  1. I use wii fit to add variety. I also walk outside, do the gym and also videos. I get bored easily so I change up my workouts regularly. I mostly use the step and boxing. I also make the wii fit step more challenging by placing on top of a regular aerobic step I already owned. I really love working out with the kids using wii fit, they really like it.
  2. I have already committed to 50 miles for the January challenge and would love to continue with Ashley as well... so far i have 2 miles...!
  3. 2 miles on wii fit and walking with my granddaughter this morning AND i walked/jogged two miles in the evening with my husband .....total of 7 miles so far.. CHA-CHING!
  4. Hi everyone, I was banded in September and one lb. shy of my 25. Have you thought of starting a blog to record your success/challenges? There is a whole blog world of fellow banders and I have found it tremendously helpful. We share tips/recipes/victories and prop each other up when its needed. Whenever I get impatient or discouraged, I read back on my blog to where I started and how far I have come and its very inspirational! Congrats, you have made a wonderful life changing decision!

  6. completed 3 miles of 50 today:w00t:
  7. I finished only one pound away from my goal, but I'll take it! One more pound to a 25lb loss!
  8. Amanda, your weightloss has been amazing and you are so going to make that 160 next year. Happy New Years to you too and I hope Onederland comes before midnight! lol
  9. I am trying to increase my veggies, since being banded I have concentrated so much on protein that I know I am not getting nearly enough. Today I tried some steamed veggies, brocolli, carrots, sugar snap peas...I am having trouble with both the snap peas and the brocolli getting stuck. I could sure use some tips from the experienced banders on how you add veggies to their diets and which ones. Happy New Years!
  10. I am going to go with 50 miles in January!:w00t::laugh::w00t::w00t:
  11. I have to be honest, I didn't even glance at my bill. I paid my $30 co-pay and my insurance company paid everything else. I was just so happy to have been approved! Happy New Years!
  12. Just wanted to say Happy Holidays to everyone! I will be extremely busy until afterwards. Hope everyone enjoys the love and spirit of the season without overeating!
  13. The first time I flew with my band, I was very tight! It was so tight that it really hurt. I had a long layover and couldn't even imagine eating anything. It definately kept me from snacking in the aiport.
  14. I didn't know there was a 4cc band? I'm guessing 2cc in it at the first fill would be similiar to me get 5cc in my 10cc band at the first fill. That would be very aggressive.
  15. Today I had my 3rd fill and now have 6.2cc's. Guess I'm one fill behind you Amanada. I hope this one does something since my first two fills felt no difference at all to me. Hope your 7cc's gets you to your sweet spot or at least close !
  16. Will this be your fourth fill Amanda? I go the same day, it will be my third, my doc most people start really losing after their fourth, so maybe you will see it ! Of course, you are so far ahead of the rest of us already in losses! Congrats!
  17. Your working out 2-1/2 hours a day? Oh my, God Bless you! You could be on The Biggest Loser show! You are my hero! How many fills have you had? How many cc's?
  18. Three months seems a very long time between fills. If the 4cc's stop working for you, call them and make an appt sooner. Three months between fills is more like doing it on your own, we got banded because we could not do it on our own :willy_nilly:
  19. The restriction from my fills only seem to last about a week before disappearing. My doctor had me switch to using baby spoons this last fill until I get programmed into eating small bites and it does seem to be helping. Maybe you should just wait another few days and just concentrate on eating tiny bits and chewing well.
  20. My last fill put me @ 5cc in 10cc band, my next fill is 2 wks
  21. Yes you can count the miles for that  I had a very good experience! I went to a wedding last night. Was eating a little bit here and there (chewing slowly) and I got this tightening feeling in my chest. Said to myself "ok, your full now, time to stop eating". Prebanding, I would have grazed the whole time. Guess this band is working, if only to keep me away of what I'm packing away!
  22. I have experience with both HRT and anti-depression meds, I would caution you that both increased my appetite.
  23. Someone sent me an invitation to join their December Fitness Challenge today and I wanted to pass it along to anyone here that may be interested. You pledge to do ## miles during the month. Doesn't matter if you walk/run/bike etc. I think its a fun way to challenge yourself to move! I set mine to 75 miles this month, I hope that wasn't too high LOL Here is the link http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f81/december-2009-mile-challenge-106262/
  24. I'm glad your surgery went well. I am curious though, did your insurance company give you as much trouble with approval for the port replacement as they did with the actual banding?
  25. This sounds like fun, put be down for 75 miles this month and ill see how it goes, will probably up it next month
