Astrasmom passed away
Sorry to be the bearer of bad, sad and heart breaking news. It breaks my heart to report that we have lost our dear Astrasmom. She did not survive the heart op. I`m extremely emotional this morning. I screamed and wailed after receiving the message from her darling husband. Dawn will be dearly missed. She passed away on the 27th of August in the hospital. The op was scheduled for the previous Wednesday. Dawn`s husband reported that they held a memorial service for her last saturday and about 200 people attended. Dawn`s husband reported that she loved her lapband. My condolences to the family. I wish them peaceful existence since this could be heart breaking for them.

Cindylou, good to read from you. I`m glad the scale moved for you today. Stalls are bummers but I guess it`s the body`s way of adjusting and re-adjusting to the weight it`s shedding. Hope Astrasmom is heard from soon. Missing everyone else. Get in touch, you all.

I`ve hit that plataeu again. I stalled and marginally gained weight. I`m opting for marginal because it is less than a lb. Hope to read from all of you soon. It`s getting lonely on this thread now and I`m still worried about Astrasmom. I`ve left he a pm so hopefully, she responds soon.

You will be alright on the track on the 19th. Good luck, anyway. How is the maintenance stage going for you? I`m alright, I guess. It`s weighing day tomorrow. Not looking forward to it but hey? I really hope to read from Astrasmom soon.

Ticking along fine apart from today. I don`t feel banded at all. I could eat a whole cow if I let myself, what a bummer! Hope you`re all doing well. Has anyone heard from Astrasmom yet? It`s been a while since I came accross a posting from her. I hope she is recovering well.

The jailbreak dash looks / sounds like fun. Wish I was accross the pond because I would have joined you. Which of the days is your 41st? The 18th or 19th? Well, Happy Birthday in advance in case it escapes me. The half marathon sounds good too.

Been doing well the last few days. I tried 8 mile jog and brisk-walk with 6 kilos of weight yesterday and failed miserably. I needed the weights for weight training along the hike but found that it was too heavy for me to carry around for the rest of the journey. It`s incredible that my heart had been carrying multiples of that weight in a yo-yo fashion for years. I managed to complete the course but running was done for less that 2 miles of the journey and most of the journey was reduced to rambling. I enjoyed my ramble though. It beats sitting in a couch. Hope you`re all doing well.

Hope you`re all doing well. I`m alright. Everything going according to plan at the moment. Has anyone heard or read from Astrasmom? I`m wondering how she`s doing. It`s been a week since the op. Whenever you`re able to read this hun, bear in mind the you`re in our thoughts and prayers.

It could be water retention, HDmama. Doing 23mile bike ride yesterday could mean that you drunk a lot of water and had still retained some when you weighed the following morning. Good to register that determination to continue and trying to stop thinking about it. Your in-laws live quite near me then. Do you come accross the pond to visit at times? I`ve been very good with the diet today but did not exercise. As a matter of fact, I had not done any routined exercise over the weekend but I don`t feel guilty about that since I feel I need to rest my body. Possibly going for brisk-walk tomorrow morning.

Hiya HDmama, it`s been a while. Good to read from you. 3lbs loss in a month is great. A loss is a loss and is just under the average loss so well done. Slow weight loss can be frustrating but I`m happy for you since you`re losing the inches. Keep up the good work. Yeah, the upside of the illness is the weight loss but the problem is trying to keep it off on recovery. Yeah, I`m in the UK and very close to Wales actually. Do your in-laws come live in the South or North? I was in Newport just two weeks ago as a Rugby groupie. The rain stopped today, hoorah and they`re forecasting sunny Bank holiday weekend. It was dull today with bits of sunshine so I`m hoping it brightens up tomorrow. Keep in touch, hun.

Oh dear, I wish the rain could be fairly distributed. It had been dry today but quite dull. I`m glad your exercise regime is going well. I trust that your brain will adjust to the new eating routine in time. It`s great though to be able to maintain within 2lbs. You`re doing well. I shopped till I dropped today so didn`t have time for exercising but I guess the walking did it. Astrasmom, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Get well soon, hun.

Hi All, I had my fortnightly weigh this morning and lost 4lbs. I guess I should be happy about it but I`m not jubilating yet since I feel that my illness had something to do with the loss. I will see what the next two weeks will bring. Hope you`re all doing great!

Hope you`re all doing well. I`m not feeling very good at the moment, possibly because of the bad weather. It`s been pouring with rain for days now. Astrasmom, how did the op go yesterday? Wishing you speedy recovery.

