I met a women at TLBC from Sudbury and her doc was going to do her fills. You are located hours away from many large cities I am sure you CAN find someone. And Delta Dawn had her's in Montreal that may be an option. Which cities are you willing to travel to?

Sherri I wouldn't move back to Alberta so quick. I am sure if you "look" and call and talk to people you will find someone who will do one. The Toronto Lap Band Center gives out a dvd to train doctors of patients who live too far. Maybe one of those docs would do your fill. I live between thunder bay and Winnipeg and on this site got the number of a doc in Wpg who did my second fill (not the most tactful guy, but he did it) and it cost me $75.00 I flew to Toronto for my first fill ,that cost $300 plus . Good luck. Keeping asking Docs in the area, I bet you'll find someone close.

Congrats Doriana Happy to hear all is well. I used childrens chewable gravol and tyelnol they were so tasty when I was not able to eat. I'd eat my tylenol first and then Oval (for gas) and then the childrens cherry flavored gravol for dessert!!! What you are feeling now will go away won't be long. The worst is over (the waiting!!).

Oh how did you sleep last nite? I couldn't sleep thinking of you on that air mattress. Should I start a collection for a new bed??

Oh Mandi I was hoping I was telling you something that was going to help. I am sad for you now. Have you tried white noise?? I have a fan going in bedroom to block out all the little house noises and traffic. I really want to help you. Another thing I do is repeat a prayer over and over again or a sentance like "my mind is clear" Tonite I will repeat "I hope Mandi is sleeping." Maybe you need a back rub while you are lying in bed, this always help my kids. Ask Dan if he'll give you a non-sexual back rub. (my husband believes if I allow him to touch me, even accidentally in bed, in means, you know) Sending you sleepy vibes.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~You are getting sleepy......ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

:notagree Mandi I used to drink tons of diet Coke everyday and tossed and turned every nite. Now I 've stopped, since my surgery(huge accomplishment for me) I notice if I have coffee passed one pm I can't fall asleep. Are you having caffeine late in the day or evening that could be making you stay up? As for the Natural Sleep aid try in an hour or so before you want to go to sleep, sometimes herbal products work over time. Good luck, I love sleeping and I need lots of sleep, so wishing you many sleepful nites!!!:notagree :notagree :notagree :flock:

Hey Mandi Which forum was she on? Sorry I 'm a few days behind, we were going to winnipeg, so my husband decided we'd go for a couple of extra days so he could go to the Grey Cup. No, I stayed in a mall while he was at the game then off to a warm hotel room for this chick and I watched desperate housewives. My husband was at the game and didn't even know the final score!!!!HMMM Slimmed in a restaurant could have been embarrasing but the room was empty cause eveyone was watching the game in the bar. Fuuuun Stuff.

Hi Doriana I actually got the isopro in GNC in Toronto. I did not like it at all. I mixed it with apple juice and I struggled to drink it. It cost $55.00 for this huge container and I used maybe 4 servings. I drank Powerade and Propel and I found they helped me so I did get all goofy from not eatting. I won't kid you I was hungry.

Mandi Ok my pants drag on the ground. Or I wear taller shoes. I just never really invested too much into a pair of pants to want to shorten them. But I definetly do find petite are just a tad too short.

Mandi I couldn't find a real tape measure so I used a six inch ruler and a piece of string (looked real goofy!!) My inseam is 30 inches and I buy normal length pants.

Hey Mandi Well I'd like to give the guy a break. At least he is willing to do a fill. I think if he would have tortured me then missed, I would have been bitter. But I will tell TLBC and probably visit them for the next fill just to make sure . Maybe.....I'd go see him again after he pratices a bit more....on someone else.

Thanks everyone. All though I though he didn't seem to know what he was doing. I have "felt" the effects. I slimed a piece of toast this morning. I have choked and slimed before but not like this morning. I was grateful I was by myself! WOW. I guess I will have to slow down and be more careful of my food choice cause it was quite unpleasant. I am thinking my band is not broken. YEAH!!!

Well he was nice about every thing. Oh ya he told me he had done 5 fills so far (and he was trained by Dr Coburn) and he only missed one. I did not feel anything after this fill. The first one I got this little twinge of naseau (sp) when the fill went in. This time, other than the pain from the giant needle, I did not feel the liquid go in. I hope he didn't break my band!!!

I went to Winnipeg yesterday for my 2nd fill. I was happy that I found someone who could do a fill a little bit closer to me. Still hours away but less a flight. My daughter came with me. So I went into the clinic with her. A yucky dirty clinic very sad.... I filled out a bunch of paper work. Paid $75.00 and sat down...for 1 and 1/2 hours later they call my name. By this time my 9 yr old is going batty! Go sit in little room with my daughter wait another 10 minutes the doc comes in and looks at my paper work. I ask him if he has filled many lap bands. "oh your here for your lap band just a minute I'll be right back" Leaves comes back 15 minutes later with a needle and saline "oh how much fill do I give you?" "i'll go call Toronto..." 15 minutes later comes back "ok ok .5cc to 1 cc" i say i want 1 cause i came from far he say ok. My port is very close to the surface you can almost see it. so he pushes it and prodes it with his fingers. Then take the needle and pokes me . This needle was so long I think it came out my back!!! I don't know what he hit but f#*&% it hurt. he moved the needle around inside me and then he said I think i got it. Then he removed all the liquid and said "oh it looks like you only have 4cc... uh oh ya well now you 'll have 5." I just wanted him to take that needle out of me. Then he said well it looks like you didn't have 6cc like you thought. " I said " I felt some Water on my belly maybe you spilled some" He said "that was my sweat" :phanvan If he hadn't tortured me enough he says wait "i'll get some polysporin so you don't get an infection" EEEEK As I am leaving he asks if I was weighed. um no. So he pulls out this scale, that is not balanced and he gets me on it with my shoes on. He's "oK looks like 197 is that ok?" "no thanks try again..." Ya ok thanks. Bye bye. Whaaaaaa do I go see him again cause it is more convenient? do I just spent the 5oo buck and got to TO??? I hope he didn't break my band. Any way I'll write it off as experience.
