  1. WOW!!You look mahvelous, my dear! Happy Bandiversary. :smile2:
  2. My doctor has me on 2 days clear liquid and 2 days full liquid. I have to admit, that after the fill, I count that as day 1, then the next day is day 2.
  3. After my 2nd fill, 2-17, I think that for now I have hit my "sweet spot". I just have to know when I am done eating! If I eat too much, or something with skin, like peppers, I will pb and slime alot. If I stop, or don't eat what I am not supposed to, I am good, now. I have lost 5 1/2 lbs since the challenge. I was plateaued for about 2 months before that. Hurray! for me. Thanks for your challenge and support.
  4. Welcome Chris, best of luck in your new life. Happy Birthday:thumbup:
  5. Bless you Ruthie, That is a letter from deep in your soul.. If she doesn't understand after that, her loss, my Dear. You have much to live for, and I agree that your life is in danger if you continue on the path that your parents are on. Once again, God bless you and your future weight loss. Karen
  6. Hi Froggie, I am 61, had my surgery in Oct.2009. I don't think a young person like you, should think you are too old! I feel better than I have in years. I am in onderland, and feel great about myself!
  7. Gloria, Congratulations, on your journey. It is a wonderful birthday for you. Keep up the great work, and bless you for sharing with us all. :wink2:
  8. Yah, that. I also had tummy rumbling, loudly. I was in church and my daughter-in-law looked at me, she heard the:blushing: rumbling. I wasn't hungry, just tummy rumbling. Haha!
  9. So glad to hear that you came thru like a champ. You probably won't see much weight loss right away. But, it will come off. I was actually hungry after the medicine wore off. A little gelatin or drink will work great.
  10. Yeah! for you. Welcome to the world of Lapband. Bless your smooth sailing!
  11. Wow! 100 lbs is great. That is my goal, too. I hope that by May I will be down 80 at least. I started my 6 month dr visits in April 2009. I had my surgery on 10/30/2009. I have to date lost 65 lbs. I know that it is hard, and I can't wait for the 100 lb day. Congrats to you!!!!
  12. Yes, my Dr says that I needed to drink liquids, clear for 2 days, and full for 2 days. I cheated a little on Sunday. Wed was my fill, had a little chicken patty and 1 perogie. Everything came up. Was stuck all day yesterday. I was swollen. Todya, I am not stuck, but taking it real easy on food.
  13. I had so many failed weight losses. When I documented mine with the Nut, I could go all the way back to TOPS in high school. But, then I was considered the "skinny" girl in TOPS. I was only a little "chubby". Over the years, I probably gained and loss 200+ lbs. That is why I wsa glad to get the band. I have faith that this will do it for me. I have loss 67 lbs, 34 of which I lost in the 6 months before banding. I have had the band since 10/30/09, but count my weight loss back to April when I 1st went to the seminar that changed my life. Welcome to a new life with Lapband. Karen
  14. Yes, Ladykc, Best wiches, hoe that you are feeling well as can be expected. Take it easy, follow diet restrictions, and get rest. Also, WALK,WALK,WALK!!!! Gets :thumbup:the gas out.
  15. I, also, had a bad weekend. I got a fill on Wednesday, I have restriction! But, I was on liquids and then full liquids and thought I could eat something yesterday. I pb'd 2x. Yuck, so I am doing full liquids again. But, I lost 5 lbs, hope they stay off after I start regular foods, again. :frown:
  16. Good for you. I know its not magic, but I too, knew that I wouldn't stick with a diet until I lost all my weight. I get bored. Even now, I am bored, but just had a fill. I, finally, have restriction and will continue losing because of it. I was surprised to realize that my neck is smaller than it has been in over 8 years. I used to have to put an extension on my chain fit it around my neck comfortably. Today, I took the extension off for the 1st time. It fits perfectly! hurray for me and hurray for all of us working hard to improve our health and looks! Bes t of luck. You go Girl!!
  17. Pennreporter, Yes, it is one hell of a trip! That is why we are taking our time. I am sure that after the trip, we will have to relax for a year or 2 before we try again:biggrin:. We drove to ND 2 years ago for a wedding, and my sister drove from Az. They are almost exactly the same distance apart. My daughter has a friend who had surgery 1 1/2 years ago, she went from about 250 and size 24 to 120 and size 6. So, we kind of knew also what was happening. She was a self pay in Mexico. After she had it done, my daughter started researching drs in Fl. Turns out our dr had his done by the same dr in Mexico. He also trained under him. Mexico dr was on Oprah show. Anyway, my daughter had a rough Dec/Jan. Sick husband, sick children and school out. She is finally getting back on track too. My dr requires 2 days clear liquid after fill, the 2 days full liquid. So, I won't be eating normal until Monday. But, will try Sunday to see what passes. I think 5 cc will be my sweet spot, or I hope. By the way, I was scared to death to even start this journey, now, I am so happy, and hope that I can make goal. I never did with WW. My only diet plan that I used.
  18. Thanks, for support about the trip. My husband and I are taking 3 days/nights out to Az, staying for about 7-10 days. Then a train ride to Grand Canyon. From there we are heading to my hometown in ND. Then seeing my Dad at rest home in Minn. Then heading home to Florida. We plan on traveling about 1 month. I am going to have fill 2 tomorrow. I have 3.5 cc right now. Actually, dr was surprised I did so well on 3.5. I think I will gt another 1.5, that's what he gave my daughter last week. She has been a real slow loser. I think she has lost a total of 10 lbs in 3 months. She really needs to be on the challenge. BUt, I guess she isn't interested. Oh well, her loss(no pun intended)!
  19. Pennreporter, you will look awesome in your bathing suit for the cruise. All the other ladies will be jealous, and the men will have oogle eyes! Good luck to all of us. Right before summer is cool. My May is starting with a cross country trip from Fl to Az, and my 1st ever trip to the Grand Canyon.
  20. You live in Minnesota, and have been indoors alot. Maybe you have SAD. I know that when I had cabin fever, or SAD in the:sad: winter, I felt like that.
  21. I go for my 2nd fill tomorrow. I hope that it gives me more restriction. I still get hungry and can eat a lot more than 1/2 cup. I try to limit myself by using a salad plate to eat my meals, and also, a salad fork. My Dr did not give me a fill in Jan. as he said I was loosing a average 1 1/2 a week. Not this month, I am bouncing between 2 lbs. So, I am hoping that this fill and this challenge will give me a boost.
  22. Ok, I've added my information. Thanks. I hope that this will give me a shot in the arm. I've never done a challenge before.
  23. Congrats, Your success story is hope for everyone. And holding is the best. :thumbup:Goodluck in the future. Go with our blessings.
  24. I'm in, Cinco de Mayo is my 40th wedding anniversary. I wouldn't mind being near goal by then. I have about 40 lbs to loose. Yeah right!
  25. Good for you, will power( I often call it won't power) is the key to the whole thing. You can do it! And, yes, I also, lived for the boullion, loved beef. Hang in there.