Hi All, just touching base. Cindylou, 100lbs loss? WOW! must be feeling great, girl. congrats and all these shopping sprees must be exhausting. LOL. Catherine, welcome to the thread, hun and good luck with your preparation towards the race. Your signatory picture looks amazing, quite pretty and Girl, if I looked like that, I would also live in bikini all summer. Good luck with your maintenance towards your 2nd bandiversary. You look fab. Astrasmom, I`m glad that you`re stable. Good luck with the op. on Wednesday. Thank God that your bariatric surgeon drove all that way to remove the fill for you. An amazing Dr. s/he is. I`m sure we can`t all wait to hear from you after the op. Big and warm hugs coming your way. LeighaMason, the eating issue has been a big one but I`m keeping it under control. Well, I`ll see how that gets me on Friday. Hope you`re all doing well.

Hope you`re all doing well. I`m alright. Exercise and eating going well. Actually, the eating side of things going too well. It`s got to a point that I feel like going for a fill but I`m going to refrain from that for about a month since sometimes I get too tight for my liking. I`ve had to restrain myself since last Tuesday though so it`s been a week since I could eat to the max if I let myself. Not looking forward to Friday. Astrasmom, how is it going? Your surgeon`s supposed to be in today. Is s/he operating today? Let us know how it goes. Renee, how`re you doing? Long time, no hear/read!

Astrasmom, my heart goes out to you. How stressful this must be for you. The anxieties alone? I trust you will get through this better that your first op since you`ve moved 111lbs and possibly 119lbs off your frame. The lengths one will go to reach their goal, eh? This is what I call extreme weight loss. More hugs and request for God`s Grace coming your way. Please keep us updated. LeighaMason, I can see from your ticker that you`ve lost another lb. Hoorah, only 3lbs to your goal. Congrats!

Astrasmom hun, I didn`t know about your situation. Oh dear, but at least your medical team is aware of what`s happening and ,working on it. You will remain in my prayers and thoughts and I continuously send the warmest hugs ever, your way. I trust you will be restored pretty soon. Speedy recovery, Girl. Sweetheart, is there anyone who could update us on your progress? God`s Grace be with you and guard you. Hope to read from you soon.

Need some help! Stuck Stuck Stuck!
Okiegirl, hun my guess is that the bread has gone down already and you`re dealing with the swearing. Your best bet is to go on liquid for a day or two before trying solids again. This will give the pouch an opportunity to heal. You`re fortunate not to experience a stuck in 10mths. good achievement!

That`s true. I did not do any exercise yesterday and enjoyed my dinner to the full. It was lovely yesterday but I think I must have over-indulged a little. I walked around the pitch for 90 minutes as I watched rugby today. Fluid intake hasn`t been great but alright. Oh! and after my over-indulgence yesterday, I appear to have developed a phobia for the scales. Just being childish really but I`m not going to weigh myself till next Friday.

I did an hour of circuit combined with boxercise yesterday. It went well. Dinner was a disaster though. I felt extremely thight last night. It`s quite strange because I was perfectly alright at lunch time and had a well-balanced meal. Feeling alright this morning.

Hope you all had good weekends. Good to read from you all. Okiegirl, welcome home. The track awaits you getting on it, hun. What are you doing exercise-wise this week? Astrasmom, congrats on your weight loss of 2lbs last week. That`s wonderful and even moreso with the idea that you`ve only got 8lbs to goal. Wow, you rock, Girl. Cindylou, what a shame about the injury. It`s always a bummer when that happens. Walking is good though, just widen your strides at intervals. Hun, thanks for your querry and advice on the Vitamins. Yeah, I take them, especially at times that I don`t feel like I`m eating well. I`ve fully recovered from my illness now. It was severe abdominal pains that lingered for a long time, causing me to collapse at a point and made it very difficult for me to eat but I kept the drinking going and that helped a lot. I tried, since the illness to exercise yesterday but could only manage 35 minutes of circuit before I collapsed on the floor with exhaustion. I`m going to try circuit training again this evening since we are eating out tonight and tomorrow night and I will not feel I deserve it without exercise. Well, let`s see what the week brings.

Thanks, LeighaMason. I couldn`t post yesterday. Quite a busy schedule and had to go on a trip as well fufilling my rugby groupie duties. I weighed yesterday though and I had broken the stall by 2lbs. I wouldn`t hold much Water with that though! I experimented on Thursday to see whether one can gain up to 5lbs in a day and believe me it`s possible. I managed to gain 3lbs within 4 hours just by drinking almost 3ltrs of still water. It therefore, depends on how one retains water at times. Well, a ltr of water weighs 2.2lbs (1kg). Lesson learnt from that is a daily weigh is still a no-no and I don`t even want to continue with a weekly weigh. I`m going to start weighing fortnightly now. I can`t update this thread now since there have been no update from anyone recently apart from Leigh, who is doing wonderfully anyway. My hope is that you`re all doing great with your challenges. Have fab. weekend, you all.
