OH I would make a big deal out of this. This is probably against the law. If he's doing it once he's doing it with every pt im sure. This is how infections spread. Granted she can insure herself safety but not using it . But what about those pts that think Docs are God and take what they say for gospel ? They are out there too. These people are in danger in my opinion . Mindy

They arent that's the problem . LOL I know I wasnt . Your mom is probably just trying to get to know you . Or be involved when she realizes she wasnt last yr. I did not want my parents to know anything about me, what i was doing , they would have been the LAST people I would have told my problesm to as little as 5 yrs ago . LMAO I learned from my parents with me, talking or lecturing doesnt help . it does in one ear and out the other. Plus my son is dyslexic , so he learned better from SEEING , hands on things LMAO . He was complaining one time about how he never gets anything , after we took him to do something, never satisfied kind of crap . TRYING To act like a spoiled brat. We warned him to stop. He didnt so he spent the night on the back porch with a tarp for a blanket ! He learned to appreciate things for awhile. Some of my friends say how Mean I am , but ya know what , my kid might attempt to give me lip every once in a while , they are the ones who have kids tell them how they hate them , argue with them something NASTY and are the ones that they have to go find at 2 am. My son says Yes mama and NO sir , respects his elders. My son KNOWS better lol . For now .He's not perfect. But he does have manner which is more than what i can say for some kids. Mindy Mindy

I am not an expert or a nurse, but i have worked in and around hospitals and docs offices for a long time and this strikes me as VERY ODD. For something to be sanitzied properly it would have to be autoclaved. SO unless you saw him put it in a little oven looking thing for several mintues. Im not sure what the reasoning would be behind this ? Others might . But once a needle goes into the body its open to bacteria . I wouldnt put it back into my body . Just my input Mindy

lol It works. When we catch him on the phone too late or his grade slip the door comes off the hinges. He looses his right to privacy when he doesnt keep up his end of the bargain . One time he wouldnt do the dishes with out complaining , so i went in and put some the dirty dishes under his bed. It took him a week before he noticed. I told him ' you have ONE CHORE you you bitch and moan about it DO IT Or your room will stink from now on when they dont get done . LOL We get creative with him so the rules sink in . So far he's a good boy and all his friends think we are " Cool " LOL Mindy

EXACTLY , My son got in trouble not too long ago and we couldnt think of what to do to get it to sink in. SO we took his bed out of his room ! LOL Now if he has a friend that gets into trouble he'll tell their parents " Take his bed out THAT Will get their attention it got mine" . I think you are the rare exeption to the rule. And you and your parents have done a great job . However that is not usually the case . If you give most children too much freedom they will get into trouble.. Children need guidance. I also think that your still looking at things as a "child" not as a parent. Not that you are a child or act like one but your not a parent raising a child. Parents tell their children to do things or not to do things to not "Control" them but to guide them or to teach them . As a teen we think its control but its parenting. It hasnt been but 15 yrs or so since i was a teen, my son is half my age almost . . I remeber all too well how it felt. I felt like i was being controled. As a parent there are things that we give up and sacrifice for our children. I gave up my entire teen yrs to have my son as well as college and I would do it again . There are things I will NOT ALLOW from my son so that he will not have to go through what I went through and THAT I will NOT Compromise on . . Rules are rules they are my rules, he can either choose to follow them or he can not . if he does not then he will be punished , If that means some incovienceince on MY Part then I accept that its part of being a parent. And I bet if you asked your parents they would have done it , They are lucky that they didnt because you were a good child. Mindy

Im a chronic migraine sufferer. With out my preventative meds I get them 5-6 times a week on meds 2-3 times a month. sounds like ocular migraines to me. If you are getting those symptoms with out the pain , count your lucky stars. When i do get my migraines i take meds to make them go away , most of the times it works sometimes though it doesnt and im in severe pain. I have had migraines since i was 11 and im 31 now. I get migraines with Aura. The Aura is what comes on before the migraine. Mine is the visoin in my L eye goes out for about an hour. I also have smell sensations . I smell things that are not there. Mostly gasoline or propane. I know its wierd. I am also VERY sensative to smells when i have my migraines. One thing i will tell you is if you have a migriane that is different than another migraine of have a migraine that last for more than 72 hours you need to contact your doc or go to the ER . Woman who have migraines with Aura's are twice as likely to have strokes than those that dont. And migraines w/aura was just included into stroke risk factors. So if your pattern changes go to the ER .I know several woman who have had strokes and their only risk factor was migraines. Preventatives have given me my life back though. It took 15 yrs to find the right combonation that works but I finally found it and im "normal' again . I never realized how bad I felt until I started feeling normal again . HTH Mindy

