This is the time of year I get into trouble, banded or not! Last year I gained a bit as soon as it was halloween time (candy) and then just kept my bad habits till after the new year. I lost it again but this year do NOT want to make the same mistakes!
  3. I love accountability thats what helps me when I fall off the "band" wagon. I have turnrd to weight watchers in the past because you weigh in front of someone else and they write it down for you. I am actually thinking about re motivating myself aslo, I was banded a long time ago now, my weight loss has been slow and steady but I still have good times and bad times, and some ups and downs. However that being said I am still down! Just want to get that last bit off. Maybe we can be accountable to each other and weigh in together, post our weight on the board and try our own (much less expencive) form of weight watchers?
  4. Figured it out, never mind!
  5. OK I forgot how to change my signature. Can someone remind me please?
  6. I have been banded for 2 years and 7 months. The only people that know are my parents and in laws and my husband who is also banded. Best choice EVER! You will go through many ups and downs with your band and the worse thing my one banded friend ever dealt with was the horrible feeling when she gained weight back. Her "friends" really looked down at her, it was super bad. The problem is that none of your non banded friends will EVER get it, will EVER understand. You can gain weight with the band. Bad habits, no working out, too much wine and ice cream and you are screwed. Dont tell. Thats just my 2 cents.
  7. Just wait till you know, dont panic there is nothing you can do. Just wait, I know a lady who had a great pregnancy with her band in place ... the band isnt an issue.
  8. I hicup all the time, almost after everything I eat. For me it's my sign that my band is perfect, I love my hicups it reminds me my band is working. I have been banded for 2 years as well. Unlike you I still have to loose weight to be ideal but I feel much better than I did pre band. I never feel full....ever! It sucks and thats why I munch and nibble to much. If I took a bit out of my band maybe I could fill up more however I think I would eat too much so am willing to live with the hunger. You have to decide for you but my choice was to just drink a shake and deal.
  9. Oh ya the first few days of the pre op diet is just hell. It was 2 years ago for me and I still remember it well, the bad news is that it will just suck for a while. I was dizzy and sick for 2 weeks solid what I did do at night was eat a cracker or something and even though I was not supposed to it was just fine and got rid of the sick feeling before bed. Fat free sugar free jello pudding was my saving grace can you have that?
  10. No you wont be able to go on rides right after surgery. It hurts, its surgery!
  11. I eat Chobani Greek and love it! Have you tried that one?
  12. Hi! Well I am sorry to tell you that the pre op diet just sucks. It was 2 years ago for me and I still remember how sick I felt. all day and all night! I was on the pre op diet for 3 weeks, after my first 7 days it did get better but I will tell you that looking back on it now 2 years later it was worth every dizzy spell and trow up. Dont cheet, and keep strong it's just the beginning of your journey.
  13. All you need is a fill! It will get better but the hunger will never go away...you do have to eat to live I am 2 years post op!
  14. Oh God ya I still feel sooo fat. When I look at myself in the mirror I see that I am better when I have clothes on but still not great. When I am naked watch out because I feel like I still weigh 300 pounds. I dont think that feeling will ever go away, all I can do is try to stay positive and NOT eat an more Halloween candy!
  15. Hi! Are there any people out there from 2 years ago? I'd love to find you all if you are around. It will be 2 years for me next month. I have 8.25 in my 10cc band and I LOVE my band. My weight loss has been very slow, but it has been sure and I am so much better off than I was. I'd love to hear from some of you!
  16. Sometimes I can only eat 4 bites of food, depends on the day. Other times I feel like a burger and go get one, I cant eat the whole thing but the few bites satisfies my craving. I can still eat everything, Pasta, rice, bread, some cant some can. It depends on your body. Some days I can eat a lot and it blows me away! Enjoy your pre band days, but after the band food tastes sooo much better.
