  1. Good for you, I had my first yesterday and the doc put in 6.2cc, which seems like a lot! I thought most people say 1-3cc. Does anyone else worry that they won't be able to fill it enough for restriction, can you get to 10cc too fast? I think I have restriction now, but I am on liquids for two days. I am so hungry!
  2. I don't know how much weight you need to push you up to the right BMI, but my suggestion is to eat lot's of salty food for a couple of days and then on the morning of a weigh in bring water and drink it on the way. Water is very heavy compared to food, it would be better not to eat and consume as much water as you can without using the bathroom. I would even sit in the parking lot chugging water beforehand. I know someone that was 10lbs underweight to join the army and this boosted him to the weight needed!
  3. I am 10 days post-op and have lost 16lbs, no pre-op diet. I am completely amazed, but also a bit worried because I am not getting the nutrition I need yet. I am working on finding the type of protein that I can stomach, literally! lol
  4. Hi, this is my first post! I was banded on July 7, just 10 days ago. I completely sympathize with you over the protein shake thing, especially as someone who as always hated milk, the smell of it alone makes me gag and I can't figure out how to get enough protein grams in daily. I am probably getting in less than 1/3 of what I need to be. I am afraid of being malnourished so yesterday I forced down, while holding my nose, about 5oz of lactaid with strawberry IMetabolic which was a sample packet given to me by the nutritionist. That's all I had besides water all day. I don't think I can drink that again. I've tried SynerProtein vanilla flavor with water and ice, it's soy based and I can get that down without holding my nose. I know what you mean about being so full it's hard to get other liquids in but I am starting to think it's the type of protein that causes the problem. I am not sure yet if it's the whey protein or milky stuff that makes me bloated and gives my stomach spasms, but I am going to stick with the soy based products for awhile and see how that goes. I can't continue like this, there are a lot of good suggestions in this thread that I will try, thanks everyone.
