  1. actually the price for everything i do not find bad at all. I honestly was expecting to pay that for my TT and BA . I found out that in San Antonio runs about $9,000-12,000 depending on where you go So i think the prices are reasonable. Are you considering the silicone ? I was thinking about those too ? Im still 50 lbs from that but I research already LOL Mindy
  2. Exercise will help , have you tracked your food intake on something like sparkpeople.com ? Perhaps your not eating enough , too much ? I would start with what your eating and how much also exercise ! Good luck your doing great Mindy
  3. Correct me if im wrong someone maybe its just me ? Is anyone else uneasy with a BARATRIC Surgeon doing PLASTIC Surgery TOO ?? Im a little uncomfortable with this ? I mean that to me is sort of like going to a pediatrician for your Pap Smear ? Not me! :smile2: Mindy
  4. Tammy , In the US The price ranges from around $8,000 on up I believe , In Mexico there are docs as low as $7,500 i believe ? I had my surgery done in San Antonio TX it was $12,000 includes 1 yr of fills and after care. The best thing to do is do your home work . SEe if there is anyone in your area that is good ? This is not the type of surgery you can price shop and go to the cheapest. Research Research Research ! Best advice I Can give ya , Lap Band Talk is a great place for that . HTH Mindy
  5. I try to refrain from saying Anyone is "THE Best or Better" than anyone else. that's just my personal opinion on it . I surely would hate for MY opinion/recommendation of "My doc is THE BEST" to send someone there and then have something happen to that person , i dont think i could live with myself. So i agree with Snowbird stating someone is THE BEST should be based on detailed knowledge and supporting details of other surgeons. Just my opinion .. mindy
  6. I agree there is always someone who does not like something about their doc. Personally I can look past personality conflicts, disagreements in certain areas , you have to know what the plan of "care" is going to be for post op , you have to know what your pre op care is going to be AHEAD OF TIME. You have to know how things will be handled if complications arise , I personally , and this is just me could not look past a doc having such complications that the patient either died or almost died, IF there was not a valid explanation for it . I have been in the medical field long enough to know things happen . But sometimes they dont just happen. Bubble Butts Sig line has excellent info on research , she knows much more than I . HTH Mindy
  7. Its a good idea to do research on docs before making a choice. Do not just take one or 4 peoples word on it. Do your OWN research and make your OWN choice. this is a SURGERY not picking out a candy bar. I personally would not pick a surgeon based on the fact that he looked like Antonio Bandereas or Brad Pit for that matter . I know that was a joke but im just saying. A good source for how to research docs is in Bubble Butts Thread. Please ya'll Make an INTELLIGENT choice when having surgery , RESEARCH and do not believe EVERYTHING you read !! HTH Mindy
  8. I have saved one shirt and one pair of jeans from what i was wearing from the week i had surgery . Has anyone else done that ? Im going to get in them and take a pic when i reach goal !! Mindy
  9. I Cant shop at the avenue anymore either. And I have a CC to there LMAO Guess that will have a $0 balance for EVER Now LMAO Mindy
  10. This is a great idea. I focus so much on the size I WANT to be or the next size to get to its a good idea to remind ourselves where we have been ! Awesome ! mindy
  11. You have no restriction yet there fore there is nothing to "stop" those things , nothing restricting them . Those are common foods that give bandsters problems and you may still be able to eat them after your first fill. I could eat them up until after my 2nd fill. Some people even with restriction can still eat them . I can not eat bread, pizza i can do with very thin crispy crust but not every day some days i cant eat it, beef same as pizza but it has to be a good cut of meat and very tender and moist, beans i dont have an isse with , pasta is a no no . HTH Mindy
  12. Good luck and try to be calm , Let us know how it all goes. Love Mindy
  13. ROFLMAO bird and pigs ! Chicken depends on the day ect if its ok for me . Pig lmao is usually good. MIndy
  14. That I have never heard of . Be careful though it sounds scary ! Let us know what happens Mindy
  15. What kind of meat are you eating ? have you tried pork ? Steak is iffy for me , if its a good cut of meat and cooked right i can usually tolerate it. But if its dry nope cant do it. Also sometimes when you THINK You have chewed enough try chewing another 20 times , That helps me . HTH Mindy
  16. I was banded in the states but the best advice i can give you is due your research ! Check out this thread it has some excellent info on it . http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f11/researching-mexican-doctors-101-a-43575/ HTH and Good Luck Mindy
  17. Hi Teanne, Your cold probably has SOME to do with it . but yes post op my tastes changed I remember seeing people talk about it on here and I thought it was months down the line when their tastes buds changed but it was actually Right away. When i could get on full liquids i wanted cream of potatoes Soup SO bad , i just KNEW It was going to make me full. Hubby went and got me some, tasted like CRAP ! So he got me some pudding , CRAP . Sweets like Popsicles tasted like PURE Sugar. It calms down a little. but things I enjoyed pre op I dont enjoy now. I want some things now i did not before surgery. So is it normal , YES LOL Mindy
  18. I am not sure if this has been covered or not . But fills can take up to a week or more to "kick" in . Mine usually about 4-7 days to kick in after a fill . So try to be patient i now its hard. Hang in there. Mindy
  19. Agree with Peabody , if your cant keep liquids down or if swallowing liquids are not comfortable for YOU you need to call ! Anytime something is not comfortable for YOU you need to call and check in w/ your doc. If your doc is not calling you back KEEP CALLING ! HTH mindy
  20. My doc told me it was not needed , it was an extra expense, but I could get it if i wanted, If you think it helps than I say go for it. I did not get it since i was self pay , i wanted to save every way i could. I personally didnt see a reason for it ? NOW For post plastics YES I think its needed . HTH Mindy
  21. I had my surgery done in San Antonio TX See my sig line. cost was $12.000 with 6 months of fills and after care included. Mindy
