  1. I should have said I've been having 3 meals and 2 snacks a day and im still really hungry. I do get stuck on solids though if I don't chew really good.
  2. My last fill was a month ago. I have 6.5 ccs in a 10 cc band. I've lost 10 pounds but I'm so hungry. My meals consist of things like 3 oz of tilapia and steamed broccoli or a 3 oz pork chop with green Beans. I eat like that everyday. My calories average 1200 a day but I go to bed hungry and wake up hungry the next morning, My surgeon would like for me to wait until April but I'm thinking about going back before this month is over. Would you or would you wait?
  3. I wonder that too. I don't want to mess up by over eating but I don't want to get another fill right now either. Some days I'm really hungry and my band feels like it's not even there. Then other days it's so tight that I end up getting stuck.
  4. I told mine that I'm eating about a cup of food at a time and he said I should only be able to eat 3/4 of cup. Is that right? When I eat the cup I don't feel full I just stop eating b/c I know that's enough. If I were over eating wouldn't I feel some pressure in my chest or something? Do any of you know what Allergan's official word is on this? I tried searching their site but all I can find is portion sizes and not how much/little to eat. Thanks everyone!
  5. Breakfast is hard for me. When I get up I have meds I have to take on an empty stomach. Then after 30 to 45 minutes I'm ready for my coffee. I eat after I finish my coffee which means some days I never get around to it.
  6. I would think your retaining water. Just make sure your drinking plenty of water and watch your salt/sodium intake. I bet it will come right off.
  7. What do you eat to help fill you up when your really super hungry? The past 2 days I've been absolutely starving. I eat something small every 2-3 hours and I'm still starving. Yesterday alone I had 95 grams of Protein. It's odd b/c last week I had restriction and could barely eat anything. Now I feel like I have none and can eat anything and everything. I think it has something to do with my monthly cycle. I had a partial hysterectomy in September but my ovaries were left. Now they seem to be in overdrive.
  8. Well we don't really have any chain gyms here like Gold's Gym or LA Fitness. I would want to do 1 hour each time 2 times a week. We have one gym with all sorts of equipment, classes, racquetball court, walking track and swimming pool. Then we have another one with no walking track or swimming pool but they do have a boxing ring and there primary focus is on weight training. I guess I'll call to do and see what the fees are. I'm sort of embarrassed to go. I feel like everyone will be staring at me. That's dumb right?
  9. I'll be checking out those recipes also!
  10. Isn't it weird how it works? I wonder what makes it tight sometimes and then loose at others.
  11. My last fill was around 3 weeks ago. For about 10days after that I had to chew really well and I would get stuck easily. Then that time of the month came and I was able to eat anything I wanted with no stuck episodes. Now this week I'm back to chewing really well to avoid getting stuck. Also ever since my last fill when I do get stuck I have to throw like 3 times to get unstuck. It doesn't want to go down or come back up either. Is all this normal?
  12. I think I need one but I'm not sure how to fit it in. How many of you have one? How much do you pay per session? How many sessions do you do a week? If I do it I can only do 2 days a week. Would that really be enough? Where do you find your trainer at?
  13. I've now lost half of what I need to lose!!! I haven't posted much lately because I'm now in college full time again. Losing this weight has given me so much more confidence. I'm doing things now that I never would have done before. I'm loving it!
  14. Oh man. I hope you are able to get an unfill soon and I hope your pain goes away.
  15. How much is in your band now? I have 6.5 CC's in mine and I still don't have much restriction. I'm losing weight and doing well but my surgeon says I'm still eating too much at each meal. Congrats to you!!
  16. Just go slow on buying new pants. I find that shirts last me quiet a while but I drop a pant size every 3 to 4 weeks. You really should go try on some new clothes. It's really fun and you'll be amazed at how much smaller you really are now:)
  17. I changed clothes 5 times before I decided on what to wear and it wasn't because everything was too small, too tight and made me look fat it was because everything I put on fit really good and looked AWESOME! I just couldn't decide what to wear:) So now I sit here in my size 12 jeans, yes 12 and I'm feeling so happy:) I started this process in a size 20 and I'm now a 12. I feel so great! Now that I'm finally in control of my weight I feel like I'm totally in control of my life now. Just had to share with you guys cause I knew you would understand it:)
  18. Congrats!! Now you have me wanting shrimp and scallops:)
  19. Well Allergan the makers of Lap Band are currently trying to get the FDA to approve the band for people with a BMI of 30 WITH other health conditions. If they can get this approval then hopefully more insurance companies will cover it also. I think you did the right thing. My own surgeon says anyone with a BMI of at least 30 is a great candidate. Don't feel guilty. I did at first but I don't now. I couldn't be happier.
  20. Well at least it's normal then but gosh what a pain! I was doing so well until the last few days. It's making me crazy!
  21. That's a great article! Thanks for sharing!
  22. I got 3 bras and 3 nightgowns for $120 total. My bras fit great and my nightgowns are really cute except... I ordered an XLarge and they are WAY too big on me:) I had to return them for a smaller size. I was so happy to see that:) I'm definitely starting to feel like I'm just a little overweight and not fat or huge anymore. I'm feeling so great about myself now.
  23. Way to go girl!! It is expensive but really exciting!
  24. I know 4 other people besides myself that are banded. 2 of them have been banded for 5 years, the other 2 for 2 years and then I've had mine around 5 months. We are all doing excellent no issues what so ever. I think any time someone dies after having a surgery done the family is always looking to blame someone or something it's only natural. A relative of mine though had Gastric Bypass and died 4 months later. From what you ask? Not the surgery, she had a heart attack from a lifetime of being morbidly obese. Also when I was getting prepped for surgery the nurses that were assigned to me were Lap Band Patients also and used my doctor. They honestly told me they had never had any issues and were glad they did it. It was nice and comforting to me to know that they had been where I was and they were doing good:)
