  1. Hi Tidefan...I havent had a fill yet so my question is regarding fills.....did you feel any changes from your fills before the 4th one? I feel like if I really wanted to I could eat whatever, although I havent. I'm afraid I will probably be like you and need several fills to get any results since I have little restriction now.
  2. Its a little cheaper here in Alabama than in most of the US... $13,900. That covers surgery and a year of fills. As far as what to expect after surgery...I honestly didnt have much gas pain. My surgery was around 9am....I was home by 1:30pm. I had this uncomfortable feeling in my stomach, it wasnt hurting, just very uncomfortable. I was up a lot when I got home...walking and just in general moving. I was also eating Gas-X strips left and right. I would say by 9pm that night I could tell a big difference, and most of the discomfort was over. I never hurt from the actual surgery, I was just sore...like I had worked out really hard and the muscles were strained in my stomach. 2 weeks out and the only soreness I have is around my port site and its nothing major....I am anxious to get a fill...I started mushies this week and am able to eat more than I know I am supposed to. I am a newbie to this but will be glad to answer any questions you have...
  3. Hello Ted....I was banded on Jan 9th and so far so good...
  4. Hi Mike...I had surgery on January 9th. I am 6'0" and the day of my surgery I was at 302. So far so good...the only real issue I have had is the dreaded gas pains afterwards. By the 3rd day for the most part mine was gone. Although I am a newbie I will be glad to answer anything I can for you.
  5. I was banded yesterday around 9am. So far so good. The dreaded gas pains lasted until about 9pm. I walked a lot around the house which seemed to really help. I was unable to sleep in the bed as I was having what felt like muscle spasms in my stomach. Had a fairly restless night but overall this morning I feel good. I am tolerating water/jello/popsicles well and hope this continues. I hope everyone else is doing as well.
  6. Wasn't able to download. Kept getting a VB error when "submitting" payment.
  7. I'll be banded on January 9. I would do it today but no openings until the 9th.
  8. Another Alabama bandster will be added to the list on January 9, 2007. Dr. Schmitt will be doing my surgery.
  9. Hey...from Birmingham here...considering the Lap-Band....would love to talk to someone that's considering it or has already been through it
