  1. 9 weeks out, 2 fills & 4.5 cc's & I had an episode from wings & sweet tea. Yes I broke the rules. So not like me. Dangit, I know better. Dry heaves got me scared enough to NEVER try that again!

  3. I understand. my boyfriend had no idea until I lost enough to weigh less than him. he's been so supportive & said it doesn't matter. better health does :-)
  4. Hello fellow teacher! Yes, that's Spring Break for me. It's fine though, summer will work out ok. Just a little frustrating. More time to change old habits I guess :-)
  5. I found out this morning I've been approved for surgery! I'm excited....elated...scared...a bundle of emotions:blink:! The surgery WAS scheduled for March but has to be pushed back to the summer now. My doctor is vacationing during March so that accounts for the delay (and I'm a teacher so no other extended days off until summer) I need advice of what to do between now and summer! That's several months and I don't want to mess up the progress I've made so far. That's plenty of time to slip back into old habits after I've worked so hard to be ultra disciplined for the last few months. I think I'll be OK because I've been really focused in preparation for this life change....but advice please, encouragement...anyone else have to wait all these months/postponed? What did you do in the interim? Thanks so much as usual for all of the love, advice and support from all of you. This is a great site to laugh, cry, vent, etc.... Blessings, Nichelle

  8. March 15th? That's my tentative date....well that or March 16th. Waiting on insurance to say either way. Are you excited, nervous, apprehensive about the liquid diet? I've been testing it out here and there. Not too bad.
  9. I am also a teacher. Spring break bander too..on either March 15th or 16th. Bathroom....I agree! I think only teachers get that! Frito pies, Chili cheese nacho day, chicken nuggets/potato smiles or mashed potatoes...yup weaning off cafeteria was also hard for me. We can do it!
  10. Well said! A very valuable lesson to learn. Taking care of ourselves, loving ourselves and being our best all around (but especially through better health) is so important. Learning this is what drew me to decide to take control of this endless weight loss cycle. I think most of us can say we have a similar outlook...
  11. Great plug for the Rocket Blender. They need to hire you. BUT, don't be so hard on The Ninja:crying:. It's actually a great product. I own one and even owned it's predecessor. Excellent kitchen gadget:tt1:. Enjoy your shakes and your gadget of choice. Best of luck on your weight loss too!
  12. ~~One's best successes come after their disappointments.~~Henry Ward Beecher So very very true. My insurance asked for one more month of diet supervision. I was feeling sort of bummed but reading that gave me encouragement. I love this site! Anyone else going through setbacks when you're alomost there!?!?!
  13. Word came today from insurance. Wasn't a no but wasn't a yes. They requested one more month with the nutritionist. I'm feeling a little discouraged but then again...not. It'll happen when it's supposed to I guess. I've just put in a lot of hard work (even though the ticker doesn't show it ) and kinda feel like this is a setback....oh well, protein shake in the morning....treadmill too!
  14. I'm pre-banded so I've been practicing the chew-chew-chew to get me disciplined enough to eat that way. RICE was once my weakness food....not anymore :-P
  15. Amen TracyNYC! Personally I love me at my size now, even as heavy as I am. I think I'm sexy, vivacious and can run circles around any skinny chick! Now, are there days I don't like how things fit or think UGH..I need to lose weight. YES...but self acceptance no matter your size is so important. It's when my health began to falter that I knew it was time to take action. Losing the same pounds over and over was not a good thing. That's why in this pre-band state i'm embracing my little 4 lbs lost so far! hahahahaha Love repsect and best wishes to everyone no matter why you're losing the weight though. Thing is....WE'RE LOSING AND LIFE IS GOOD!:glare:
  16. 3-5 minutes on the Foreman grill with a little lemon and fresh spices sprinkled/squeezed on top. Not banded yet, but I LOVE fish!
  17. Thanks for posting this! LOVE IT! Although I'm not banded yet (MARCH WOO HOO!) These are great recipes to start with now and try out:tongue2:. I also liked the suggested eating plan...NICE! Down 2 whole lbs at my NUT visit last month :tt1:. Will find out how much more I've lost next week. Not ready for the scale in the bathroom yet...:w00t:obsessive scale watcher UGH! Anywho...thanks again for this post and to everyone for sharing his/her journey. Everyone has been inspirational in one way or another in helping me make my final choice  or did it make me
  18. :sneaky:i don't know how to get mine on there at all
  19. Is there a Katy Area lapband forum on here? I enjoyed reading this thread but was wondering if there's a larger one for all LBandsters in the Katy, Tx area?
