  1. Wow, I see all of you that just had surgery and are already on purred or sorts. Surgery was Monday, just got to come home today, I wasn't hungry at all in the hospital and now I want to eat everything. im on clears for another week, then full liquids for two weeks, then purred for a month then finally... Real food. My back and neck are hurting worse than my incisions but that's just from being in that bed for so long. Hope this finds everyone doing well!
  2. And here I am... On the other side. Had my revision done Monday after noon. Im still here in the hospital. My surgery took 6 1/2 hours!! He said there was tons of scar tissue and lots of irritation rawness at the esophogus. He had to deal with all that, the remove the band, then do the by pass. Needless to say im on my pump still, and they've just given me two diff kinds of other pain meds. Plus medicine for nausea. Its a mess, but I've been walking and drinking my h20 and hopefully get to go home on thurs/fri!
  3. Had revision surgery on Monday. Just now feeling like messing around on the phone and turning on the tv. Because the revision is more complicated and the healing process a bit different the doc says I'll probably be in the hospital until Thursday or Friday. Im walking often and finally allowed to drink. The dry cotton mouth was probably the worst ever! Hope this finds everyone doing well. Do us Jan. Folks have a post op board? Where can i find it? Don't laugh for the stupid question... Its the pain meds. take care and prayers for you guys!
  4. Today is it! They moved my time from 5:30am to 10:30am. best of luck and prayers for all of us Jan 14th-ers!
  5. Its great hearing your stories! Thanks for the encouragement!
  6. Tz... We are in the same boat!! My band is coming out tomorrow and we are doing the bypass. All due to the band causing too much reflux and messing up my esophogus. Really bad. Im nervous as heck but so ready to get this over with! Good luck to you tomorrow!
  7. Good luck with everything. Tomorrow I'm having the band taken out and bypass all at once. Yikes!
  8. Thanks! How did it all go? How are you feeling??
  9. Up bright and early for my bowel prep today. It's also my 1st day to be on liquids. Today's gonna be a rough one. Tomorrow is my BIG day, 10:30am. Yikes! Wish me luck and please send me up a little prayer. Oh, I'm in Galveston, Texas and it will be done at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB).
  10. Well I'm up and at em early to begin the "cleansing" process. It's also my 1st day of just liquids. Revision surgery tomorrow. Going to be a long day today (but I've got this, I hope). Happy Sunday everyone and Go Texans!
  11. I'm not on a pre-op liquid diet. I'm right on the border so not required to lose before surgery. I AM getting so nervous though, cried myself to sleep last night for no reason at all... just nervous and scared!!
  12. I find it odd that I don't have a preop diet, at all. I have an amazing surgeon with all the credentials one can have... but just scared because I dont have the diet down already that I'm going to be in for a HUGE shock!
  13. Hey friends! I'm new here, but my date is Jan 14, I'm revising from a band (huge failure) to RNY. I've never had so many mixed emotions before! I'm scared but excited! Glad to be sharing my journey with you guys!
  14. Revision Surgery scheduled Jan. 14, after a major FAIL with the lapband and I'm NERVOUS as heck. Starting to second guess my decision. But I KNOW it's for the best. Is there anyone out there that has a date close to mine, maybe we could become buddies and help eachother out along the way??

  17. Glad to hear everyone is doing well pre and post surgery. Mine was done on march 2 and I stepped on the scale for the 1st time since the surgery and I'm down 9lbs!!! 9lbs in a little over a week! It's amazing! All this "fighting" I have been doing with my head when it's saying "you're hungry Theresa, it's time to eat" is paying off and it feels great! I'm doing super on the full liquid diet and can't wait so see what's in store! Well wishes to all!
  18. Stevie... I can't feel my port either.
  19. Oh no, heart burn is no good! I've always had it, but since the banding I've been lucky enough to not have toi deal with it. I'm SURE it'll be back soon, I'm not THAT lucky! Lol. What are yu taking for the heartburn???
  20. Coilygirl my surgery was March 2nd as well, and my port area is just as sore. Not so much heavy, just painful. Hope it gets better for us. Good luck on your journey!
  21. I had my surgery on March 2nd, and I'm just curious... I have 5 incisions, a long one by the belly button... And I can't figure out where my port is. Idk if I still can't see it because of the swelling, but is it on the right? Left? Top? Bottom? Just wondering.
  22. My surgery was on March 2nd, I'm having lots of gas issues as well. Just been walking, walking, walking. Congrats on the new you!. It's exciting!
