  1. Hello, i was banded on 3/29....I am currently on soft foods at the time. For breakfast I boil 2 eggs, lunch varies from tuna fish to soup, dinner is usually fis and mashed potatoes/sweet potatoes. I was pretty hungry going into the 2nd week but once soft foods started I haven't had any issues with hunger. If anything, I have issue getting everything in for the day. I try to drink a glucerna snack shake (milk based shakes were too rich at the time for my stomach) in between meals to keep me going and get more Protein. Hope this helps....try to get all your protein in...this is very important. Ive lost a total of 32lbs so far.
  2. I used dermabond. I have no known allergies so this worked out perfect for me and I have no scars. Its 4 days post op and I feel really good...my incisions do not itch, the small incisions are completely healed and I'm just waiting for the glue to fall off. They said it takes 5 to 10 days to heal but I'm at day 4 and almost completely healed. I'm still a little sore when I wake up in the mornings but besides that I feel great. Can someone please fill me in on how to put my ticker on here? When I paste the link it still does not show the image. I assume I'm doing something wrong lol.
  3. I am 3 days post-op. My md used surgical glue to reduce scarring and I must say they are healing very nicely. The small incisions are mostly gone and they do not hurt. The port incision is still red and tender but it is healing and the swelling is going down. You can expect some redness and soreness.
  4. I am still using my optifast to meet my protein goal. I dont know if you followed a liquid diet pre-op but if you have any leftovers, use those.
  5. Hello everyone, I was banded March 29th so I am 3 days post-op. The only problem I am having is the gas and bloating....I see others have suggested gas-x strips so I will be picking some of those up ASAP. Ive been walking everyday and it helps a little but still bloated. No problems with nausea, they gave me a pill before surgery for nausea and they also placed a patch behind my ear for nausea that lasts 3 days. I am still doing my shakes. So far, I'm only able to do 2 shakes a day...My surgery was at 730AM and I was out of the hospital by 12...everything ran so smoothly. Dr. Hugeut is the best!
  6. Hi....I also have Aetna for insurance and they do cover the surgery. I have to do the 3 month program before my surgery (which is what I am doing now) did you have any issues with Aetna at all? I havent had any issues thus far but I had bad experience with Cigna some years back so kind of nervous lol