My son has 3 friends ( all 14yrs old) that are all very good friends of his. 2 of the friends are brothers and their mom is a single mom and works all the time. she works until midnight everynight . So they are home from the time they get off school until midnight alone, And every weekend alone. The other friends mom is a young mom like myself ( she had him at 17 ) however, she would rather be at her boyfriends house or out partying all the time than at home with her son . SO all 3 teenage boys have NO Supervision on the weekends. All of them started coming to our house after the high school football games on Friday night . They all started hanging out at our house alot. One Saturday night after a halloween party we took the one kid home who's mom parties and he said " Man I dont want to go home and sit there alone again my mom's not going to be home" I said ' Why dont you just come to our house then " He called his mom and shes all for that ' . We now have all 3 of those boys ever weekened all weekend long. The mom who works alot asks me if its ok because she knows they are supervised. The other mom , well her son was at our houe Frinday Night and she didnt call to contact her son until 11 the next morning ! she had NO IDEA where he was. He tried to call but her cell was off. Anyway my point of all this is , these boys could do what ever the want all weekend long, but they would rather be at our house where they know someone is there to care for them and supervise them . Kids WANT and NEED supervision . These boys all have told me they like it where a parent is home. Sorry that got long just thought ide share Mindy

Sorry but parental responsibility doesnt stop when you turn 16 or only when its conveient for the parent . Yes it may make things easiser when your kids start to drive. BUT If you want to keep their butts out of trouble and inforce your punishment , trust me as a parent you WILL invocneinve yourself and rearrange your schedule . I WILL Make those arrangements if it means my son finishing school and inforcing a punishment I made and him learning a lesson MIndy

The other tatoo I thought about getting , it was a toss up between this and the cherry blossoms... I wanted to get a little pink Piggie on the top of my foot. Why ya might ask ? LOL 2 reasons . 1, my best friend of 20 yrs lost her son to SIDS 6 yrs ago and he use to snort when he ate, so i called him " My little snorty Boy " so after he died her and I's "Smybol" for him became piggies. The other reason ,I wanted to get a pig with 100 in the middle . To remind me to not eat like a pig and put that 100lbs back on and become so overwt again so I cant see my feet again ! LOL . My friends think im nuts . So i settled for the cherry blossoms Mindy

My husband knows I have a wild side and has seen it ! He made a comment the other day when I said " What would you think about me getting a very small nose piercing " He said " That is not very motherly looking dont ya think ? " LMAO I said" OH I wouldnt do it until ive lost my weight" . He then said " Ummm is your younger, more wild side going to come back out when your weight comes off because frankly I think im too old to deal with her again " LOL He know's me and know's I wont dress trashy or anything. LOL . But he's very worried about tattoos and peirecings . Ive always wanted a belly button ring and a nose peirecing . LOL Mindy

LMAO That is my FAVORITE thing to do . I am 31 and a house wife. My oldest son is 14 , i had him at 16. I was a bit wild when i was younger. I got my first tatoo at 18 and my second one at 21. Now im a typical house wife. NO ONE expects me to have tatoos'. BUT people who knew me 10 yrs ago NEVER expected me to be a stay at home mom either. So when people see my tat's they are floored. Its almost as funny as seeing old friends faces when i tell them im a stay at home mom ! :biggrin1: Mindy

