Holy Smokes Potatie!!...You have done AMAZING!!...I have to admit I haven't even been banded yet and already find myself "self doubting"...did you do that?....I think after you have tried so many things to loose weight you begin to wonder if ANYTHING will work!...or is it just me?? Counselor-Is-In....so excited to see your post!...We are being banded on the same day!!!....YAY!!...So sorry to hear about your divorce...that is horrible...but wonderful you have a little guy!...I have 2 boys...ages 5 and 10 and just want so much to be the mom they deserve!!...Because I have already missed out on so much...I feel they have cheated at times!....

Thank you for sharing!..I truly appreciate it!...I have only taken 1 week off work post op. I work as a surgical assistant so I will be on my feet all day....I had a hysterectomy in January and bounced back pretty quickly.... What was your band date?

I have been going back and forth with my insurance after my "denial" in August....after giving up for a little while and deciding to go South of the Border and "self pay".....I put down deposits, bought airline tickets and was prepared to do WHATEVER I had to do!!.... Then...it hit me....I AM SICK.....I have had a heart attack (at 30yrs due to migraine medication), I have high blood pressure, and horrible pitting edema and was being looked at for possible congestive heart failure...I am 35 years old..... I decided I WOULD NOT let my insurance NOT help me....I called....dealt with a wonderful woman at my insurance company directly....had all 86 pages of my med hx resubmitted and ......I WAS APPROVED.....IN LESS THAN A DAY!!! So...in short.....don't give up...fight your insurance...you pay for it....you deserve it!!!!

Hi guys and guys....I'm Neener from the State of South Dakota....I am getting banding on the 18th of November.....I have 2 boys ages 10 and 5 and an amazingly supportive hubby whom I adore!!!..... I just want to start of by aswering the question "would I wear a mini skirt?" that was posted.....and my answer.....HECK to the YEAH!!!! *laughs*...... After numerous setbacks with insurance and ultimately being denied due to not having a high enough BMI for 3 full years I have decided to move forward regardless!!!....I will be self pay but feel good making an investment in myself.... I have just finished my 2nd day pre op.....2 Protein shakes....and one lean/green....and it is tough!!...I am scheduled for banding on the 18th of November....right before Thanksgiving *laughs*....clear liquids....but will be Thankful my many blessings!!!....:thumbup:

Hey guys!!...I just got told this afternoon that I have been "denied" due to no "supervised weight loss" for 3 years with my PCP....talked to my surgeons office and they said that denial after first submission is very common....and they will gather everything needed.... My question is....has anyone else been denied and later been approved and what was the approximate duration between denial and acceptance?? Many Thanks

Before most surgeries requiring General Anesthesia your Dr. will them give you "Versed" to relax you prior to breathing any gas....during most GA's the gas used is "Sevoflurane"

"Oh the tangled webs we weave, when first we practice to decieve"....I think you should keep things on the up and up...heaven forbid something go wrong and he has NO CLUE what the heck is going on...... I feel the surgery is a very "personal" thing....but don't exclude your spouse...he may be paying more attention than you think!! :sad:
