. Lori - hope fence comes soon to help out doggie. Hugs on the accidents. Do not want that new carpet ruined. Janet - have a great trip with those grandkids. A nice variety of ages. I'm so lucky that my grandkids look forward to our trip together each summer. Wish I had started Lala instead of Grandma nickname.
  3. I'm in for Vegas in October. Would love to meet everyone. Joyce
  4. Welcome Lisa - let us know how you are doing? Joyce
  5. Phyll - wow, how scary. So happy you saw a physician. It is so difficult to feel what the correct fill should be. We want to lose and have restriction, yet - the side affects with too much causes problems. Hugs. Joyce
  6. Feathered Pipe Ranch is in Helena, Montana. It is gorgeous there.
  7. Lori - a yoga retreat is a vacation focused on daily yoga sessions. Any level of yogi can attend - from "never" been to a class to experienced "stand on your head" yogis. Held in vacation locations and focused on improving connection with inner self and improving life individually. Yoga improve flexibility and allows stretching of the body. Boosts the immune system and promotes relaxation. Unlike other business/sports pursuits, yoga expresses that what you are able to do today, is exactly correct. NO competition. You and your matt. I practiced for 10 years after I was no longer able to compete on the tennis courts and long distance biking. The natural progression in aging. I highly recommend it. Could be a wonderful way to make new friends in SLC. There is an amazing retreat near you called the Feathered Pipe Lodge. Movie stars go there too. I've been there 3 times.
  8. Janet - resort looks wonderful. I've been to that area 3 times attending yoga retreats. Twice on Isla Mujeres, once 2 hours south at Yoga Tulum. A two hour bus ride to Mayan ruins of Chichenitza is well worth the effort. An amazing, hugh ruin. Tulum ruins are closer, but much less spectacular. I need to travel again - I'm jealous. Julie - so sorry to hear of horrible pain. Praying for resolution soon. Kurby - welcome. Jump in and join us.
  9. Thanks Linda & Arlene for comments on DH. He is a real character and so full of energy. A loving, generous man. Enjoyed my lunch with trainer. We became very good friends in the 2 years that he trained me. Had not seen him for 2 years. He is NOT a fan of lap band so I'm determined to make it to goal to prove how well it can work. Like Janet's trainer, he thinks he knows everything (31 yrs. old) Let's wait until he is 67 and see how easy it is to stay slim and healthy.
  10. I was up early this morning. Took Gizmo to groomer, went to store, gassed up convertible, then back home for shake for breakfast. Having lunch with my trainer - I worked with him for 2 years, then he took a position at a university as director of fitness (for students and faculty).
  11. Lori - I'm the wrong one to ask about gardening. Think Karen & Eva are the experts there. I only have pots and planters on my deck. Hire a great landscaper and make it gorgeous. As I remember, your DH enjoy the yard.
  12. Eva - Judy did get the part. Happy to hear it. Re: DH & Special Olympics - he is a volunteer and is their official photographer. He was awarded one of top volunteers in the world for Special Olympics two years ago. If you have a moment check out his website @ Welcome to pixofevents.com! A United States Construction, Inc. Charity where he posts work he does for many charities. It will allow photos to be printed at no charge. We also fund our own charity Photos of Love which creates memory photos for individuals with life threatening illnesses. He is 73 and still works full time in our companies too. Such energy.
  13. Great - rude comments from nosey neighbor. Usually caused by jealousy. I'll send her some positive energy and hope she puts a lid on it. Congrats on getting so many boxes emptied. I'm positive it will be lovely when you are settled. Loved Janet's suggestion to take a break and shop a bit. At least, find the nearest Starbucks. Hope Karen did well with her dental appt and I know she was going straight to the lake. She will be missed. Cheri - will parents ever learn to give certificates and not gifts to teachers. Oh well, at least they attempted to acknowledge your dedication.
