    Coworker outed me

Although I don't completely agree with Sanstan....I understand her point. I feel like I shouldn't have told anyone or I should have told everyone! That's the 2 options if one wants to control how the information is put out.

    Coworker outed me

Being 3 days post op VSG, I am pretty sure surgery isn't an east way out. I only told 2 of my co-workers, and they have kept it under wraps but I have a sinking feeling I will be outed as well. So I really wish I would not have mentioned it to anyone. I find this is the biggest regret others have as well. Hindsight ....being 20/20. Just move on...you can be angry...you can confront the person...but really at this point, what is done is done. Just have a good comeback when/if it is mentioned again.
  3. I just asked my boyfriend to "please watch something that is DVRd"....he asked why...so i sweetly told him, as my head spun on its axis.... "I am on day 7 of a 2 week a liquid pre-op diet and i do not want to see food commercials!" Poor guy!

    August sleeve buddy?

I "officially" started my 2 week pre-op liquid diet today. However...I did a "trial run" last week just to see how difficult it would be and pinpoint my triggers. It actually went pretty well and gave me some idea of the shakes I actually enjoy and not just tolerate. I tried some mocha shakes first thing in the morning, a strawberry/banana for "breakfast"...broth for lunch and dinner along with 2 shakes. It helps to keep busy and/or fast forward through all of the food commertials on TV! I have figured out cooking is not much fun when trying to stick to a liquid diet. But on a good note my honey has decided to cook for himself or eat out for a few weeks.
  5. My employer abruptly switched fromBlue Cross to a small "benefits administrator" in late July. I was just beginning the process for VSG at that time and I had questions regarding the bariatric surgery benefit for both HR and the new insurance so they were aware of my decision and of my appts testing ect. On Dec 18 I finished the last of my testing (EGD) and my surgeon was compiling all info for the insurance company. On Jan 11th position was "eliminated" along with my health insurance. I'm thinking it is not a coincidence. There is really nothing I can do. I am not sure if the 2 are related and if they are there is no way to prove it. So my question for all of you....has anyone else lost their jobwhile in the process? How long are the tests ect "good for"?
  6. Everyone seems to be super excited when they get their surgery date. My question is: "seminar to surgery date":...how long am I looking at??? I am not asking for how long my wait will/might actually be:smile2:. But if it goes good or bad (insurance, psych eval ect.)..just wanting you all to throw your experiences (time frames) at me...thanx
  7. How long from first appt/seminar to actual surgery? Can some of youn share your timeframes. I am sure it varies.
