I never struggled with my weight as a child. I was active, loved sports and participated in any sport available. As a teenager, the peer preasure never bothered me. I remember my friend thought I was "chunky" she was 98 lbs and I was like 125 lbs. Hmmm.... I looked at myself and eventhough she was very skinny, I knew I sure wasn't fat. So again that didn't bother me. The weight started to pile on during my pregnancy. A whole whopping 50 lbs. Well after the birth of my son I worked out etc... and eventually got down to about 135lbs. I was happy. Then it seems after reaching my mid 30's the weight started to go on and wouldn't come off. So I started to diet and the lbs came off but just as quickly went back on and then some. So that's how I spent the last 8 years or so. I hated my weight and it kept climbing. Everytime I look in the mirror I see my mother in me. Don't get me wrong, I adore her, but she is quite a bit heavy, has heart disease, diabetes, water retention, etc.... THAT!!!.... made me do what I am doing. I chose the slimband because I believe it will help me stay healthy and prevent me from getting these illnesses like my mother. I researched my options and I went to Toronto on October the 15th and got banded. Now here I am feeling rather alone and not sure where to go from here.
