  1. I just started the DVD's this week! It is fun, not real pretty but a lot of fun. Hope you enjoy it:)
  2. After being a nurse in Open Heart Recovery for 5 years, I decided that being fat wasn't what I wanted to be when I got old. There were also personal things like getting kicked off a ride at an amusement park because I was to fat for the safety latch. That was when I hit rock bottom and knew that I had to do something. Now, 8 months later I have lost 35 pounds, gained back 7 and am now down 3. I have had a horrible summer. I was given a 90 day trial period with my doc..... and I totally fell. I went back on JUly 27th and I now have restriction however, the scales are stuck! It is so frustrating to know I have went through so much to be thin yet I am still having the same battle!
  3. I'm in, I am aiming for 20lbs. I am at a stand still and need a challenge to get me on my game. I am so disappointed that I have not lost in 3 weeks! I got a fill on 2/9 but it was only 0.9cc because I had lost an average of 3 lbs. per week. I need to get this weight loss restarted. I didn't really suffer from bandster hell :crying:the first 6 weeks, so I think I am there now! I am down to a 22 from a 24, but I want to be a 20!LOL! Good luck guys:):w00t:
  4. I have the opposite, I never really feel hungry. I am only 3 weeks post op and I have to make myself eat. I have began to eat some soft foods and have gotten food stuck. Ouch!! Burning chest pain that stops me in my tracks!
  5. Hi everyone my name is Janet. I got banded on 12/29/09. I had minimal pain from surgery. I went back to work yesterday and it wasn't so bad. I only worked for 5 hrs. I am a nurse and on my feet non-stop. I am on full liquids moving to soft food on Friday. I can't wait. I have lost 14lbs. so far. 8 since my surgery. I don't really feel hungry but I am starting to miss food. I am so sick of liquids. I am thinking very seriously about starting the soft foods sooner than Friday. I need to get started with exercising and I know it, but I can't find the motivation. My husband is out of town working and I need some support. I knew it wasn't going to be easy but it is way to soon for me to feel like this......HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. I am 6 days post op today too. I know I am probably not drinking enough. I drink at least 3 protein shakes a day. I don't know if you can stretch out the pouch. Today i had soupy mashed potatos. I was looking on here and they have lots of receipes for protein shakes. I am on edge today, yelling at my kids and thinking OMG is this worth it? I know it is but I am just feeling a little down today. My husband works out of town and went back on Monday. I feel kind of lost without him.LOL! I say that we can do this! Keep me posted with your progress. I am trying to learn to navigate the site, but not to good yet.
  7. I just wanted to say good luck with your surgery. I was banded on 12/30/09. My preop diet sucked, slim fast, fruit, yougurt, cottage cheese, and a 10 oz can of vegitarian veggie soup daily....I never want veggie soup again. Now I am on the full liquid phase. It isn't so bad, but I am craving a cheeseburger like a mad woman..LOL! I think that it is all a mind thing (mind over food). I am suppose to go for my 1 week post op tomorrow, but only if the snow stops. The surgery itself isn't so bad. I have had only minor pain. No pain meds for a couple of days now. I look forward to hearing how your journey is going:)
  8. I am post op day 5. I am on the same diet, whatever I can get through a straw. I found dannon light strawberry cream smoothie that are sugar free and low carb(really good). I have also been eating cream of chicken and mushroom Soup (strained). sugar-free fudge pops are a life saver. I also bought some whey Protein 1 scoop in the smoothie =25 grams of protein. I had a hital hernia repair and can not have anything but liquids for the full 2 weeks. It is hard because I have 3 kids to cook for. I haven't really been hungry, I just want to eat what I am cooking for the kids. My husband works out of town which makes it really hard on me. Keep the faith, you can do it:)
  9. I also had my banding on the 12/30. I lost 6lbs pre op. Post surgery I was 264 this morning I was 253. I am afraid that maybe I am not eating enough. I am not hardly hungry. Today was the first day that I actually have felt hungry:) I am mostly just getting my protein shakes and my minimum amount of liquids in. It is very hard, but I know that it will all be worth it in the end.
  10. I was banded 12/30/09 and I am alos having the diaphram pain. I also had a hital hernia repaired and thought maybe that is what it was. However, I am passing a lot of gas and burping. I am so excited about my new way of life:)
