Hi everyone, I do have to say that I really don't like my band much. About a month ago they took out 2 cc's because I was too tight. Since then I have gained 10lbs! I have another appointment to refill, but what a pain this fill process has been for me. I was stuck at a 40lb loss for six months until this 10lb gain. I wish I could've done the sleeve. Oh well, I'm a little grumpy now so I should go to bed! Glad others are doing well.

I finally got my restriction about 3 weeks ago and have been losing 2lbs a week since. I'm down about 35lbs which is nice, but I can't wait to lose more. I struggle with what I should eat. It seems like I can't eat anything. Junk food goes down fine unfortunately but chicken and other meats I really have to eat slowly. Oh. By the way, I just found out that my BMI is at 29.3 which means I am no longer considered obese, but now just overweight. YAHHOOOOO!

I have 9.2cc's in an 11cc band and finally feel different. I still struggle with my sweet tooth, but am lightning up on the breads which is huge for me. It really hurts to eat it now. Anyone else struggle with their sweet tooth? I don't know how to overcome that.
  4. I was at 8cc's. With 8 I just had a hard time with bread/rice/pastas but today when I got my fill I got a little burpy from just the water. I hope it works ...I'll know more in a few days.
  5. Maybe he's at the Woodbridge office. You don't have to go to him for fills though. Christina is great if you go to her!!! I just got my last fill (I hope). I am at 9.2cc in an 11 cc band. I can tell it's going to work this time.

Was the PB in the 1st 10 days when you had restriction or recently?

I just had 2cc's put in a few days ago and have a much more difficult time eating as well. Liquids go down fast but now I finally have to really chew my food or it gets stuck and takes a few minutes to go down. Its somewhat painful and fortunately only my family has seen me stuggle through this learning time. For you I would say be careful. If you can't even drink you're probably too tight and will get dehydrated.

Do you have to drink the barium when you have a fluoroscopy? That's the worst thing ever! I just got another 2cc making it a total of 8cc's. I think this month will be the one where we'll lose a little more huh? Great job at losing 2lbs with NO RESTRICTION!!!

The first 20lbs was so easy to lose right after surgery. Since January I have gone up and down 5lbs but have pretty much stayed the same. But you're right Viv about all of it...I'll just hang in there. My next fill is in a week and a half. I'll cross my fingers. Thanks!

Thanks for the encouraging words Viv. Really??? 2 more fills? I'm so ready to feel restriction now. Have you been losing lately?

Has anyone done the 5 day pouch test? I don't have restriction yet and everyday add more junk food to my diet. Unfortunately I haven't lost weight either. I don't know how you all do so well ...I eat exactly the same as I did b4 surgery. I'm going to try the 5 day to get back on track.

Hmmm....it would be nice NOT to pig out at Easter dinner, BUT it would be aweful to get stuck (worse yet, slime) in front of a bunch of people who have no idea what is going on with you. My doctor always wants me to wait a couple of weeks after a fill before I travel to adjust to the new restriction. With that said, I would wait if I were you. I have had 3 fills now, have never been stuck, but have noticed some difficulty eating different foods this time. I think it gets slightly stuck. I'm learning that I need to chew more with this fill and I'm glad I'm learning privately instead of in front of all my family this Easter. Good luck with whatever you do.

I know how you feel. I just got my 3rd fill on monday and still don't feel restriction. I haven't lost any weight since the middle of January. My doc said it could take 5-6 fills for me to get to that sweet spot. How frustrating huh? Hang in there...we'll get there one day!

I did this 2 years ago and it was a great program!!! I was 2 weeks out from the run when my back went out ( I have a bad back)so I couldn't do it after all. I gave up after that, but may try again someday. I really feel that I want to be less heavy before I do it again because it was a lot of weight to bear on my knees and back. I agree with Viv that walking is great right now.

Well like illuminationlady said, I told them to "filler' up!" But they didn't. They would only give me 1.5 cc making it a total of 4.5cc's. Not sure how big my band is...I have the realize band. They really stressed that I need to stay under a cup at each meal. I said that it was very easy to do when I felt restriction right after surgery, but now there's nothing stopping me. It's frustrating, but I'll just be patient and wait it out. I'm really trying to stop eating at a cup now and I started filling up a gallon of water to drink through out the day. I think mostly I need to change my attitude about food....I want it all and I'm use to getting it all.

Karen, I have to agree with you that everyone has been such an inspiration. I haven't exercised very often yet, but when I read what everyone else is doing I get my biggest loser video on and get going. Thanks everyone for all the motivation and encouragement you pass on!

I go for my second fill today....hope this will get me to that sweet spot!!! It has been embarrassing lately since everyone has asked me how the weight loss is going and I really haven't lost ANY in over 6 weeks. I really hope today will be the day.
