I am not a fan of the protien drinks. I personally hate them, but I would not be having surgery without them. A good one is: 1 serving protien vanilla 1 tsp frozen pinapple concentrate 1 tsp frozen orange juice concetrate 1 tsp coconut extract 4-5 ice cubes Blend it all together. Kinda like a pina colada. I can drink this one! I have been on the protien 5 days now and lost 13 lbs! SO it is worht it by far! :faint:

Just a few days on the 2 week pre surgery diet and I have lost 10 lbs. That rocks. I must say that is the ONLY bright spot in the diet. I hate the protien shakes. I can't stand the fruit drink. BUT the weight loss makes it all worth wild. GO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :faint:

Dr. Farhan @ Hurley BC. He is very nice and the staff is very nice. BUT the after care DR. ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!! My mom went with me and she loved him as well! Let me know if you go with them. :clap2:

Good luck with your banding. You may miss the weather here but trust me, lately it has been just like Texas! (I used to live in Galveston & Wichita Falls). Except we have the mugginess not the dry heat. lol... I am getting my banding at Hurley Hospital in Flint. They are still realtively new for it. ABout a year. BUT they have been doing the Rou E Y for 7 years. SO I think they know what they are doing! Just tell her you think she should check out other places.

I am on the 1st of August. I got the confirmation on my date today. No they aren't making me wait long at all! WOOOO HOOO!!!

Lol...glad mine isn't the only one then! I am being banded on the 1st, which is a Tuesday! I start the liquids in the a.m. I am actually excited. lol...

I am a Michigander too!! I just don't tell everyone where I am from. My DH gets mad. But I am from Michigan, I attend Michigan State University, and I eat Pinconning cheese and Kogel's...lol...so I am as Michigan as one can be I think!

I am 5'11". I get banded on the 1st of August. I need to loose about 150 lbs. The good thing is the weight is harder to see when you are soooo tall! lol.... Good luck!

I am getting banded and I will be telling NO ONE but CLOSE family and one friend. Everyone else, even the boss I have told I am getting my gallbladder removed. Less questions that way. I don't want to deal with everyone in my business. So I am keeping it that way!

Thanks all! That definately makes me feel better! I can deal with a week to 10 days. And yes, she was back to work RIGHT away with a ROun En Y, but she is a hardcare chick...lol..a real estate agent too so I think she didn't have to do any lifting. But thanks for the reponses. I feel much better now!

Congratulations! She may have been evil, but she did do you a favor after all! Now you know you don't have to worry what chair you get! And yeah, it is still ok to push her skinny tush over in the chair, just for pure enjoyment! :clap2:

Hello all, I have another question. How long is the down time after surgery? My friend had a Roun E Y and was back to work that next week. Is it possible with a lap band? I know the Dr said 4 weeks no work, but since I am the only breadwinner that scares me. My kids won't eat if I don't work! lol... So what should I expect? I just got my date today (August 1st) so now my nerves are actually kicking in and I am so full of questions!

So hopefully we will still have enough time once I get to talk to her on Monday. I have to do a 2 week diet, I am really hoping that is enough time! Keep your fingers crossed for me!
