Thank You for all the words of advice. I appreciate them. Well I've been using the nettie pot for sinus cleanse and some flonase. Proud to say feeling much much better and ready for surgery.:cursing: Juliansmom2003 - Hope your surgery is a great success and congrats on your new life. I will join you on Friday. I go oct 21 for hospital pre-op. I nervous, excited, scared and all the above but, I know that it is all worth it in the end. Good Luck! Please keep us posted on how your doing.

Help, Im getting a sore throat and I'm sch. for surgery October 23 next Friday. I've been taking sinus meds for throat drainage but I guess its not going to help. I feel like its allergy related if that makes sense. I've waited sooo long for My Day!! I can't hardly stand the thought of it getting postponed any longer.:scared2: Can anyone give me advice on what I should try????

okiegirl 79 My surgery is sch. for October 23, next friday. I started a 2 week diet last friday that I posted in the earlier post. No Iam not on a liquid diet. But I know after surgery I'll be on one for a week, then go to mushies and so on... Hoped this helped. Just post if anymore questions

we3601- Iam on a 2week pre-op diet and this is what it consist of : B-protein shake: L- any one Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine, or Smart Ones entree: S- 1 Piece or 1 Cup of fresh fruit: D- The same as lunch. Free foods are ff broth, sugar free Jello, sf popsicles, crystal light. Hope this helps. I think a lot of Doctors this has just been the norm for a liquid diet. :confused:

Hi, and welcome to LBT. You will find a wealth of info and good people for support at this forum. I too have a similar stats as yours 255lbs 5' 8" My surgery is sch. for OCT 23. have to start pre-op diet this friday. Good Luck to you.

I just had to share my news. Called this morning and finally got an approval #. I was denied once before but, did the appeal. I think if you can handle the waiting game. Then we can surely work this band. When we get it.:frown:

Hi, Just wanted to introduce myself. I have been lurking around for awhile. A little info about me. Im from south Georgia. Dr. Henderson in Brunswick,GA is my doctor. I started my journey in June 09'. I weigh 255 lbs. my bmi was 39.2. I Did my consultation in June. psych and nutrition appt. in July. Submitted in early July. Was Denied by UHC PPO:angry:. So the nurse said we could appeal if I gained 10lbs. in August. So thats what happend. The appeal was sent in on Aug 24, 2009 I called for 2 weeks the kept saying they had'nt recieved it. Called the docs office they called. It had been keyed in under the wrong acct. So it finally got in the right plan on Sept 4 it was uhc mistake. But they still tell me it will be 30 days before they have a decision. Which will be Oct 4. I'm so frustrated. I don't understand why they denied me in the first place. I have hypothyroid, high blood pressure, and depression. They said I did not have enough documented to warnt it being medically necessary. If they donot approve me this time I dont know what I will do. Well thanks for letting me rant. Any words of advise maybe will help me fill better. :thumbup:

kksmom, How long did it take for insurance approval. My insurance info got sent in today. Can't hardly wait to hear news.
