August 2009 Mile Challenge
Good Morning Everyone! It looks as though we all had a great month. I love reading the post and reading that you really miss it when you can't get a workout in. This past week I had a similar revelation. My usual bedtime is 8:00pm. I was watching tv with my 20 year old daughter. I had flipped through the channels and realized there was nothing on that I wanted to watch. I stood and said, "I'm going workout." My daughter was gushing over me. She kept saying how proud she was of me. I gave her a weird look, because at I've been working out for 2 months now. I then realized the impact of her words. It was 8:00pm and I was not headed to bed, I was going workout. WOW! Me? Nothing ever stopped me from going to bed at 8:00. THANKS and CONGRATULATIONS to all of you who have remained true to the challenge. I would have never made it this far without you. Keep sharing your milestones. You have no idea how much it helps to keep us all encouraged. I will set up the September thread, but we still need to post our final miles for August on this thread. I, like most of you am still exercising daily. Would you all mind if I just aim for a weight loss goal and not make it a goal for the challenge? Even with all the miles biked and inches lost the scale is not moving. I do not eat nearly as much as I did before my band. I need to stay away from kettle corn and ice cream. I need to be accountable for my food intake as well. The idea of getting more protein in will be a key factor in possibly moving the scale. I still do not have any restriction. Jenai, did the protein drinks replace your regular meals? Willowcat, congrats on the weight loss! Deb, I wish you a speedy recovery. We are so glad you came on board with us. Way to go Melinda!

August 2009 Mile Challenge
Jenai I am happy to read about your 3lbs weight loss this week. That is just what I needed to get myself in the right frame of mind for setting another goal for the month of September. My weight loss stalled 3 weeks after surgery. Albeit, I have lost lots of inches, I want it all. Inch loss and weight loss. Tell me what you all think about setting our usual miles goal and maybe shooting for a weight loss goal too. I would set a weight loss goal of 8lbs for the month.

August 2009 Mile Challenge
Jenai, before I got to the end of the post, my heart was sinking. I thought, " Oh no. She hurt herself exercising." I felt bad, but continued reading and was very happy to hear your wonderful news. I am so glad you are healthy. I, like some of the rest of the team am in awe of your skills on the elliptical. I really am wiped out after 1 minute on mine. For now I am sticking with the bike, although I need a good upper body workout too. I will maybe challenge myself next month to do what I can on the elliptical and get the rest done on my bike. KUDOS to you!

August 2009 Mile Challenge
Willowcat, I know you can do it! I pull my strength from you and the others on this thread. When I come on and read the post I know that you are faithful to this challenge. This is what keeps me faithful. I thank God for my Cyper Friends everyday. I am able to get more miles in on the weekend. I do 4-5 miles in the am and 4-5 in the pm. That's how I made it through the last 2 weeks. My goal now that I am back to work is to get at least 2 miles done before I leave for work and get more in after work. I can do 2 miles in 8 minutes. I can give up 8 minutes in the morning. I am compulsive about being on time for work. We must be there by 7:30. If I am not there by 7:00 I'm stressed out for a while. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

August 2009 Mile Challenge
I also have 5.5 ccs. I am almost there. I hope to get another .5 in the next 3 weeks. It will be difficult getting fills now. I live 45 minutes away and the facility closes at 3:00. I can't leave work until 3:30. I did not get a chance to eat today while at work. We are busy getting ready for the first day of school. Just got home and DH is grilling pork chops.

August 2009 Mile Challenge
Thanks Willowcat. I will look for that thread. I want to get to the level of restriction where I do not want to eat much. Sometimes I eat out of habit. I want to break that cycle. Are you only able to get liquids down? How many ccs do you have in your band?

August 2009 Mile Challenge
I need your help. There are several of you who have weight loss tickers and I've noticed you all are losing weight. What are you eating? Give me a typical day's menu. I do not have much of an appetite now that I have returned to work. I hope I see results now. I've lost inches, but would love to have the scale move in the right direction.

August 2009 Mile Challenge
Good Morning Team! I haven't posted in a few days. I am surprised at how much I miss coming on and keeping up with everyone. I returned to work a week earlier in order to get my classroom organized. I usually spend a full 9 to 10 hours at work each day. If I want to remain successful on this journey, I must make time to connect with you all a few times a week. Deb. I'm glad you are doing well. You are such a trooper. I will be praying for your overall good health. Have fun this weekend. Jenai. Congratulations on your noticeable weight loss. I know that makes you feel good that someone else can see your results. I received another 1cc to give me a total of 5.5ccs. I have a little restriction. I've been so busy at work I have skipped breakfast and lunch. Wasn't drinking much Water either. I began to retain water. Panic set in when the scale started moving up rapidly. I'm finally losing again. Planning my meals should be a priority. Most of my dinners this week have been take out. I hope I continue to lose with this fill. It should be easier now that I am busy again. Willowcat have you gone back to work yet?

Cramping after a fill?
Thanks for everyone for responding.

Cramping after a fill?
I received my 4th fill today. I now have a total of 5.5ccs in my band. Since the fill this morning I have been cramping. Has anyone else felt cramping after a fill? Just curious. I haven't felt restriction yet. Is this cramping the first signs of restriction?

August 2009 Mile Challenge
I got my miles in Willowcat. Thanks again for encouraging me to get it done. The workshop was pretty interesting. It was all about making the most of small groups. Can't wait to put some of the ideas into practice.
