  1. I can hardly wait until my date. I started this process back in april. But my time is coming. Anyone else getting banded around this date? Good luck to all. Jen
  2. Thanks Nikki, I said its just one meal...unless you count all the leftover meals. It might be pureed turkey for us
  3. I went to my final 6 of 6 dietitian visit today. So glad that is done. It did go very fast. Lost a total of 11 pounds. Now I play the waiting game. Hoping surgery will be sometime in November. My mom says wait til after the holidays so I can eat. I said I don't care. Funny!! I want to get my new life started. Good luck to everyone out there. Jen
  4. out approximately 500 for copays and program fee. but my 30% is around 4700.00 due before surgery.
  5. Congrats on quitting smoking...That is a huge huge milestone. I am 3 weeks away from my 6th monthly visit and have only lost 8 pounds. It is very hard. Just look at the big picture and remember we want to get the surgery and have to motivate ourselves somehow to lose. Coming here everyday helps. Good luck on you adventure. Jen
  6. Good luck on your journey. I have to do the 6 month supervised diet and already have gone to 2 out of 6 visits. It is going very fast. Keep us posted. Jen
  7. missy, I had to call my insurance company(humana) and they told me there was a bariatric management team that I had to talk to. This was on a Tuesday and I had left messages everyday and emailed them once. 6 days later they emailed me the requirements. Which was nice so that I could print it out. I have to do 6 month md supervised diet and has to be done at a center of excellence. Dr Curry's journeylite office is not center of excellence but they told me he could do my surgery at Jewish hospital in cincinnati which is COE Hope this helps. Jenni
  8. Beauty queen, I wish you the best of luck and keep us posted on your progress. jenni

  11. Hi Laplady, I live about a hour east of cincinnati in brown county. I am scheduled for the seminar with dr curry 4/29. Very excited. My insurance is already telling me I have to do the 6 month diet. Did you have to do that? Also, is Dr Curry and his staff attentive to all your needs? Thanks for any information. Jenn
  12. Thank you LibbyJane. I didn't realize how many people actually had to do the 6 month diet.
  13. Thank you and I will. I really need to find out how to get those cute little weight tickers in my post.
  14. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am 36 yrs old and live about a hour from Cincinnati, Ohio. Have been overweight, or should I say morbidly obese(according to the bmi) for about 11 yrs now. I have about 130 lbs to lose. I have been thinking a long time about the lap band. I finally got my husband to agree to go to a seminar. So we signed up with Dr trace Curry on 4/29. I already know my insurance Humana wants me to do a 6 month diet. So I called Dr currys office and asked if I should wait til after the seminar to do anything and she said yes and that I will do my diet through them and not my pcp. I am excited about that. I have been lurking in these forums for awhile now and just wanted to say Thank you for all the post everyone has posted. It has been so informative. Good luck to all.
