  1. Thank you all for your responses! @ DodgerFan Yes, I have definitely kept up with my fills. I have not updated my info. I have had 6 fills since surgery. I am at 6.5 cc's in my band. I have not reached my "sweet spot" either. Hopefully i will at 7cc's.
  2. I have always wondered about this. Before surgery, I was on the liquid diet like most of us on this site. I lost 20 pounds within 2 weeks before surgery. Then after surgery, I lost weight but it was extremely slow. I am almost contemplating going back to the pre op diet! Have any of you thought the same?

Thanks for the tip! I will try this out!

    pain meds

I also received Loratab also. The taste was horrendous. It did not do much for my pain. Since most of my pain came from the gas left in my abdomen.

i miss my food so much

I can totally relate. I miss food as well. it takes 21 days to form an addiction, so you can imagine what happens when you suddenly stop a food addiction. I have to say it takes a lot of will power to try to control my urges to cheat. I am not even 3 weeks post op. It is very hard, but I must remember my goal. Sending you to lapband love to boost your spirits!!
  6. Does anyone else have tummy sleeping restrictions. Im 2wks post op and my Dr told me I have 4 more weeks to go before I can sleep on my stomach again! I hate to complain, but my gosh. I am a tummy sleeper all the way and this is difficult. Sleeping on my side, to me, is a baby step away from sleeping on my stomach. I have no pain around my port, so I do not understand the problem. Does anyone have the same problem?
  7. No, he did not. He just gave me a pre op, and post op restriction list and this (Tummy Sleeping) was one of them, along with Recliners (increases the chance of blood clots). I did not think to question the tummy sleeping, I just kind of trusted his expertise. Now I am thinking I made a mistake by not questioning, this is torture!
  8. My Dr. also recommended chewable for up to 6-wk post op. He told me taking the pill form of a Vitamin or calcium supplement before 6-wks could be painful. I think it is because the pills are big. Currently I use Viactive Calcium chocolate chews, and Solotron Multi Vitamin. There pretty good.
  9. My dietician put me on a schedule to eat 3 meals every 4 hours. She also told me that if I feel like i have been eating all day then she will know for sure i am following the diet plan correctly. If i feel like i have not eaten hardly anything, then she told me this is a sign of not properly following her diet. All Dr.'s and dietitians are different I would consult your bariatric surgeon and dietician to see if they can put you on a schedule. I hope all is well with your Hubby in Iraq, as well as your weight loss!
  10. You know what i wondered the same thing. I was in PAIN! That liquid loratab did nothing for me! I came on here 3 days post op and I see posts like " 3hrs out and feeling on top of the world". I thought to myself either I'm missing something or my surgeon was a quack. How is it possible to feel that darn good after your abdomen has been tampered with?

    Large port lump

I can feel my port also. To the naked eye it is unnoticeable. I am glad I can feel it. I have heard of some patients whose port "jumped" or moved around, making it hard for Dr.'s to detect.
  12. Yes, you really have done a awesome job! I was just recently banded and every time I see a mirror I get into "Biggest Loser Mode". I am not even suppose to exercise yet, well besides walking. But I can still totally relate to the obsession to lose.
  13. I can totally relate. It seems now that I am banded, everyone in my neighborhood wants to barbecue.I want to scream "I am banded stop the torture!"
  14. I know I should be happy since I was just officially banded 04-30-09, but I can not help but to have the blues. For starters the gas they use to inflate your abdomen was pure torture I felt like no matter how much I " walked, walked , walked" the gas would not budge. Another thing I can not seem to get back into my pre op diet. Everything makes me nauseous. I pretty much have been on a Water and diet grape juice diet. I know that's bad, but I can not seem to take anything else down. Help! I'm banded with the blues:frown:

    Just Banded with the Blues

Oh thanks so much you all. It is good to know that I am not the only one experiencing this. I hope I start to feel better. Scrap-booking does sound pretty interesting. Thanks for sharing LingLing!

    Banded today!!!

Congrats! The gas pain was more stress for me than the actually procedure. Oh yes, not to mention the bad back pain from those horrible beds. I'm glad everything went well, please keep us posted, and much success to you!!!!!!!
  17. I did cheat. Yes, I am guilty. I had a bowl of spinach and a Mcdonalds grilled chicken snack wrap. My surgery is in 12hrs and I am extremely nervous that I will be cancelled. When you are going from stuffing your face with all the high cholesterol, to an extremely restricted liquid diet it gets hard. You feel starved (although experts say if you follow the pre-op diet correctly you should not feel hungry). It truly is mind over matter. I came into this thinking I know I can do it. I know I can stick to this diet in it's entirety. It got harder everyday.
  18. Hello everyone, My name is Brittney and I am due to be banded 4/30. I am very nervous, not because of the life altering change or surgery in general, I am nervous because of the crappy and extremely low rated hospital I will have my procedure at.:rolleyes2: I have started my pre op better Md. diet and whoever conjured up that minestrone Soup needs a new job. The food is the pits. Anyhow I am continuing to move forward. If anyone has tips for nervousness I would love to hear... Brittney
