It's fun to read this and see how far I have come. I have lost a total of 75 pounds!!! Life has been great! I have only had some recent issues with reflux after a 1cc fill in December. Way too much at one time!! Wonder what that PA was thinking??? I have had 3 unfills, and we are working on resolving the reflux/heartburn. But prior to that , my life has been on the upswing!! I am more active, more social,I am feeling attractive!!! I am noticing men looking at me, in a way I haven't seen for years!!! I feel like I am back to the REAL ME!! The one before the pregnancy weight, that yo-yo'd up and up and up!! Sad, because alot of people don't know that person, because I have carried the extra weight for 10 years, and they only know me as obese!! But this is a lifestyle change, as is any weight loss approach. But seriously, I feel it's been almost effortless:) I notice weight comes off easier when I do some form of exercise at least 3 times a week. It's easy to get lazy. Especially when the weather is bad....I know excuses!! My original goal was 145, that's the weight I was when I met my husband. But I think I am going to just try and focus on 10lb weight losses from here on out and see how I feel and look. So today, I weighed in at 179........let's see where it goes:)
  2. Good Luck!! I am curious to see what shows up. I was banded 6/09, I never had any signs of reflux until I got a fill in December 2010. I had not had any fills for 9plus months. After the fill(1cc)!! I was vomiting ,coughing .....So now after three unfills, I am still having heartburn, reflux, burning in my tummy. Not all the time. So I am trying to work with this and see what triggers it ...if anything?? It can be annoying and uncomfortable. But I am going to focus on my habits and see if anything resolves those symptoms before I go back next month. Hope you fell better soon!!
  3. After not seeing the clinic for about 9months , I wanted to get in before the holidays for a little tweak. I had been plateaued, but comfortable. But knew I was able to eat too much. The same thing happened to me, after a 1cc fill by the PA. Identical!!! I have been in at least three times now for unfills and I am still having issues with heartburn and reflux. It's very frustrating!! It is very scary to wake up and have vomit in your mouth/throat!! This has stopped, but the heartburn continues. Someone wrote to eat slower, which I do need to still work on, so I am going to consciously give this a try. I hate to go back for another unfill, so I am trying to really look at my habits:no eating after supper seems to help MOST of the time, but not always, what I am eating,CHEWING!!!! I am really bad at this too. I have started exercising again. I had gotten lazy. This really does make a difference!! On the upside, I have lost weight!!
  4. I'm doing the happy dance right for you right now !1 GREAT JOB!!!
  5. :eek:paranoia that does some it up for me too. I have started to experience port pain after I did some light swimming last week. It's not bad just a nuisance that was never there before. I go see the doctor or shopuld I say NP in 2 days. I hate to say that some of my pureed foods weren't so pureed. Like sloppy joe meat. But I chewed it really good, so i didn't understand the difference of my mouth doing it vs. a grinder:huh2: I was banded 6/22.
  6. Hi Kim, I was banded 6/22. Doing pretty good. I have been given more liberal eating guidelines compared to most. I had Clear Liquids x 2 days, then full liquids x 2weeks( pudding stuff), then 2 weeks of pureed meat or babyfood, then 7/20 regular food( moisten). From my top weight to now I have lost 27 pounds, 20 pounds since banding:thumbup:. I am worried after reading some of these posts about slippage... I never have pain, or reflux or vomiting. But I have had a few days where I ate not so pureed foods, but not regular either( in between) . I Hope all is well. I feel well, just a little scared after reading , I guess I never understood it's about healing not tolerating. And about the stomach churning stuff. Sorry, I got longwinded, but I would love to be your buddy:thumbup: Patty
  7. Nice ticker!! I have tried to make one, I must be doing something wrong because it just shows up as words...http stuff, not the ticker???? Where are you pasting it too?? Thanks for any assistance :Dancing_wub::smile:

Surgery was 6/22 and I now have lost 27 pounds:thumbup:. I still have to wear the abd. binder for a total of 5 weeks:angry:. On pureed foods, but I have been eating scrambled eggs, sloppy joe, refried beans, sardines. All going okay:rolleyes2:. I feel so great. I feel more happy. It's amazing what one's weight can play on ones' mind. I always thought I was happy before, but I feel it more so now!! If anyone is considering this surgery , I strongly say "Do It!!" And acourse good luck!!

I went for a bike ride yesterday because i got the green light to do so at my first post-op. appt. Surprised that it didn't hurt to ride the bike!!! Yippy. My toughest battle is sleeping in my bed, I had to return to the couch, because the matress is too soft and there isn't much for me to grab to help me roll over. i felt like a turtle on it's back!! Not very flattering

My insurance covers 90%, the rest I have to pay. I did not have to do a liquid diet, I had to just lose 10 pounds any way I wanted to. But it was the hardest 10 I ever had to lose. I think because i was also having "my last of this and last of that ". Just take one day at a time:) Good Luck!!

 Wow! I was banded 6/22 and I am feeling great! 5 days post-op!! I do have one sore spot on my left, there is a buldge, with pain. I hope it's not a hernia. But I see my doctor on 6/30 for my first follow up. I did step on my scale .......scared....then overjoyed to see 9lbs already gone in 5 days! I am so thrilled, because I am now back in the 230's. My starting weight was 254.5 lbs:frown: I know it won't be this fast all of the time...but it was such a good feeling to see that damn scale move in the down direction!!
