  1. I am 3 months post op and still get the pain on my left side, my doc says it is where the port is placed and it can take awhile to completely go away. He said to only worry if a new pain starts or it becomes unbearable.

    Foods to Avoid

The tinyest amount of chocolate creates heartburn unlike any I have ever had in my life.
  3. I am doing good thanks for asking. I did have my first stuck event lastnight trying to take a pill but tonight I am past it and feeling pretty good.

  4. I am a burger addict and was so scared I would never get another one. I am not sure why but most foods I loved before smell and tast different. I am Mexican so I love all the spices and cheese. I went to dinner the other night and could not handle the smells in the reastraunt so giving it up has not been hard. I got banded Jan 4 so I don't know if it goes away or not. I am a big chicken not to mention a hard head and if I can do this anyone can.
  5. I have had my bad days too. My nieghbor had the band and instantly started losing but I have struggled with just 12lbs. I know its only been a short time so I have to tell myself it is ok. I go for my first fill 2/9 so hopefully it will help. Hang in there.

  8. I had alot of nausea too and my doc reminded me i could have skim milk, it seem to coat the stomach and ease the nausea. I am 14 days out and I feel better than before the surgery but the second and third day I though I wasnt going to make it. I couldnt get comfortable anywhere. Walking , gas X and the heating pad saved me. It will get better. I'm not a good paitent, I am very whiney so if I can do it anyone can.
  9. I went through Tricare instead of staying on base because of the number of people waiting on the list. From first appointment to surgery was 4 1/2 weeks. I am 14 days post op and very happy with the way everythings has gone. The first 3 days were the worst but I feel really good now. Better than before surgery.

    Enlist in the Navy

As a spouse of a marine they make it hard for you to qualify to go overseas with your spouse. The military's reasoning is special medical needs and dietary needs may not be met in certain cituations. I waited 2 years to complete our tour in Okinawa, Japan. The enlisted in the seminar with me were told and had to sighn a paper stating the knew they would not be allowed to reenlist. Amy

    Please help me!!!!

You’re not alone; I too am a week out. I have had surgery on other things and it is usually takes a couple of weeks to get your energy back. Most of the energy you have is going to healing your body. I have lost 11 pounds since Jan 4. Amy
  12. My PCM made the referral , it was a week before i got in as a new paitent . At that appointment I had a psych and nutrition eval, it took four days to get report to Tricare. Within 12 hours I had approval. So from begining to banded it was 3 weeks. I am still kind of shocked at how smoothly it went. Banded Jan.4 , 2010
  13. Ready for a new start in the new year.
