  7. Good Morning, I can not believe my revision surgery is tomorrow. I am excited but, kind of nervous. I am 47 years young but, I have 2 youngsters (12 and 6). I was very successful with the lap band until I developed an eye stroke and MGUS. Though I was told that there was no correlation between the band and these conditions, I started thinking that a foreign appliance in me was concerning. So, I had the Fluid removed from band and instantly started gaining. Also, when I tried to have fluid placed back in back, I could never get the correct restriction. I did not do so well on the pre op. My diet was quite liberal. Just Protein and veggies. Yesterday, I had 1 piece of chicken but, fried. And, also had a piece of cake early in the week. Other than that, not too bad. Please send prayers up to the Big Guy upstairs!! I will post tomorrow. This time I plan to take pictures and measurements. I will post my admittance picture tomorrow morning! Thanks everyone!! Brigette

Day 1: Breakfast: Premier Protein Drink Snack: Blueberries w Greek Yogurt Lunch: Egg salad (boiled eggs with a little mayo) Snack: Orange Dinner: Broccoli with grilled chicken breast I have a low carb/high protein diet. So, LET'S DO THIS! WHOOT WHOOT!

  13. Who am I? I am Brigette. Not Bridgette. Pronounced Bri jet. I am a triplet. Yes, 3 of us 2 boys, 1 girl. I am married nearly 14 years. I have 2 daughters ages 12 and 6, I am 47 years young. I had the lapband in 2010, I was very successful. However, I had an eye stroke in 2012 and forever was uncomfortable with the lapband. I also could never get proper restriction. Professionally, I am a Training Officer. I am scheduled for revision sleeve on 9 February 2015.
  14. Well, my lapband had been great. I feel that it is the best decision I could have made. In May I had an eye stroke, which took away my sight in one eye. Before this zi had my band to tight and was choking at night, vomiting frequently. So, after my eyestroke, i could not swallow meds, too many, I had all fluid taken out of band. Gained a lot of weight. Not blaming the band. I went crazy eating. I was worried about my sight. Now, I am being checked for something called MGUS. Though I do not think the band is the culprit, I just want to get anything foreign out my body. I have been experiencing pain in my right rib cage. But, once you have a scary health problem everything worries you.
  15. Hello Everyone, I have a confession. I have gained back so much weight. I had successfully gotten down to 157 lbs. I exercised, but, in May 2012, I had what is called an eye stroke. This is an occlusion in the eye that causes vision loss usually in one eye. I was devastated. I was placed in a stroke clinic for treatment. Thankfully, a lot of my vision came back 70-80%. However, I have become terrified of running and most exercise. I did not have all the risk factors that usually cause this issue so, I concluded maybe it was stress. I had a cholesterol level of 188. BP 110/60, A1C. 5.2, glucose..88. So, my numbers were great. As a result I am on medicines. I also could not swallow medicine so had everything taken out. Well, Maybe not the best idea. Along with swallowing meds, I was eating everything else in sight. I had to weigh in at yesterday and it was 204lbs. I can remember saying, before fluids were taken out, restriction. No, fluid is crazy! So, I am back. Need support! Band is still the best!
  16. Ok. Everyone, thank you for your responses. I am using the IPad app, could not figure out how to respond to posts. Lol. Well, surgery is June 13. I work for a police department but, I do administrative work. So at desk most of the time. Very nervous. Now thinking about a 360 tummy tuck. The more I read, the more questions I have. LOL
  17. Hello Everyone, it has been a while since I posted. I am scheduled for TT and Lipo next month. I am still about 20 lbs. from goal. Any words of wisdom? Any must take to surgery. I am planning to go back to work 2 weeks after. Hope this is realistic. Take care all.
  18. Hello, I have been successful with my band. I won't say that I would never have RNY because I never thought that I would do any weight loss procedure. In fact, I was determined not to go that route. But, after trying alternative methods (diets, exercise, with temporary success, I ultimately decided on lapband. Having said this, if I were to ever gain most of this weight back, I would look into alternative wls. I don't know which I'd choose but would at least investigate. I chose lapbandt because it was the least invasive and I had less than 100 lbs. to lose. I needed to lose about 70lbs. Wishing you well. Brigette

  20. Hello Everyone, I couldn't find this board when they changed the boards a few months ago. So, glad to find again. I had surgery November 12, 2009. I am so happy to hear of all of your successes. I too have done okay. I have lost 66 lbs. I was 8 lbs shy of goal. Unfortunately, I keep fluctuating with a stubborn 6-8 lbs. I get within 8 lbs and then, will gain 6-8. But, I am really fine with this. I have been moderately faithful. If I were to buckle down and get away from sweets, I'd be okay. I am currently training for the Chicago Marathon in October. So, my body actually looks pretty good. Some of the gan is likely muscle or at least I want to believe that they are. Hahaha Wishing you all well. Brigette
