  1. here are a couple of snack ideas, dry fruit ie, prunes , raisins, craisins, appricots they have lots of fiber and aid in digestion if you know what i mean. Nuts are also good raw almonds, cashews, pistachios make sure to portion out one serving since these are very easy to evereat. Soynuts are great too good source of protein. multigrain crackers again use portion control never eat straight out of the box. Use the little snack size plastic baggies. Edamame steamed with a little salt is awesome low cal and good source of fiber and protein. You said you dont do milk even if you are lactose intolerant you can have an aged cheese that will have little to no lactose in it. Again portion control since these can have alot of cals. I like cheese sticks and the laughing cow wedges. These are just a couple of ideas hope they helped.
  2. That sweet taste in your mouth can also be a by product of the sucralose or aspartame in your protein shakes. Or SF jello. Ketosis leaves a more metalic taste in your mouth.
  3. I have a couple of questions for you How long do you allow yourself to eat a meal? Do you snack? What are you snacking on? What type of excersise are you doing? If you are really that tight the only problem I could see that is going on would be oversnacking or grazing. Don't want to offend but if you cut out those 400 cals that you say you are over eating in a week that could give you a deficit of 2800 cals which is almost 1 pound. That coupled with your excersising will help you move along.
  4. you should get a total unfill, You dont want a huge needle being poked around in your belly blindly because preggy chicks cant get flouro, god forbid if you have complications and need an unfill when you are further along in your pregnancy. Better to be safe than sorry my 2 cents.
  5. you need a surplus of calories in order to make milk. I would suggest not getting a fill. Weight loss and breast feeding dont work. Breast feesing is good post partum it helps shrink your uterous down and you will have a flatter belly sooner.
  6. Don't get frustrated try to weigh in at the same time so that you have a consistent reading. I normally weigh in after i wake up and use the restroom in the nude of course. Have you been keeping track of your sodium intake? You would be surprised how big of a difference too much salt can make. Next week i have a hunch that you might be down more than just 2 lbs it happens. Make sure that you are counting your calories that you excersise acurately. Most machines are just not accurate. Body bugg is a good idea.Pricey though
  7. Do what works for you my nut is also really into low carb and almost had a heart attack when i told her that i drink green smoothies (fresh squeezed oj, strawberries and baby spinach) told me i shouldnt eat/drink fruit juices i guess moderation is key here. They assume that because we are big that we are going to gorge on everything we eat lol. Low carb is easy to follow and you dont really have to count calories. Oh yeah and anybody can be on it even diabetics.Hence why they pimp it out so much.
  8. You are worried your messing what up? If you dont have restriction yet try to use will power. Follow the bandster rules protein first then veg and if you have room fruit. Do not drink with meals. Only allow yourself 30 minutes for meals any longer than that is grazing. Dont forget to get your 64oz of water in very important for weight loss. And start moving walking works stay busy keeps the brain from thinking about food. Don't beat yourself up. Keep your chin up and think about how well you have been doing.
  9. Mizo hate to be a downer but just because you can eat it doesnt mean that you should.. How long are you taking to eat a meal? You should only allow yourself 30 minutes to eat. Alot of bandsters end up grazing because they let their plate sit for hours.
  10. I'm there with you I have been so cold lately not even funny. I went to my dentist for an appt and i comented to him that I have been clenching and that i have bitten the insides of my cheeks he told me that it was normal during weightloss to experience this because your body needs to get used to were things are now. i was like good to know. I was a little worried.
  11. walking helps get rid of the gas.. Try to get up and walk around as often as you can
  12. My nut must be super conservative she said 1 year. I was like yeah right. I mean I drink socially but a whole year is overkill IMHO!!
  13. My hubby has also been very supportive. But i must tell you he wasnt on board from the get go.
  14. just step away from the plate.. I do it, I just dont have enough self control to let it sit on my plate lol!!
  15. an hour and 1/2 is a long time to eat. Try cutting your time down to only maybe 1/2 an hour to eat. that way your not grazing. Just a thought, alot of time we eat and it takes some time to get that full feeling.
  16. Keep a log of what foods are giving you a hard time and note what time during the day this is happening. Some of us are tighter in the morning. And as the day progresses the band loosens up. My nut told me no bread, rice, tortillas or Pasta for the first 6 months. Trust me it is dooable. I used to have issues befoe i was banded when eating dry biscuts so i can only imagine what it might be like now. Just a couple of things you can try.
  17. Depends on how heavy you are lifting. My doctor told me no lifting more that 30lbs for 6 weeks. When i saw him at my 2 week post op appt I told him I had hit the speedbag the night before and he was mortified. He was like stop that until 6 weeks only walking for now.
  18. you will start to notice it soon enough the only people who have commented are my mom and dad not even the hubby has said anything and I am down 38lbs since my first consult only 14 post op but still thats dam nearly 40lbs lol.. The hubby likes thick women so i guess thats why he hasnt comented..
  19. I totally lost my taste for my muscle milk rtd shakes i cant even stomach them. I have just been skipping them try getting your protein in other ways keifer, and greek yougurt are a good source. even milk has 10grams per 8oz
  20. you just had a baby, post partum your body is getting rid of excess fluids. Seems almost natural that you would have some inflamation. You might want to stay on liquids for a couple of days like the other folks recomend make sure you keep hydrated stay away from salts. It might help to walk around a littlebit also. Can i ask a question and i hope I'm not intruding? was this a natural birth? The only reason I ask is that all the bearing down might had slipped your band. You might want to get in and see your surgeon if your symptoms dont improve.
  21. The reson most doctors say no to caffein is because it is a diuretic and can dehydrate you faster if your water intake isn't addequate. Also its acidic and can cause stomach upset. My doc said only decaf Coffee is in my jeans (I'm Cuban) and I havent had any yet because i refuse to drink decaf lol!!
  22. I'm glad you guys are all doing so well. Lets keep up the good work. I am finally going to get back on the treadmill tomorrow. I just wasnt up to it. Has anybody on here had issues with just not having enough energy? I know that the lack of calories has alot to do with it. But geesh i just want to sleep all the time.
  23. how many pounds are you guys down Im down 14 since beeing banded on 11-16
  24. I love how you picked my post apart.. a bit neurotic aren't we? I know forums are for people who have different opinions and i will take your post as just that. Your personal opinion. I'm not an e- thug lol!! So I think I will leave this one alone. Have a good time with your soon to be tight band.
  25. up your excersise hun thats the best way to drop weight you dont want an overly tight band and have to live on liquids
