  1. Hi mine is bayba8004@yahoo.com.
  2. I had the same problem I had my surgery on 11/20/09 6 days before Thanksgiving and I was fine but on Thanksgiving day I was itching like crazy, and the next day it was worse and it got red and puffy around each incision site, so I took the tape off all of them and put hydrocortisone cream around them and that helped. Well turns out I had a allergic reaction to the tape that they used. it went away in a couple of days.
  3. I have been in this situation several times and I work in the mall so I have a small side of teriyaki chicken from panda express with the sauce on the side and it's about a 1/2 cup serving it keeps me full for about 5 hours and I don't even finish the whole thing. I try and stay away from rice, pasta and bread because I've found that the protein keeps me full and I don't have to eat as much since I don't have any restriction.

  5. I process shipment at my job and I'm up and down a 8 foot ladder with boxes up to 25#'s. And I went back to work in 1 week but my doc said I couldn't lift anything heavier than 15#'s for at least 6 weeks. I told my boss that I can't be going up and down the ladder with heavy boxes for a couple of weeks. She was understanding and let me do a lighter workload.
  6. 4x4 moma & jeni I am there with you, I was banded on 11/20/09 and I've only lost about 4 pounds since, and my first fill is exactly 2 months and 8 days after 1/28/10. I'm not discouraged I just keep telling myself that I need to be patient. I've been walking and strength training. So it's going to happen, pretty soon we'll be down to our goal and feeling good.
  7. I would like a challenge to lose at least 10 pounds by valentines day. I have been stalled on weight lost, so I think 10 #s is reasonable. I'm in:thumbup:.
  8. Soexcited I was feeling very tired all the time also, and my friend who had gastric told me she felt the same after her surgery and found out she wasn't getting enough protein, so I took her advice and started sipping protien shakes mixed with water throughout the day and felt really good like the next day. My doctor said it is really important to try and get my 60 grms of protein a day.
  9. Hi Lisa we are almost the same. I had my surgery on Nov 20th and I weighed 227 and as of today I weigh 221 I'm pretty excited also! I'm on full liquids and have a whole lot of tummy rumbling. I don't take gas x though maybe I should. But we should keep in touch.
  10. Hi everyone I was banded yesterday 11/20 and I feel pretty good not in to much pain just my port site is very sore. I can hold down liquids pretty good, I'm on clear liquids for 48 hrs then full liquids for 2 weeks, then mushies for 2 weeks and finally soilds. I do have gas but it's just pressure from bloating I've been walking alot and that helps but I just took the gas x. Well good luck to all of you.
  11. Well I was banded yesterday! I got home today. I wasn't in alot of pain I didn't need pain meds until 3:00am last night because I kept tossing and turning in the hospital bed. The only pain I really had was at the port site. I have bloating from the gas but it's not painful hopefully it stays that way. Well good luck to all of you getting banded soon.
  12. My surgery is Nov. 20th and I am freaking out, for some reason I keep thinking that my liver didn't shrink enough I only lost 4 pounds on my pre op diet. I start my clear liquids on wed for 48 hours so hopefully I drop a couple more pounds.
  13. Congratulations
  14. lilaz Congrats on your date! Are you nervous?? I'm a little nervous I'm going to be at the hospital by myself and that freaks me out my husband has to work half a day and my mom has to watch my kids so I've been biting my nails. But I'll be happy once it's over.
  15. I hate to say but I already cheated twice!! Yikes!! I had a tortilla both days once. because I was so hungry comming home from work and didn't have another shake so I ate meat in a tortilla. :tongue_smilie:I felt bad after, but I don't know I just got so darn hungry. I do just fine when I home all day with the kids.
  16. I also have to stay overnight I wish I didn't have to I have two boys 5 and 1 1/2 yrs and they can't see me at the hospital because of the whole H1N1 scare, their not allowed in the room before or after. My doctor makes all his patients stay 1 night (24 hrs).
  17. My surgery is Nov 20th also, and I started my pre-op today. I'm allowed to drink 2 - 3 protein shakes a day and have 4-6 ounces of lean meat for dinner with a green veggie.
  18. I called my insurance company to see what was required by them for bariatric surgery and they told me a psch eval and a consult with nutritionist. So you might want to call them and ask.
  19. I just found out that my surgery is Nov. 20. But next week I have to have pre-op testing a EKG and a chest x-ray, and lab work. I'm so relieved that it's so close now.
  20. Well, I have my pre-op class on Mon Oct. 26 and they said that my surgery will be scheduled in Nov. but I won't know the day until Mon. But congrats to all!! Wish you all the luck.:crying::thumbup:
  21. Thank you! I'm excited!
  22. I finally got approved!! Finally I started this process in April and it seems like forever. I have my pre-op class on Oct 26 and they will give me my surgery date then. Thank God the waiting is over.:w00t::sneaky:
  23. Thanks, I saw Dr Krahn today and I have to see my PCP on Friday Sept 4 and he has to give me a medical clearance and order my upper GI. I already scheduled my pshy eval and its not until sept 21. But that is all I need so they said that I looking at surgery in October / November. Can't wait!!! So Julia how did you like going to Dr Krahn? He seemed nice at the visit.
  24. yeah I know he has done alot of gastric bypass, But how long was his whole process? I'm tired of waiting.
  25. Okay I was approved for the surgery in April 2009 but my PCP required me to attend 2 months of diet and I lost 20 lbs. But I had to go to a seminar 1st and this thursday I'm going to my consult, I talked to the office staff and they said that I just have to do my pshy eval, and nutrionist, and maybe a upper GI if the dr recommends it. But I was wondering if anyone has went to Dr. Krahn in San Bernardino CA because that is who will be doing my surgery. How long did the process take? I already have the authorization for the surgery it's just how long is he going to take?
