I am flying from Heathrow to Brussels will arrive about 4.00 pm the day before. It was the only decent time flight I could get from nearish to me, about an hour and half on the train. How are you going to get there?

No sorry just heard from a couple of friends that they were turned away by their GP although they met the criteria.

Hi Deelighted, I apologise in advance if I am wrong, but you seem persistant on finding someone who isnt happy, you are not a journalist/reporter are you? As I know Dr Chris Bruyne was given bad press sometime ago by a bias British TV Show?

I know what you mean!! I am trying but its hard, will have to be stronger after banding....

Hi Dizzy Debs, Just looked at you profile and we are similar heights and weights, not a lot in it, so it would be good to compare notes, although I dont seem to loose weight fast on any diet, including the lighterlife one!! lol... As long as I get there in the end I dont mind!

Hi Dizzy Debs, yes roll on October!! I am going to Sri Lanka in two weeks time, with my husband, my eldest daughter and her husband. I have only told my husband as my three daughters will give me loads of ear ache and at my age think I am ready to make my own decisions!! (50). Like you I have loads of clothes in boxes from up and down the scales!! The last diet I did was lighterlife which was liquid only for four months!! Put all the weight back on and another stone...... This time I am sure I can do it with a little help from my band!! I am quite short so it all shows. I will eat until I come back from my holiday then I have two weeks. Fred said low fat diet, no alcohol, so I will try and do liquids only or low fat if its too hard, but I would like to keep in touch to see how your doing x

Hi DizzyDebs, How are you feeling now, I am still nervous and excited!! Trying to get as much info as possible on the two week pre op diet as it is exactly two weeks left to go when I get back from holiday so want to have everything in place so I dont slip up!! You are being banded 10 days before me, so wishing you well!! Have you planned your diet yet, what are you going to eat?

No I went straight to sell pay, as I didnt want to wait, not getting any younger!! Dr Chris in Belgium has an excellent reputation also great reports on here and its a lot cheaper than the UK

Hi I live in Gloucestershire and I am going to Belgium to be banded on 16th October by Dr Chris Byrne. Have you been banded yet how did it go and how are you doing?

Hi Can anyone advise me please? After I am banded does Dr Chris have an aftercare service or do I need to register for one with someone else in the UK (i.e. WLS?) Thanks:redface:

So sorry to hear of your really bad experience, I hope you are on the mend and this time things go better for you, you are very brave to have it redone.

Hi I agree, I am not saying this person is not telling the truth but I dont understand how £17K can then go to £20k which seems very expensive to me? Also if you had spent that much surely you would investigate with the doctor why it hasnt worked just incase it needed replacing due to a fault? I would make up my own mind there seems to be far more happy receipents on there than not? Good luck with your decision x

Hi I made my ticker on www.tickerfactory.com and used the events one for countdown days, I have also made one for when I start my diet. Then copy the section at the end that says bb etc. come back onto this site click on the section that says CP and paste into your signature. Thats for the ticker. if you need anymore help let me know, it took me ages!! Goodluck

Thanks Bev, I had an email back from Fred advising me just to eat a low fat diet and keep off the alcohol for two weeks before my date!! Which is quite nice as I come back from holiday 15 days before my op....lol!!

Thanks Singing Parrot and Homecare, this has helped me calm down a bit!! I have just heard from Fred although I think you both made it clearer, but at least now I know he has the deposit and its on for the 16th October. Should really go on the diet asap but going on holiday in a couple of weeks, so will start as soon as I get back!! Thanks everyone this website is really great Oliverdog!!

Hi Homecare If they come on the site and want to chat let me know, I am being banded in Belgium on 16th October, going on my own so it would be nice to know someone already! Have they had their pre op diets or any information yet, as I am still waiting and beginning to get a bit worried? I have read on here about people taking Milk Thistle, can someone tell me what it is and why they take it. Is it before or after banding or all the time? Thanks for your help.

Hi Bev 4971 Sorry havent replied sooner been away for work!! Yes it was a good deal. I heard from Fred straight away and sent off the deposit next morning. But have heard nothing since, despite emailing four times now!! Did anyone else have this problem. Also how soon do you get notification of the pre op diet, as I am beginning to worry. Thanks
