  1. Try this: Go to http://www.tickerfactory.com/ and design your ticker ruler. After that copy the HTML code and paste it into your LAP-BAND® profile. Save this page in favorites for future weight loss updates. You will have to register at this site I think but every time you edit your current weight it will automatically update on your signature. To paste it click on view my bandster profile underneath your forum name. Then over on the right side click on Forum Profile, from there click on Customize Profile and then click on edit signature. This is where you put the code you had copied from ticker factory. Then save the signature. This is not as hard as it might sound. Good Luck :smile2:
  2. Hello fellow Arkansas bandsters, How is everyone doing? it's been a while since anyone has posted so I just thought I would drop a word or 2. It's a long journey and no one said it would be easy. I've had a few ups & downs but have managed to get through. I have fairly good restriction now but don't think I'm at my sweet spot yet. My next fill is in May & I think the third one will do it. Good luck to all!!

  4. I cheated but only on Christmas day & still lost 18 pounds in 2 weeks. Good luck!!
  5. I've lost 30lbs so far and haven't had a fill. I go in Friday Feb 12th for the first one. I haven't lost any in quite a while but have maintained the 30lb loss for 3 weeks. Really looking forward to the first fill. The Doc said he will try for 5cc the first fill - in a 10cc band. Good luck to you. :rolleyes2: It will work. I think it's a great move as nothing else was working for me. The quote below was from a success story I read on LAP-BAND®.com from a guy who had lost over 100lbs and I think it's something we all can strive for.
  6. Kris - Hang in there ~ the first 3/4 days are very rough. Get plenty of protein and maybe add a teaspoon of peanut butter to your shake. That helps the taste. Chike makes a very good protein shake and you can get 5 sample flavors for free almost - all you pay is $6.95 for shipping. Search on Chike for link. It will be worth it in the end. And yes I did cheat - once. Christmas day was very hard not to eat a few things but I still lost 18 pounds by operation day.
  7. Hello all, I'm from the Searcy area & was banded on Dec 30th by Dr. Gibbs here in Searcy. I'm scheduled to have my first fill on Feb 12th. I'm looking forward to that as theres not much restriction now. Good luck to all!!
  8. Congratulations Karyn!! Can you tell a difference? Did it hurt? I had my first visit with Dr. yesterday & he said it will be Feb. 12th before I get my first fill. It will be about a 5CC fill. It's quite a wait but he goes by the mfg. recommendations. Good luck all.
  9. I'm not getting frustrated yet but do stay a little bit hungry at times. My banding date was Dec. 30th. I feel like I could eat almost anything - BUT DON'T This is from the nutritionist & NOT the Dr. but he follows her hand out. Now I'm on a clear liquid & semi-liquid diet for 2 weeks. The meals should be high in protein and low in carbs and as of today I'm down 25 pounds. I eat an average 850 calories and 70 gr of protein each day & drink a lot of liquid. The next two weeks (3&4) can now be pureed high protein low carb food. The first pureed food to add should be chicken/fish, then pudding & yogurt, Then pureed vegetables and finally add back pureed carbs such as mashed peas, sweet potatoes or mashed potatoes. Only 1/2 cup at a time. I can start this on 1/13 & never thought I would be looking forward to pureed food - of any kind but I am. The goal of the week 3&4 diet is to eat when hungry or eat to prevent hunger. If a snack is needed choose a high protein options like 3 tablespoons cottage cheese, 1 cup liquid protein drink, or 6 tablespoons sugar free instant pudding made with 1 scoop of protein power. Week 5 post-op I can go to soft food ~ preferably high protein and choose a healthy choice side item like fruit or veggies. I don't know what happens after week 5. Maybe a fill and back to pureed food - yum..... It is not easy but we can all do it. This thing will work for all of us - don't give up. There have been to many in front of us that have succeeded and they had the same problems. We can do it.
  10. Try this http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f22466/december-delights-2009-a-106299/index23.html#post1388171 or search December Delights 2009 On the drinking thing my lap-band book says that "alcohol has a high number of calories and breaks down Vitamins but an occasional glass of wine or other alcoholic beverage is not considered harmful to weight loss". I would think a beer would be like a coke with the carbonation and all but they do sell some low carb lite beer. Good going all!!
  11. Hello all. I've had quite a bit of gas but no burping. The pain around the cuts this morning is much better but not gone yet. Still hurts most around the port. Good luck all!!
  12. I know my Dr said that there was very little solution in the band right now and a person could almost eat normal. However he said time was needed to heal around the band(that could take a month) and he recommends the liquid for 2 weeks and pureed for 2 weeks. I pureed some Campbell's healthy select vegetable soup today and had no trouble eating 1/2 cup of that. It was thick but stayed down and also tasted OK. I'm also doing my protein shake which gives me a good meal.
