  1. I was banded in Nov 2009 and was really excited and interested in the whole process. I started at 205 lbs and am hoping to get to 122 lbs. Well, I am 8 months post op and I have ONLY lost 18 lbs!!!! I believe that my problem is that my surgeon doesn't seem to like to give me fills. I have had about 4 fills and am at 6cc in a 10cc band. I just don't think that he hears me when I am talking about how I don't feel "restriction" like everyone else. I definately have NOT found my "sweet spot" and so desperately want to. Also, my husband and I are ready to get pregnant but I was hoping to loose a good amount of weight first....I am so frusterated...any advice? Please?

  4. Hi All, I just wanted to post my surgery experience. I was banded by Dr. Steven Bonomo from Greenville, NC. The hospital is in Washington, NC though, only about a 40 minute drive from his office. The staff at the hospital couldn't have been more thorough and kind. I initally thought that I would stay overnight but found out only after my surgery that I would go home that same day when I was ready. Well the surgery was timely and I was up and out of the bed going to the bathroom only hours after recovery. I can't say that I remember seeing the Dr. after the surgery but there was no need to see him. The nurses were able to tell me everything I needed to know and the anesthesiologist came to check on my iv a little later. Amazing experience... I would do it all over again.

  6. Don't be scared. It was such an easy surgery. I had minor pain for maybe 2 days after surgery and that was only when I was getting up from laying down. It's a breeze. The only hard part is the liquid diet the first 2 weeks but from what I understand it only gets easier from there. Good luck!
  7. Hey, I'm in Greenville, NC and I am also getting banded in Nov. Nov 19th actually. <a href="Weight Loss - Diet Ticker"> <img border="0" src="http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/t/wEAkQDz/weight.png"></a>
  8. Hey there, I am getting banded on Thursday, Nov 19th. I get the same reaction from people, that I am ruining my holidays but they have no idea at how releived I am that I am going to be banded through that part of the year. As for the pre-op diet. I am struggling. I am only a BMI of 37 so my Dr. said that my liver is probably not too fatty but I feel like I am in mourning over the foods that are about to "die" in my life. I have been eating everything in sight but I know that after the surgery I will really make the changes and that will be all she wrote...
