  1. I am out 8 months Love Love Love my band (except for its embarassing gurping that it makes when I eat LOL). I a down 65lbs from a tight size 20 to a loose fitting size 14 so far. Congrats to everyone else on your progress!! You are all doing amazing!! I think I a going to start drinking protein to supplement even though my surgeon is against it. I do not think I am getting enough protein for sure.
  2. It is my understanding that as you are losing weight the "fat pad' around your stomach is also getting smaller. I just got another fill (very small amount). I had 8cc in an 11cc band, and my Dr added .25cc's. I was at my sweet spot and had lost about 7lbs since my last fill. My Dr. told me that she would just give me a little tweak. She also said at some point when your "fat pad" get super small (as thin as a sheet of paper) the band will no longer be able to get it tighter. I think you should get a fill.
  3. Congrats on your loss!!! I only lost 14 in 6 weeks, don't be discouraged. I had my first fill 2 weeks ago and am down another 10. My surgeon told me they do not expect you to lose in the first 6 weeks and if you do it is a bonus :-) Hang in there!! You are on your way
  4. I eat 1/2 cup of food and am full for 3-4 hours so I feel like my band is working in that sense. I was suprised also with how quickly they filled me too. I have another fill appointment on March 10th so I will ask about the restriction and ask if they will check to make sure my band is in place and no streched pouch.
  5. I had my surgery on Jan 7th. I have already had 2 fills and am at 7cc's in an 11cc band. I feel some restriction but I still can eat breads (which I don't do very often only as my cheat meal). I am nervous because I am at 7cc's and it seems that a lot of ppl feel restriction at 4-6cc's.
  6. Thank you for responding makes me feel better and makes sense. I figured it was probably normal but I am all paranoid that the port will flip or something. I need to stop reading some of these threads
  7. I am 5 weeks post op and have not had any port pain since about week 2. Now I am feeling periodic pinching type pain when sitting or getting up. I thought it was from my jeans rubbing but it has not gone away. It is more uncomfortable then hurting. Is this normal? I don't recall doing anything that would have caused the pain. Has anyone else experienced this?
  8. Congrats that is awesome. I wish you the best on your up and coming wedding that is so exciting. What is your goal dress (if you don't mind me asking)? I am 17 days out also and love my band. I am down 16 and not feeling hungry much at all but definetly no restriction. I get my first fill Feb 15th can't wait. Keep up the great work ladies.
  9. I am in Bandster Hell also!!! What a crazy process this is!!! I feel full all the time no hunger pains but I feel like I am going to starve and get dehydrated. I feel exhausted by 5pm! How can a human live on under 500/day for over a week. Diet prescribed by my surgeon: 5-7 days liquid diet (water and whey protien drinks only) 5-7 days soft food diet (low fat refried Beans, pudding, Jello, yogurt, and cottage cheese). Solid diet after that Thank God Bandster Hell is not permanant
  10. Good Luck I am in Highlands Ranch CO and got banded on the 7th. Still recovering but it was not bad.
  11. I also was banded on 1/7/2010. I am unable to drink all the fluids they required so just drinking as much as I can tolerate. I have not been hungry at all. I have however had substance/ wanting to chew withdrawl. I have lost 10lbs so far and I don't know what is normal in the first 6 weeks prior to fill. The paper work the DR sent me home with implied that you will lose for the first 2 weeks and then your hunger will come back and you will be able to eat more. The paper work said that you are to maintain your weight loss until you get a fill. I suppose each person's experience is different.
  12. Tomorrow is my big day :smile2: So excited but a lil neverous !!!
  13. Thanks everyone :blushing: so excited and a little nervous I can't believe that I am having surgury on Thursday !!! WHOO HOO!!!
  14. Just wanted to share I am new to this website but I found out today that my insurance is approved and I have a date to get banded on January 7th of 2010!! So excited