Loosing 100lbs is the only way i'll get one with out my husband killing me LOL He told me if i he knew I had them when he met me he never would have dated me . He's conservative and Im a liberal . LOL When we had been together for about 6 months he was rubbing my back and said " Do you have scar on your back " I said " You could say that ' He said what the hell happened " I lifted up my shirt and showed him my celtic cross tatoo and he almost died . SO i told him " I want ONE MORE on the top of my foot if i loose 100lbs i'll get it and i'll be done " He agreed. BUT I dont think he figured surgery in on the wt lose lol Mindy

I had not really thought about how mine on my back was "holding up " since i have gained so much weight . I had been thinking of my tummy tuck. So after you said this I went and looked lol . Its acutally FINE ! AND Im not sure if this is because i have gained wt or because I dont look at myself naked anymore but my tatoo is much higher than I remeber it being . Its about 6 inches above my Waist Line. So I think it might be ok with a tummy tuck . Thanks for having me look at it again lol Mindy

Sorry It took me awhile to find this post again lol. I have a celtic cross on the small of my back. Its rather large. Probably about 4in by 4 in ? I also have a cowboy boot with a cowboy hat hanging off the boot on my ankle. When I loose 100lbs I want cherry blosooms coming up the top of my feet. I heard that cherry blossoms signify life or rebirth. So I wanted them on my feet to remind me of the new life I will have at 100lbs by being able to see my FEET ! LOL Mindy

Dont feel so bad , im having a hard time too. My biggest issue is the no drinking thing too. For the small bite problem a lap band friend gave me a set of toddler utensils and that helps for me to visualize what those bits look like and should look like . Its easier to chew thoes smaller amounts of food, and it doesnt take as much chewing for those smaller bites. if that makes sense. Im a little worried about it but I firmly belive that the band helps LOL Mindy

Im curious to see what people say about this as well. I actually have a tatoo in the small of my back (its rather large) im worried what will happen to it when I loose weight ( Im being banded in December) and when i get my Tummy Tuck what will happen . Personally i would think on your shoulders it would be ok ? But I also could see the advantages of waiting as well Mindy

Speaking from a former rebelious single teen mom ( Pregnant at 16 and struggled every day f until 3 yrs ago for money ) Im married and 31 now . I See 2 options. #1 your the parents Make the descions SHE"S right on that , Sorry i call it like i see it. If you dont like what she's doing tough shit if she's bought the car and paid for it, she's living under your roof. TAKE IT . YOUR Drive her to school, tell the school to call you the SECOND She's not in clasa and call the police on her. CAll the police on the boyfriend because its PROBABLY ILLEGAL for a 21 yr old to be with a 17 yr old. It is in Texas. Tell her this is how it is.... You will do as we say , you will go to college get an education THEN Do what the hell you want . if she doesnt like it option 2 #2 She Gets out. she's telling you " FINE I"LL Leave " becuase she KNOWS your goign to do what ever she wants so she DOESNT LEAVE . Call her bluff. Next time she tells you im going to leave tell her " Fine Leave , You are welcome to come back anytime you want to finish your education , HOWEVER once you walk out that door all finacial help from us stops until you move back home . " Once she realizes mom and dad wont bail her out reality steps in REAL QUICK. those are the options i see. WHen my parents kicked me out my prioroities and tude changed QUICKLY . My boys know edcuaion comes FIRST period end of discusiion . My son is 14 now and all the other boys are goign on "dates" the parents are taking them. I wont I refuse. My son's fine with that. For now. he wont date until he's 16 . He also know if he doenst go to college he's on his own . Mindy

This is GOOD to know since I have PCOS and have not had surgery yet. I can go for Ultrasounds and One time have cysts and another time not have any at all. I was getting an ultrasound to get diagnosed with PCOS and the Xray tech was looking and she said " OH CRAP " i said what . She said well im not suppose to tell you this but you have well over 100 cycts in your right ovary . Turns out I had about the same amount in my other ovary . They were just small ones. I went in for a follow up ultra sound 4 weeks later and all but 40 of them dissolved . Eventually they all dissappeared. Luckily none of mine have been fibroid cysts. Mine always dissappear . But its scarey . Im glad your ok and im glad your watermelon baby came out . I think this is something I will make sure is looked into before surgery , i too am self pay . Im putting this on my " What to look into list for pre op " LOL Thanks again . I hope your doing well Mindy
