  1. I haven't heard anything about any of my appointments for testing since the consult. I called the surgeons office today and I guess we are waiting on Tricare to approve them all. BLAH! Hurry up Tricare!

  3. I honestly think he wants what's best for me. He's a very good surgeon. He said it was my decision of course. =)

  5. I guess he thinks it would be better for me because I like sweets and need to lose a lot (BMI is 44.) But I'm sure the money is a factor too.

  7. What percentage of your excess weight have you lost?
  8. My surgeon thinks I would do better with Gastric Bypass, but I really don't want to go that route. He is supportive about the band too, but his recommendation for me was GB.
  9. My Mom was the ONLY one I was worried about telling. I think it's because they care about us so much that they are going to automatically be worried that something bad is going to happen. But once I told her about it and gave her a little education on it, she was totally fine. :huh2:
  10. Hi guys! I don't have a date yet but I'm thinking it will be December. The reception said it's usually about a month after the consult, which is Oct. 29th.
  11. What if they can't be crushed and don't come in liquid form?
  12. A size 14 is about 170 pounds for me. I'm 5' 7"

  17. Can the post-ops share with us pre-ops what we should buy to have on hand after surgery?
  18. Oooo that's a good point. Look at it more as a tool for maintaining! I lost 65 pounds a few years ago, then quit smoking and gained it all back. UGH
  19. Just looking for some insight. I am so skeptical about getting banded. I HATE being indecisive about something!
