  1. I received a fill 2 weeks ago. Two days after my fill I was sick with acute bronchitis. My band feels so tight now and I have terrible acid reflux. Plus my back is killing me. Has anybody had this happen. I can only get down very small amounts of water and food. I am so thirsty. Good news lost 12 lbs in 2 weeks.I was banded in Mexico and do not have a local doctor. I went to a clinic and wanted to get IV fluids because I thought I was dehydrated and they would not touch me because of the band. I have fills through the Fill Center and they would not even call her for advice. I have read that alot of people have an defill and let things go back to normal. I can tolerate not eating but the discomfort in my back is driving me crazy. Any advice would be appreciated.:help:
  2. My son-in-law had gastric by-pass at Atlanta Medical by Dr. Dixon and he almost killed him..so I would say you wouldn't have been better off seeing him. If it had not been for a doctor at Eastside in Snellville referring him to a doctor at Emory he would have died. He kept going to the emergency room telling them something was wrong only to be sent home. He ended up having a lesion on the part of the intestine that was attached to his pouch. It is a horible hospital. There are several doctors at Dekalb Medical that are familiar with the lap band. I would report Atlanta Medical for sure. They are very negligent even to there own patients. So I wouldn't think it is because you were not there patient it wouldn't have mattered.
  3. I was banded 9/9/06 in TJ by Dr. Kuri. Was a very good experience. I live near Athens. Have not had a fill yet. Plan to go back to MX for first fill. Does anyone know of or attend a support group near Atlanta?
  4. I need some advice. I am 1 1/2 weeks post op. I cannot tolerate purred food unless it is very smooth. I have been throwing up if it has the least little lump in it. This morning I had a hard time getting down fluids. I am worried. I have thrown up a couple of times and hope my band has not slipped. I can feel liquid going down my stomach. I don't know the signs of dehydration but was told that dehydration can make your stoma swell. Any advice from anyone that has had similar symptoms.
