  1. I just got my second fill after a 3 week plateau. I was losing nicely like you for about 6 weeks then nothing. This new fill has changed everything and I have to push to food away quickly. I was getting to the point where I could eat almost anything. Since the latest fill, I have lost 5 lbs in 5 days. Sure that will slow down, but has given me new motivation. A minor fill of 1 to 2 cc is worth a try, if it's too much to handle, get it taken out.
  2. I am coming up on 2 month anniversary. 2nd fill today 5.5 cc in 10cc band. Starting BMI was 38.5 Weight loss so far = 33.8 lbs. For me, the pain of eating is what keeps me under control, not the feeling that I am full. I get to the point of pushing away the food because I just cant take the pain. To me it feels like knives stabbing me in the throat. Someone else said that we have to get used to not eating like a fat person. I think that is the key. I used to swallow five slices of pizza in about 10 minutes, now I could not possibly eat one. But I feel like I want more food, I just cannot do it with the stabbing pains. Hey, whatever works, but I feel like a dog wearing a bark collar. That is what is keeping me from eating.
  3. Also banded 5/4/09 by Dr. Brown at Colorado Bariatric. Have lost 16.6 Lbs since pre-op diet started on May 1st. Overall weight loss since first Dr visit on 4/21: 23.6 Lbs. First fill will be June 3rd. Someone else said it best, "So far, it's just a diet" the band has not provided any hunger control, only motivation not to have wasted $10,000.

    Anyone banded May 7 2009?

I am now 8 days post op. Tried to hit some golf balls today, but a little too much strain on my mid section. Feeling totally fine now with the exception of this lump sticking out from my belly! I went to soft diet after 5 days (without docs permission) but its really no problem. Just make sure to eat really slow, everything is cut up small and chew, chew, chew. I Have lost an average of a pound a day since surgery on my 1200 calorie diet. Big fan of Ocean Spray Cran-Lemonade packets in the Water bottle.

    Large port lump

i had my surgery 8 days ago. My port lump looks like half a baseball directly under my left rib cage. It's pretty horrible right now, doc says it will go down some. Seems like it is in the worst possible place. If it was closer to my middle, and not so close to the side, it wouldn't stick out as much. Starting BMI was 38. So glad the first week is over!!!
  8. I was banded two days ago. Total to lose from first visit to Dr was 70. As of today, I have lost 13 with the pre-op and post-op diets. Port pain has been intense first two nights, but today is much better (72 hours after surgery). Very concerned about the huge lump in my stomach from the port. Dr used low profile port, but that is a huge lump all the same. Doc said with starting BMI of 38, I do not have as much abdominal fat as others, so expect to always feel and probably see the port. Can anybody help me with their experience starting with a lower BMI as I did?
