congratulation, God knows it's not easy but you did it. Keep up the great job!
  2. kcweir, Hang in there, I had my surgery two weeks ago and just started soft foods after my nutrition class few days ago. Try not to weigh yourself everyday, it could be a total mental torture which will drive you to eat more and cheat once you are not on the liquid diet anymore. Set a day for yourself to go on scale and then celebrate your achievements . It will get better and better each day just be patient:)
  3. Thank you all for your support, it means so much to me and helps me a great deal. I have promised myself to keep a record of everything I eat and feel so to help myself deal with this head hunger feeling. Also, I know every time I cheat I have to go for one of those loooooooooong walks even if I already exercised that day. I just need to understand it's one day at a time and I don't want to live being diabetic for the rest of my life. Today, I am up and running and in great spirit and planning to work out twice. Thanks again for listening to me.
  4. I went for my first post op and everything was great. I have lost 10 pounds since my surgery 11 days ago. Today is another story, I am feeling so down and can't figure out how to deal with it. I went for a long walk, had my soft food, and then started having desire to cheat and attack anything that I get my hand on I haven't had any fills yet so I didn't feel full after my cheat!! I hate myself now and so I am about to take a cool shower and go for another looooooooooooong walk. I WILL NOT DO THIS TO MYSELF AGAIN.

  6. I feel your joy, keep up the good job you are doing
  7. Promise yourself and stick to it that " I WILL NOT WEIGH MYSELF EVERYDAY" Set a date for yourself, maybe once a week, or every 10 days. You will have more motivation and something to look forward and avoid mentally toutruring yourself by the numbers everyday which may make you so upset and cause you to go eat more. Believe me it's a cycle for all of us until you face it and put a stop to it! Ok now I feel like I am DR. Phil. Hang in there and don't give up, start a NEW NIGHT and take care

It would be great to get all the support from people in the same situation so please stay in touch and lets update each other from time to time. Today I substituted a very light squash soup (added more water ) to those nasty shakes! OH it was so good and only 100 calories a cup. I am excited about starting my long walks again this weekend. Hope you have a great weekend. By the way, no one not even my sisters know about my LB so there you go now for the first time in my life I have a secret !!

When I read your blog, it seems as if I am talking we have so much in common!!! with sisters and being diabetic and all that. Anyway, I just had mine done a week ago and only yesterday I cheated and today is a NEW DAY for me too. I have lost about 10 pounds and need to lose another 50. Good Luck and take one day at a time.
  10. LauraKey, Thanks for all the positive support, I am ready for this 100% and know I can do this just mad at my self that I kind of gave in so fast :tt1: I guess I will have more days like this and just need to get back on it fast. I think as soon as I am allowed to exercise I will be way more motivated as well. I have lost 8 pounds in 6 days and have 50 more to lose.....
  11. Hi looks like we had our surgery around the same day, good luck to you. I think I will need to get a lot of support from here in order to continue, only if these next few days on shakes pass by sooner!
  12. Hi Everyone, Today is my 6th day post op. I have been following the orders as much as possible but today I was determined to cheat! I made some rice with tomato soup!! very soft and I chewed the entire thing about thirty times before sending it down but the scary part is that I didn't feel full or felt any discomfort after finishing a whole cup of rice. SO now I am horrified that maybe I have damaged my band by over eating that whole cup. Please tell me what you think? I am a food addict and six days having those shakes have made me feel so disgusted that I just needed to have a little bit of real food.
