  2. wow, you're truly inspiring. Your entries make me wanna put my workout clothes on and go to the track. I only hope when I get banded that I can rearrange my lifestyle somewhat like yours

Thought I'd say hi to everyone and maybe a discussion of some sorts will begin HI!
  7. I love my boyfriend/fiance', but god he gets on my nerves sometimes. So, there we are in the grocery store and he sees some meat seasoning he wants. First of all, I don't like pork chops or steak so it makes no difference to me what he puts on his meat... but I made the mistake of wrinkling my nose in disgust and he says "okay, i'll put it back". I didn't want him to put it back!! lol.. I just don't like it *shrugs*... but what really irritated me is why does he need my approval for everything? I'm not his mother. Then he says to me "how can you grocery shop and not get any meats?" Well, I'm trying to eat healthier so I had got some ground turkey instead of hamburger and since I'm a full time college student and work when I'm not in school, a lot of the things I buy are quick cooking things like pizza, salads, chicken nuggets ( for my son ) etc. Anyway, it turned into a huge argument so I just went to the checkout lane and he takes off to the truck... sometimes I think, why do I bother?:angry

  9. Thanks Maybe there's just too many women and too much PMSing going on here.
  10. Thanks for pointing that out.
  11. I'm new, don't know what's going on.. just wanted to say.. I thought this was a forum for adults?...so where are the adults? :bored
  12. My pills are fairly small except my multivitamin but I suppose I'll have to take the chewables once I get banded. Thanks guys
  13. I have to take about 4 pills a day for thyroid disease and depression, will I still be able to swallow them once I get banded?
  14. Anyone know why a lot of the races are on Saturdays now instead of Sunday? Go Tony! and/or Dale Jr.! :clap2:
  15. So, I guess I'll make this date my official start date of my journey, even though I've been researching this for atleast 3 months... I can't wait to have the band put in, I think it will help me so much. It's not so much losing the pounds I look forward to but that feeling of just feeling better and more healthier. Being able to wrestle around with my son and not feel give out or going outside to play with him and not feel miserable. I can't wait. Oh, and not to mention a better sex life with my husband-to-be.. We met when I was 70 lbs lighter and our sex life was amazing and now it's drizzled down to almost nothing. So, September 11th, I go back to my PCP and she's suppose to inform be whether or not my weight loss documentation has been accepted by the hospital where I'm having my surgery and I suppose then I'll set up a meeting with a surgeon and start doing all these exciting pretests I've read so much about. YAY! Even though I know they won't be fun, I'm thrilled just thinking about it.

  17. Thanks guys, On that note.. any websites you'd recommend for healthier recipes? I'm a moron when it comes to eating healthy.
  18. I'll give it a try but knowing him, he just won't eat! Even now, when I cook veggies, he'll eat everything but. But, like my mom use to say "you'll eat what I cook or you won't eat" lol
  19. Thanks for replying... maybe I should've started with a better question... How do you manage to fix healthy meals for a family consisting of one fat person, a 2 year old, and a 5'10 120lb man.. lol My husband eats whatever he wants, whenever he wants and never gains a pound but he loves to eat junk and can drink a 2 liter in one sitting so it's really hard to stay focused on dieting around him. I thought I could get away with doing the liquid diet and still cook his favorite meals without being so tempted to eat along with him.
  20. I haven't even had my pretests done yet but I want to lose some pounds and try on my own not to focus so much on solid foods for the months to come. Good idea or should I wait?
  21. Insurance coverage isn't really a problem, they already said they'd pay for gastric bypass or lapband surgery... I was just curious as to what requirements they deem nessacery to have the surgery because I really really want it. I think it's truly the only thing that will help me lose weight at this point.
  22. Thanks for replying, I appreciate your insight.. just wondering, does the documented weight loss have to be 6 consecutive months or ? I had seen my PCP for 3 months after gaining 30 lbs in one month and he couldn't figure out the problem, he literally told me "You need to find Jesus".. so I got a second opinion and found out I had hypothyroidism and in order for medicaid to pay for my medicine, I had to go back to my PCP and have him write the prescription.. so I wasn't documented for atleast 2 months and now I've been documented for 2, almost 3 ( if this makes any sense to you, lol )
  23. I called Medicaid myself and asked if they paid for weight loss surgeries. They told me they did ( this is Virginia medicaid, btw ) but I had to get a referal from my primary care physician.
  24. Hi, I'm 24 with a 2 year old son and I'm also considering lap band. Before I had my son I had lost 60 lbs but when I was pregnant I inherited hypothyroidism and my metabolism went to sleep and never woke up, apperantly and all the weight and then some came rushing back. So, like you, I'm nervous but there's nothing to lose but weight
