  1. How beautiful was that ! I missed that seat sale ! We are goint ot Toronto on Dec 1st, for $120.00, and I thaught that was no too bad ! Yasmina :clap2:
  2. That is wonderful, glad to hear you are both doing well. I know once I do it , it will make a big difference. I am scared ! Thanks so much Yasmina
  3. Once you hit the perfect fill then what ? Does it stay thatway until your body decides it needs more ? Does the band loosen ? Thanks so much Yasmina :hungry:
  4. I have read so much in the past week about everyone's success as well as problems. Sometimes I feel so excited about my decission then I read something that makes me doubt my decision. I know I need this,I have been large the past ten years. On more diets then I care to admit. The last year I have lost 50lbs and able to keep off 40lbs. On the other hand I still need to lose 80lbs. Would you do it again with all the problems, discomfort, success, and the price ? until I actually have my surgery, I think I will be doing lots of rethinking ! Yasmina :omg: :faint:
  5. Well, I do not have at date as of yet, but I am hopeing for the first week of Jan. I will be back in Toronto on the last weekend of Jan I will be in Egypt from Feb 24 - March 20th. I wonder how that will work for me, as I will have to fly in for fills, and stay the weekend. I am from Thunder bay and no one does fills here. Yasmina
  6. Hello, I thought that fills were a good distant apart of each other. How do they determine when you get them? I am planning to go to the same clinic, and I am from out of town. That will be lots of traveling for me. I do go to Toronto every three months, but flights are expensive. How are you feeling ? How was the day after the surgery ? Were you mobile ? Yasmina :hippie:
  7. I am planning to get banded beginning of Jan and I will be traveling to Egypt on the 24th of Feb. Does anyone see any problems with this ? How long after the surgery will I have to wait for a fill, and how long will it take for me to get used to it for travel purposes ? Yasmina
  8. Hello, I am considering the same clinic. When I go to Toronto , I usually stay at the Days Inn 30 Carleton St. I stay there because it is between 80 to 120 a night. It is off of Young St about 5 blocks from Bloor St. It is nice, has a pool. (It is not the Delta Chelsea ) From the map it looks that the clinic is a few blocks down Bloor St . I am sure no matter what, after the surgery it will be a taxi ride. Yasmina
  9. Now don't get me wrong, he is great, A little twisted but good. Having a piece of cake every once in a while is not that big of a deal, but the diet he has me on does not allow for any cheats. If I was not the queen of cheating I would not wear a size 18 pants I will not be banded until Jan Yasmina :hippie:
  10. Well that was not wanted to hear I study Middle Eastern Dance and long hair is a big part in some dances. My hair is long but not thick. I really don't have exyra hair to lose ! I guess it is best to know all this stuff before I am bandae as it will not be such a shock !!!
  11. Yes, the food is great, but when they make six different desserts and I am not talking low fat anything. I thought I did pretty good with only 1/2 a dessert. my personal trainer will beg to differ. As I have always said "Cake, my favorite kind" I have been on so many diets, I am sure they are used to it. I can't wait to get banded, sometimes I am so ready, others I ask myself if I am doing the right thing. My friend says I am just big boned. Well if bones come is rolls of fleshy skin, then maybe I would agree, but we all know that is not true.
  12. I have been reading that lots of people have experienced hairloss. How can you prevent this ? Is it a loss of nutrients from your diet ? My hais is pretty fine to begin with, I would have none left ! Yasmina :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg: :omg:
  13. Hope that everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving ! My inlaws are Italian which means not just turkey but three types of Pasta, rice yams, turnips, corn, mashed potatoes, ect get the picture. As the eating frenzy was occuring i could not help but think how different things will be for me when I am banded. I decided to try to stick to the portion controll thing. With my plate 3/4 full of food, I get from my mother inlaw." You no eat enough, you no like my food ?" I was thinking look at my ass, do I look like I don't like food. I told her I was paceing myself. That worked. I do not plan on tell them about the band. How do the rest of you cope with things like this. After being banded, how long does it take until you can do regular activity ? Yasmina :hippie:
  14. Well that will be wonderful ! I am in Thunder Bay, but I do go to Toronto a couple times a year. :girl_hug: Yasmina
  15. So are you saying that i can have a phone consult and not actually meet the docror until the day of my surgery ? I assuming that I would have to have all my pre opt done my family doctor Yasmina

  17. wow, that is pretty fast. I have not made my apt as of yet , so I am not sure who to go with. I would like to be done early Jan. I never thought they would do a phone consult. I will have to fly in to Toronto, If I could do a phon consult that would be great ! Thanks for the info Yasmina :clap2:
  18. I am not sure, The doctor is Dr Yau ! Yasmina
  19. Hello, What do you think of the prince Arthur medical Center ? Has anyone gone there ? The location is better for me being down Town Yasmina :girl_hug:
  20. Hello All, It seems that everyone is pretty happy with there band and everything seems to have gone well.I am glad to here that people are able to keep it a secret. I am not sure who I would tell if anyone. I live in northern Ontario and would have to fly in for fills: but I LOVE Toronto, and any chance I get to go, I am there. How long is the wait for the surgery after you make your first appointment ? I looked at the scar pictures, I thought it would be much bigger. I bet in time it would not even be noticable at all. Hearing all of you has given me the strength to go through with this. Yasmina :clap2:
  21. DeltaDawn, well it does not hurt to try ! You are doing so well, I can't believe how successful you have been so far ! Yasmina
  22. Thank you for answereing all my guestions. I will take a look at that site. You can never have too much information. Hi Nancy, I am interestedin seeing Dr Cobourn as well. I will have to fly in for my appointment. While I am waiting, I am trying to learn from other people's experience. Thanks so much Yasmina
  23. Hello, So Know I know the cost will rest on me. I guess there are just somethings that you need to do . How much pain is involved in the surgery ? How many holes do they need put in you ? are there any stitches involved ? I may be sounding a little silly, but I am a little scared about the whole thing. Y
  24. Hello, Thank you for the name complement. I have been looking into Dr. Cobourn in Scarborough. I seen to hear his name a lot. What is he like ? Since I will be coming in from out of town, how mobile are you the day after the procedure ? Are you fully asleep for it ? Can you see the port site as you lose weight? Y
