  1. You are definitely not alone. I have 1.9 cc in a 4 cc band and can 2 to 3 cups of food. I'm going for my second fill next week and hopefully that will do the trick.
  2. I know what you mean. I PB'd on water at work and didn't think I was gonna make it to the restroom.
  3. It depends on what stage you are at. Cream soups were fine after my clear liquid stage, but was told to watch liquid calories when I started solids.
  4. Fluoro for me. I just had my first fill and it was interesting to see the liquids I was drinking pass through the band. Eventhough it's more expensive I like that fact that he could tell my band and stomach were looking good...I was banded not that long ago so it was comforting.
  5. It's when a piece of food gets stuck. For me it happened cuz the chicken was too dry and I didn't chew enough. It felt like pressure on my chest and finally I threw up, but it wasn't food it was a bunch of saliva (which is know as slime). Then came the food...not pretty at all. Feeling better now...taking small sips of liquids and seem to be doing good so far this evening.
  6. Well I guess the good news is I won't be eating too much on Thanksgiving...lol. I'm probably not gonna try anything else today and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. Thanks for all the support!
  7. Thank you so much for responding. I didn't get any sleep last worrying that I might have slipped my band. I tried have a some water today and it came right back up. I'm hoping I just irritated the heck out of it and not something more serious. Maybe I'm taking too big of sips...I'm gonna try the spoon. Thanks again.
  8. Hi everyone. I was banded in Sept and had my first fill in October. I've been pretty much been able to eat anything (just less) until tonight. I had my first PB on a piece of dry chicken. I was sliming for hours and am now starting to feel a little better. My worry is that I can't even keep down Water now. Has anyone ever had this problem after a PB and is there any rules or restrictions I should follow after having one? I would appreciate any help. Now I'm paranoid that I might have slipped my band. Thanks again:) Coreen
  9. I paid $8,500 to be banded by Dr. Ortiz. I can't say enough good things about my experience with him and his staff.
  10. I was banded on Sept 11th and just had my first fill...1.9 cc in a 4 cc band. I see a difference in how much I can eat, but can still eat more than 1/2 cup food. I'm gonna give this fill a couple weeks then decide if I need to go back for another.
  11. Robin, I had surgery with Dr. Ortiz in Sept and had my first fill this pass Saturday. You are going to be in good hands. I can't say enough good things about him and his staff.
  12. Chris you are very correct. I was banded by Dr. Ortiz and he mentioned that chewing was a problem for some people with bad teeth. He didn't look at my teeth, but he asked about them. In fact, he is in the process of putting a dental office in his clinic.
  13. I was banded by Dr. Ortiz on Sept 11th. Everyone there is so nice and I couldn't of asked for better care. Your DH will be able to stay at the hotel the night you are in the hospital. The room is yours until you leave.
  14. Hey Kirsten, It was Shanna Moakler that got voted off. I guess she didn't have the fan votes cuz I thought she danced better than Harry Hamlin: ) Coreen
  15. The core plan is a list of certain healthy foods that you can eat as much of till satisfied. The key is till satisfied...which never worked for me before the band...lol. You still get 35 flex points for treats and things that aren't on the list. Hope this helps.
