I'm here to help...
I don't even care about my pain, I just hate to see them hurting. Dad has been furiously meeting with is attorneys the last few days. He wants affairs in order as they say. It's just so sad. I will pray for you and your family...this is really a difficult time for you all. I do remember not caring about my pain and just wanting to stop the pain my loved ones were feeling, tough place to be. The only thing you can do right now is your best..to be there for your parents...right now they do really need you. Be Blessed. Keep sharing about how you feel.

Julie I don't know you, but I do know personally that depression can become very serious if it is not treated...You are reaching out and talking about it and thats a great step forward...I am hoping that you will consider anti-depressants and also continue to share your pain and frustration...sharing the way you feel right now will probably help someone else...you will be in my prayers..be blessed and go get a medication evaluation for anti-depressants!!!!

How Do I Manage Anxiety?
Ok, I am pretty tough and can deal with a lot of stress, I thought and I know that I use to eat to deal with emotions. But I did not think it would be so difficult to manage my anxiety after being banded. I went through a time when I was just grumpy, now I feel so vulnerable, tonight I almost started crying in a group because I got so mad at a person in the group I was facilitating...that can't happen..I get out , exercise, and other stuff to relax...anymore suggestions!:mad2:

I am thankful for life and the ability to see my kids grow up and live a better life that I did. I am also thankful for my husband, he has always supported everthing that I do...he is kind, loving, and spoils me all the time.

Well thank you Apples!!! First, I want to agree with you that this thread is a daily dose of what I also need. You all do seem really friendly and thats exactly what I need, is friends who understand. As far as me I live in Moreno Valley, CA. I was banded 3/3/09; I am married and have 5 kids and 4 grandchildren. I have lost 47lbs so far and have about 95 to go!!! My husband and I are empty nesters, our baby went to college this fall in Texas. So my life has really changed a bit. I am a therapist by trade and love working with children and teenagers. I have been working out at least 2 hours a week with a private trainer since 2005, who actually talked me into getting banded because he had other clients who had done so and were doing great. I actually lost 40 lbs when I started working out with him, then slowly gained it back..the poor man felt so sorry for me and I felt sorry for him to have a cllient that gained all their weight back and some LOL LOL. My highest weight was 293 last September, I could barely walk. I have arthritis real bad in my knees. So loosing this 47 lbs feels so good because I can also most jog!!!! and my knees almost feel new!!!! Well I want you all to know that I rushed home after a long day and grabbed my computer just so I could get on this site...and I look forward to the friendships. Really tired now going to call it night.. Someone brought up the topic of being "Thankful" and I will say that I am thankful for being able to spend time with my grandchildren with out feeling pain or being embarrssed by how I look...I know they love me anyways, but I didn't feel like I love myself...Be Blessed.- I'm here to help...
Hello, I really don't need help right now...but I know I will how do we get mentors or buddies?- Potato Chips
Chips don't bother me, but I feel so guilty like I am wasting my time getting banded...but I won't lie they sure taste good and go down well...don't keep them in house..to tempting LOL:drool:- Potato Chips

Be patient it will take time. I think that whenever I stop eating or restrict eating my brain thinks that I should be loosing a lot of weight. However, as I have found the lap-band weight loss process gradual and takes time. So I have to change my thinking and be happy that I am no longer gaining weight but loosing instead. Good Luck, try a support group.:tongue2:- Stop Dressing Like a Fat Woman?
Everyone is always teasing me about my big clothes. The fact is that I don't want to spend too much money on clothes..I thought I would wait a little longer to buy some clothes...and you know there may also be some underlying stuff going on? My husband asked me when I was cleaning out my closet, I don't know...unlike me, not knowing...but It could be a brain malfunction:) - I'm here to help...
