  1. Thanks everyone for your kindness and words of wisdom. Honestly, I haven't been on here because I have just been too sick. The vomiting and nausea persists, and now after two ER visits, I do have some more info. It seems my situation maybe very similar to yours, Kara. It took over 30 minutes for one ounce of Fluid to "make it's way down". I see a surgeon on Tuesday for a possible stint. I'll keep you posted! donedidit (how prophetic my screen name choice was!)
  2. My VSG was a one week ago, as of tomorrow. I spent 5 nights in the hospital due to uncontrolled vomiting. Surgeon says things went beautifully with no complications with the VSG. Vomiting has eased but CONSTANT nausea still persists. I have felt so bad I haven't had my laptop on since after surgery. Anyone else do this? Can you help?
  3. I'm scheduled for the 23rd too, but my surgery will be here in Costa Rica. I look forward to comparing details with you all afterwards! ~ Prayers and best wishes!
  4. Well I have 8 days left until my surgery. I am 41, and have a BMI of 38. I am not taking vitamins now, only eating low carb, high protein. I'll see what further info I can get on Monday. So nice to have your feedback!
  5. Thank you SOOO much for all the awesome information! I am calling the surgeon office on Monday to discuss.
  6. My surgeon has offered no special diet instructions for my upcoming VSG. Should I be worried or concerned about this? I am counting calories, just because I have made my mind up for a lifestyle change, but still... :biggrin0:
  7. It is exciting! I am nervous about the details - I'm a detail chick... dut from what I read on these boards there is little regret. I am still looking for someone that has had their surgery in Costa Rica - haven't found anyone yet. Thanks for being encouragers!
  8. Thanks, Tiffykins. So nice of you to reply so quickly! I think I need to ask my surgeon about this, for sure!
  9. After months of thinking, researching, and planning, my time is finally here. My VSG is scheduled for 10/23. I can't believe I'm doing this, but I am very excited!
  10. What are staple lines? My surgery is scheduled for 10/23, and that's the first time I've heard of that term. Yikes!
