  1. i was having extremely heavy periods when i was losing weight. I have now been at same weight for a few months and i just had a wonderfully light period! Was so nice for a change!...i think my body is finally starting to settle a bit after a year of losing weight. although just had some more fill in cos i broke my ribs and couldnt exercise and have now started losing weight again....we shall see if losing weight again triggers the heavy periods. :blushing:
  2. I had Dr Dolan and he"s fantastic!...still with shoulder pain? may still be swallowing to much air....gas is terrible...I have lost 34 kg and my "bandiversary is June 16th"....i feel great, normal,, can buy clothes in normal shops....no more fat girl shops! woohoo! For the girl moving out here from dublin...Dr Dolan at Joondalup hospital will be best as you will probably live out this way....dont mean that to sound weird but most british people live out this way when they move here....
  3. I would definitely do it again! I do worry on occasion what will happen to the band in my stomach....I have lost 33kg so far (8 to go) and could not have done it without the band! I am exercising every day! My husband is now exercising with me so our lifestyle is so much healthier! I dont feel like i have to sit on the sidelines of life anymore, i can be involved and enjoying it!
  4. I weigh every morning, before my shower and after my visit to the loo! (every little bit counts you know! ) I find that this way if i have a bad day I can be extra good to keep weight in check. Also weighing yourself at same time everyday gives more accurate reading. Do any of you find that you put on weight just before that time of the month?
  5. Some days I get acid and somedays I dont. I have found that if I feel it starting I will have half a glass of low fat milk....seems to work a treat! Did have strong anti acid tablets from doctor but they were only ok for few days....milk seems to work better and its not medication! I find if I have certain things like wine for example, the next day I am quite acidic!....
  6. Hi all, i go to Kevin Dolan at Joondalup....awesome! you can get either of 2 other docs do your fill, but i just tell them what i want and they do it!....at this stage (9 months post surgery) I know what I need now:biggrin:
  7. I am! I walk everyday for about 50mins...I feel so lethargic for the day if I dont now...I also find it is "me" time to chill and listen to my ipod...quite relaxing really...well except for the sweating and stuff! LOL
  8. i have the facial hair too....weird! my hubby commented on it....now i'm worried....don't u get more facial hair if you are not getting enough nutrition?
  9. you will be fine! BEST THING I EVER DID...I NOW FEEL FREE!
  10. awesome! thanks for sharing...btw i have more facial hair now since i lost weight! :smile2: weird huh? wasnt a problem before.....
  11. Mine have been super heavy since my surgery last June, and now my cycle seems to be shortening to 3 weeks!!!! NOOOOOOOO!
  12. I saw my Doctor for the first time 3 weeks before surgery...they just happened to have a free surgery spot so I took it! That way I couldnt chicken out! So glad I went thru with it, best decision ever!
  13. Hi there You have definitely done the right thing having this surgery...who did your op? re: do you miss food? I did at first, but now am getting used to what i can and cant have...although do miss fresh bread with butter!!!! Re: Do yo u still sip your water? what happens when you drink to much water? .....I still sip water...and I had surgery in June 09..if you drink too much too quick it could come straight back up....i have had a few near misses when i forgot i had the band and was really thirsty, but generally its not a problem Re: is there any specific food you still avoid? I tend to avoid bread, dryish meat, i think everything else is okay in small doses I hope you are feeling better from the op!
  14. I would recommend lap banding to everyone who is overweight. It is not smooth sailing all the time tho. I have lost 27kgs since june 16th (date of banding). I am exercising nearly every day. I feel great knowing i can finally shop for clothes in normal shops, I am active without struggling and I don't feel like I am trapped anymore! I was only in hospital overnight, and it took few days to get over surgery. Let me know if u want to know anything else as I am only too happy to help! :smile2:
  15. You will have ups and downs...but its the best thing I ever did! I feel great. I had my surgery done by Kevin Dolan in Perth in June 09 and have lost 27kgs so far... I wish I could go up to every overweight person I see struggling in the shopping centres and tell them how they could feel this great too!!!
  16. I would have loved to help, but I got banded in June 09. Interesting tho as I am still having trouble with accepting that I am not huge anymore! I've lost 27kg and have 9 to go, but am starting to realise I am not a huge person anymore!
  17. Hi all...Fanny my hubby is at Argyle too! I had my surgery in June 09 and so far have lost 25.8kg!!! 10.2 to go...I want to be there by time we go to NZ in February...
  18. I too am really tight in the mornings....then again late afternoon! Some nights I have acid coming up in my throat and that is just gross! I wasn't too tight but in last week or so it seems to have tightened on it's own...weird!
  19. What size band do you have? I only have a 10ml band and am thinking no more fills for me!
  20. Hi guys I had my first fill the other day, 4mm in a 10mm lapband. Doctor Dolan said to have liquids for first few days than go back on to normal food. Well went back on normal food, had 2 peices of lamb in a lamb korma and ended up bent over the loo for 2 hours....lamb was well chewed but blocked my lapband! not nice! anyone else having this problem?
  21. Hi all. I am booked in with Dr Dolan at Glengary on 16th June. He didn't mention anything about Optifast dieting before surgery...is this normal? Also just had ultrasound today and she said i have a fatty liver. Has anyone else had this? If so what did you have to do??
  22. Hi guys I am booked in for my surgery 16th June...I am bit nervous bit looking forward to finally being slimmer! I just had an ultrasound today and they said i have a fatty liver! I hope this doesn't mean they will cancel my surgery!
