Had my surgery on 9/22. Feeling a little better now. Still get this hard sensation when I lie flat or when burping. Kind of can get crazy when I think I'm going to have to have this thing in me forever. Start thinking I'm different compared to the rest of the world. Having a lot of problems with constipation even though I'm taking medicine for it. People keep telling me they can't believe they did surgery on me because I'm not that over-weight ( 5foot and 220 pounds to start). And as usual, once I've lost a couple of pounds then I think I'm not that big. But then again, I keep putting that weight back on. I'm sure all this is just a process. Wish me luck. Going to work today for the first time. Just not really sure how to respond to people when they do find out.

My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow. Finally got the nerve up to tell some of my family members. They were better about it than I thought they would be. Ready to get started, just afraid something will go wrong with the surgery. I'm praying for the best.

I was riding my bike 4 miles a day, then I started getting this sticking in my right hip. I've laid off for a while to see if that helps. The hip is getting better so I'll try again in a couple of days. Getting very constipated on this liquid pre-op diet, but have gotten better. Get band on next Tuesday...wish me luck.

This is my 6th day of the pre-op diet. On 3 protein shakes a day and one meal. I'm pretty hungry most the time. I have been very faithful, but not really showing any weight loss. Was wondering if this has happened to anyone else, or should I just give it more time? I'm realizing how much food is involved in your everyday life. Nothing happens without food being around. But have learned I don't have to eat every minute of everyday...:smile2: Still having doubt about the surgery. I think it's more in the aspect of what everyone will say or think. I know I need to get over that, and maybe this is the way that I will have to finally say for real "It doesn't matter what everyone else thinks" !!!!!!!

I'm confused on this website. How do I get the weight gauge at the bottom of your comments?
  11. What are some really good protein drinks? I'm really not a milk drinker and some of them smell so sweet it makes me gag! I'm a Pedi nurse and the smell reminds me of the chronic patients that had to have tube feedings. My surgery is 9/22/09, I need to find something quick.
  12. Hey, I'm glad to hear your comments. I feel the same way. This is a big life decision and there should be some questioning moments. I see the Dr. in 2 weeks and should be approved by then. Then I just have to get motivated and go for it. Everyone I have talked to say they would do it again in a minute, so that does encouraged me. Good luck and stay strong. Let me know how it goes.

I have an appointment in two weeks. Still waiting on insurance to approve and it seems like I can't get enough to eat. I'm suppose to be losing weight prior to the surgery. I feel like I'm eating just so the Doctor will tell me she won't do the surgery. That way I won't have to make the final decision. Most the time I want to get the surgery but there are times I'm having second thoughts. My husband and two kids are very supportive and tell me to just do it, if that is what I want but I'm afraid to make that final decision. I'm really afraid of that vomitting stuff everyone talks about. I'm in the medical field and as everyone knows we all eat as fast as we can, because we get very little time to eat. If anyone has comments or suggestions I would love to hear them.