  14. Jodi - Fire Island weekend sounded wonderful. Judy - this will be my 7th or 8th trip to Sanibel - but first for grandchildren. Sorry you are so far from there, but thought I'd ask. I won't miss the chance to meet all my friends here, whenever I can. Having a massage today and DH left this morning for Kansas Special Olympics summer games in Wichita. He will be gone until late Sunday and I have the house to myself. Will enjoy the quiet. The athletes will enjoy all the photos he will take. Think this is the 8th year he has gone.
  15. Judy - Are you near Sanibel Island? I'm taking grandkids there in late July. Would love to meet you. Joyce I know Laura is on the Atlantic side north of Miami a couple hours, so not too close.
  16. Phyl - sending prayers for your son. Please let us know how he is doing? And -- what a day you had. That text message was something and the story behind it. What is happening to our world? Time for bed - sleep tight, ladies and have sweet dreams. Joyce
  17. Welcome home, Karen. Such a newsy message. Love the donation to shelter, since Tankers caregiver is so cheap. And, wow, to make Tanker his own monogrammed travel bag - I'm very impressed. Clean garage - I feel guilty - still have not hosed out the winter grime in mine.
  18. Judy - haven't heard of it, but let us know what you think. Lori - congrats and being in your new home. Enjoy the setup and focus on food and exercise next week. We are all here for you. Laura - the graduation Swim/party sounds like fun. Jessica - congrats on getting to the gym. great job. Had a wonderful time with DD at the nursery getting flowers and sharing time on my deck planting in pots. No yard flowers, just the deck. Looks so pretty this morning. On my way to doggie obedience school. An hour of hard walking and hard work. Joyce
  19. Hi Kendra & Peaches Kendra - sorry to hear you were uncomfortable. I agree with Peaches, You CAN stay under 300 and continue to lose. Peaches has shown us and we can do it too. Joyce
  20. Janet - love that you can go out - as you are. No longer care what ppl think. Confidence built on wise choices and hard work. Go girl. Welcome cristi - Prayers with you on June 1. It was easy for me and hope it will be for you too. Judy - great advice on the dog. And congrats on another 10 lbs. You rock. Re: tattoo - our daughter works now at Four Seasons and they have a no tattoo code. She wears a bandaid to cover hers on her ankle. Good advice, Janet. Car is all dried out now.
  21. Laura - beware of the DOG. My maltipoo will be 2 yrs. old on June 25. We are in obedience school for the second time. He has been getting me up twice a night for 2 years. Feel guilty when I leave him alone more than 4 hours and hire a sitter when gone longer than that. Also my DH will NOT be in charge of him. So, when I take grandkids to Florida for vacation, will have dog sitter live in with Gizmo. Nelson can wait a little longer - don't do it....
  22. Cheri - So informative to hear about how much fill/ changes in band with weight loss. Being only 4 months into this, I'm constantly learning. But it is becoming easier. Thank heavens. You day with the girls sounded delightful and ability to handle the seizures, loving and caring. Janet - you were right, once the tattors are gone, cravings drop off. Thanks again. DH & I took a 3 hour road trip in convertible to check out site of wedding we will attend on June 22nd. He will take the pix for the event and I will drive alone later - so I don't have to be there all day. 90 degrees in KC today and sunny.
  23. LauraK & Jessica - time to relax is great. Phyll - so sorry about your not feeling well - but enjoy the concert. Eva - you will find others who do not work and can spend time with you once you retire. But I like my own company and not scheduling around someone else too.
  24. Eva - what a great sister - pulling weeds for her. And great exercise. Love it when my butt hurts and always feel, maybe it is a few inches higher. Janet - enjoy the relaxation today. Sex and the City is wonderful. Hope your friend feels better so you can go. We have Forks & Screens and can buy tickets ahead and be served in the theater. No crowds that way and we went @ 3 p.m. Not evenings.
  25. Non scale victory - NSV congrats, sweetie. Take your measurements and record them. Our journey results are not always reflected on the scale. Way to go. Keep up the great work. Joyce
